"What's a stat point?"
[A stat point can be used to improve a user's basic stats, or can be used to increase one's health. If used on health or energy it will be increased by ten points.]
Thinking about this, another status screen appeared in front of her.
[ Strength ›› 5]
[ Dexterity ›› 2]
[Endurance ›› 8]
Looking at these numbers, Emily didn't really know how to gauge them at all, but she knew based on how high her Endurance was, that her Strength and Dexterity were extremely low.
'So I have Health, which seems to go down as my body gets injured. Then there's Energy, which is used up just on a day to day basis, but if I start fighting more than it uses it similar to a stamina bar in a game. However, it can also be used in an emergency to heal my body as well.
'As for the normal stats, Strength had to mean how strong I am right? Dexterity must be things like speed, agility and reflexes. I am pretty slow so that makes sense, and then Endurance should be stamina.
Thinking about the fight that just occurred, Emily was wondering what the best way to use the stat point was. At first her mind thought something like dexterity would be most useful. She could become a counter hitter using openers strength against them, especially if she was going to participate in more underground tournament fights.
[ You have added 3 stat to dexterity ]
[ Dexterity ›› 5 ]
There was one more message that had appeared in the middle of the match and that was that Emily had acquired a new skill.
Thinking about it again, another screen appeared in front of her.

Emily walked down the street, her stomach growling again. She felt like she hadn't eaten all day.
Her eyes fell upon a neon sign that read "Supermart" in bold letters. With a glimmer of hope in her eyes, she picked up her pace and ran towards the store. Pushing the door open, she was met with the chilled air inside the store.
She hurried down the aisles, searching for the meat section. Her eyes landed on a pack of juicy steaks, her mouth watering at the sight. She quickly grabbed one pack and made her way to the counter, where an old man greeted her.
He smiled at her and gestured to the display screen, showing her how to pay for her purchase. Emily fumbled with her digital wallet, trying to find her credit card. As she swiped it through the scanner, she checked her account balance, only to be surprised by the amount. "Daniel sent me a thousand credits!" she exclaimed.
Overwhelmed by his generosity, she decided to grab another pack of steak for herself. As she exited the store, the doors opening automatically, she smirked to herself, feeling satisfied with her purchase.
[ Blood vision activated ]
As she walked out onto the bustling street she activated her blood vision and put on her newly purchased eye contact, Emily couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. Everywhere she looked, there were self-driving cars and drones whizzing by overhead, delivering goods and services to the people of the city. The air was thick with the hum of technology and the chatter of people speaking into their neural implants.
Feeling a bit disoriented, Emily navigated her way through the crowds until she found a quiet corner to catch her breath. It was the middle of the night so no one was around and this time it was a lot easier for her to eat. She dug into the steaks so quickly that she didn't realise how much her body needed it.She leaned against the cool concrete wall and opened up her personal assistant app, which displayed all the latest news and events happening in the city.
[Daily quest complete]
[5 Exp received]
The quest to consume two kilograms of meat had already been completed and it was nearly one o'clock at night, but this time the exp awarded was half that of before.
Just as she was scrolling through the latest headlines, she heard a loud crash and turned to see a hologram ad for a new energy drink had malfunctioned and collapsed onto the street, causing a mini traffic jam. Everyone around her paused for a moment, looking up at the flashing lights and shards of broken glass scattered across the ground.
Emily couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for the owner of the ad, whose product was now plastered all over the pavement. This was common sight in a tier 4 city, she knew from experience just how hard it was to make a living in this cutthroat city. Most things are sub standard, and how one mistake could mean the difference between success and failure_ life and death.
Shaking her head, Emily pushed the thought of the police or G. I. D arresting and locking her in prison from her mind and started walking again, determined to enjoy her day off. She turned a corner and found herself face to face with a street performer, a robot that was programmed to play music and dance for tips. Emily smiled and tossed a few credits into its hat, enjoying the cheerful melody it was playing.
As she continued down the street, Emily passed by a group of protestors holding signs and chanting slogans. She couldn't quite make out what they were protesting, but she admired their dedication to their cause and their willingness to stand up for what they believed in.
Finally, after an hour of wandering around and taking in the sights and sounds of the city, Emily decided to head back to her apartment. She hailed a self-driving taxi and settled into the comfortable leather seat which was new to her, feeling grateful for the simple pleasures in life. As the taxi whisked her away, she couldn't help contemplating what she might do with her newfound wealth. Maybe a luxury meal at a high-end restaurant or some online shopping?.. I should visit the Landlady and pay the bills and some how get her not to tell mom.
