Chapter 21 - I Want to be the Leader

The elevator doors slide shut, and security camera focused on a blind smiling school girl's face as she pressed the button for the eighth floor. The elevator jolted into motion, and Emily clutched her backpack tightly. As the elevator doors opened, Emily stepped out into a spacious bungalow with old-fashioned decorations.

The Filteration system moved to show a grumpy grey old woman standing in front of her, wearing a weaved grey dress which was in Stark contrast to the smart clothes everybody put on and watering a strange carnivorous mutant plant.

Madame Armstron frowned. " Why aren't you in school ugly?."

" Oh" I'm here to pay the rent." Emily smiled.

Madame Armstron's scolding eyes and demeanor changed as she heard Emily.

She opened the door further and offered a polite welcome smile." We should talk inside.. you know I was planning on sending you pimpets out my apartment for the late payment."

As Emily stepped inside, she looked around and noticed that the place was old but not shabby. The décor was tasteful, and the furniture looked like it's been well-cared for over the years. As Emily followed Madame Armstron to the living room, she heard a man talking. She glanced towards the source of the sound and saw a young man on a Comm call holding a digital brush.

The old woman led her to an old parlor where she begins to talk about her home and how hard it is to keep the bungalow in good condition.

" You know the acid rain won't let my miley grow and my low grade filtration system is riddled... that poor plant I had to feed it goose meat and everything."

Madame Armstron smiled gently, almost wistfully.

"Make yourself at home, dear."

Samuel smirked. "I can't believe she's blind, Mom. How does she even function?"

Madame Armstron exchanged a pained glance with Emily before addressing Samuel.

Madame Armstron sighed. "She's not as helpless as you think, Samuel. She's here to pay the rent. Show her the paypad."

Samuel reluctantly hands over an old-fashioned PAYPAD to Madame Armstron. It emitted a faint glowing light as it came online.

Emily caught a glimpse of the ancient PAYPAD sitting on a cluttered table she had UHR13 contact lens blocking her red eye. Madame Armstron watched Emily closely, gauging her reaction.

Tell me, child, how are you going to pay the rent?.her voice etched with frustration

Emily eyes narrowed softly as she smiled.

" I added a little extra and I will appreciate it if this transaction stays between us ma'am."

Emma took out her digital card from her pocket. She placed it on the PAYPAD, causing it to light up with holographic images of a monetary transaction. Madame Armstron's eyes widen with surprise.

Emily had just left the complex, her mind consumed with thoughts of assignments and impending exams at school. She had barely taken a few steps towards the road when a faint buzzing echoed through the air, startling her out of her thoughts. She fished out her trusty comm from her pocket, its sleek surface feeling cool against her fingertips.

Unlocking the device, Emily's eyes widened as she read the urgent message from Daniel. "We need to meet. Meet me at the morgue in two hours," the message read, its brevity reflecting the urgency of the situation. Her mind immediately began to race with questions and possibilities. What could Daniel want that required such secrecy? And why the abandoned morgue in the woods, of all places?_ there were rampant thoughts coursing through Emily's head... Sane and_ perverted.

With a sudden determination fueled by curiosity, Emily made a swift decision. School could wait for now; this meeting with Daniel must be important. She veered off her usual path, the anticipation in her veins surging with every step. The woods beckoned, their dense greenery appearing even more mysterious and intriguing than ever before.

As Emily delved deeper into the woods, the air grew cooler, and the sounds of civilization dissipated with each passing moment. The rustling of leaves under her hurried footsteps and the chirping of birds became the only sounds accompanying her, a stark contrast to the bustling life she had just left behind.

After what felt like an eternity of navigating through the twisting paths, an eerie silence engulfed her as a clearing emerged before her, revealing the long-forgotten morgue. The once vibrant source of life now lay abandoned, its structures crumbling under the weight of time and desolation. Sunlight cascaded through the gaps in the canopy, casting an ethereal glow upon the murky waters below.

Emily's heart pounded as she scanned the area, searching for any sign of Daniel's presence. Emily heart became heavy with anticipation, the significance of this meeting becoming more palpable with each passing second. She couldn't help but wonder why Daniel had chosen such a desolate location, seemingly frozen in time amidst the wild woods of New Tylon.

Two hours stretched on, yet there was no sign of Daniel. Doubts began to creep into Emily's mind, uncertainty clouding the initial excitement. Was it a prank or a grave miscommunication? She stood there, torn between staying and leaving. But the allure of the abandoned morgue held her rooted to the spot.

After a while, Emily's ears pricked up, detecting faint rustling behind her_ that scent_ slow heartbeat. She turned around, her heart pounding, only to see Daniel emerge from the shadows wearing a black trainers instead of school uniform. He wore a calm expression on his face, seemingly unaffected by the eerie surroundings. She beckoned him closer, her unease apparent.

" The White swan lost some members in a recent incident involving the gang members being brutally murdered in Asterion bar. The white swan had cough out a million credits to pay off the local police to bury the incident."

Emily's heart skipped a beat, and a feeling of guilt weighed heavily on her shoulders. Unbeknownst to Daniel, she had inadvertently played a role in the deaths of those gang members_ she was the author of their demise.

"Well my family are in possession of an urban satelite we call her uretza. She is a family-owned private satellite that we had discreetly deployed above the city, solely for surveillance purposes. Its stealth capabilities had allowed her to evade potential hackers, effectively covering up our activities.

Emily's chest tightened, knowing that her connection to that satellite was the key to their conversation. Her secret was now at risk of being exposed.

Fear mingled with confusion as Emily looked at Daniel, wondering if he was somehow involved with the gang or if he intended to harm her in this secluded, foreboding location. His discerning eyes caught her unease, and he raised his hand in a gesture of reassurance.

" I know of your deep-rooted hatred for the gangs that plagued New Tylon. I believe our moral compass aligned with with each other Emily."

"We know for certain the gangs will not stop hurting people sooner or later they will hurt the ones we care about. My vision is a future where the gangs would be eradicated, where we would rise as overlords, and even gain approval from the Royals themselves. Then we will create a cartel that would rival the might and influence of all the royal families combined."

" Join us Emily as we fight the just cause."

Daniel stared straight into Emily's eyes waiting for an answer.

Emily did not expect this, she could not even understand some of the concepts of Daniel's speech.

[ Darla you should join his gang the young pristine vampire has great ambition but you should be the Leader ]

Leader?.... Why?..

[ If you want to impress the young lad you don't have to bend easily to his will that's weakness and vampires hate weaknesses ]

"I... I....I...will join...I also want the gangs to fall for what they did to me and my family but I have two conditions."

Daniel nodded calmly ." I'm open to any condition and suggestions."

" I want to be the one to kill Isashi"

" What's your second condition? ". Daniel asked.

" I want to be the Leader"

Daniel stared at Emily and he smiled so bright he looked more handsome not only has Emily impressed him by killing the werewolf obviously stronger than her and not even feeling an atom of guilt she also killed 12 gang members weilding plasma swords not that Daniel wasn't confident in his skills as a level 12 Pristine vampire the battle will cost him as plasma blades are illegal weapons made with the stolen energy from a sun that will be lethal for any vampire. Now she wants to be the Leader.
