Dire fang stood in the center of the arena, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His eyes were glowing blue, and his veins were pulsing beneath his skin. He was transforming into a werewolf, but only partially.
His hands and feet became large and hairy, with sharp claws protruding from his fingertips. His teeth sharpened into fangs, and his jaw grew more pronounced. His skin became slightly furred, and his senses heightened.
But the transformation didn't go all the way. Dire fang retained his human form, albeit a more monstrous version of it. He was now a half-man, half-beast hybrid, a creature of both worlds.
Emily was caught completely off guard when the human activated his partial werewolf transformation. He lunged at her with incredible speed, leaving her no time to react. She raised both hands to block his attack, but he was too strong. His first punch connected with her hands, and she felt them go numb. She could see the ceiling above her and taste her own blood. She was slammed into a defense barrier, and she gritted her teeth as she tried to pick herself up. She could tell that her right hand was broken.

The werewolf was in front of her again now, its massive form towering over her. She bent down to avoid his next attack, and a fist the size of her head crashed into the barrier where she had just been standing. The werewolf followed up with a knee kick to her chest, knocking the wind out of her and sending her sprawling on the floor.

Emily's intuition kicked in, and she rolled away just in time. The werewolf crashed into the spot where she had been, leaving a crater in the floor. Emily gasped for breath as she scrambled to her feet. She knew that she was in serious trouble.

After having won his fight Sunn had gone over to the bar counter and had ordered himself a beer, part of the quirks he had received for winning his match. As he had expected, several people had quickly come over, attempting to recruit him over to their teams.
It was rare to see a 'Elf' who was quite talented and knew spells on top of that. Sunn had listened to the various offers, but none of them had piqued his interest.
Daniel had deliberately waited for all the hyenas to disappear, but rather than to directly approach like all the others had done, he had ordered himself a fancy cocktail. Once he had received it he took a big swig and leaned against the counter from which he had simply started to watch Emily's match for a bit.
So far Emily had managed to avoid the wild but powerful swings from Dire fang a few times, even thrown a couple of them herself, unfortunately they all had rebound off the other's tough hide.
"Do you fancy yourself a man who loves the spectacle, Red?" For the first time, Daniel addressed the other boy.
Red Sunn took a second to reply, as he had started to believe that Daniel might have really just come over for a drink. He had noticed that he was dressed in the same colours as the fighter in the arena.
The strange thing about that was, although Daniel had the looks of a pretty boy, he nevertheless appeared to have the physique of an experienced vampire. Much more so than his frail buddy whose only strength appeared to be dodging and running. Even under his clothes his muscles were apparent.
However, most importantly to Sunn, the one trait that stood out even more than the others… was that this eccentric boy next to him smelled of money! From the hoses he wore, to the watch he was wearing on his wrist, all of it looked to be genuine brand-name items!
"If I wasn't a man who fancy the spectacle, I wouldn't have given the arena such a spectacular fight," Red Sunn eventually replied.
"Well, that makes two of us then. Thanks to your performance in the last match I've already earned a pretty penny~," Daniel said, as he took out a wad of credit which he then playfully tossed up. He noticed that Red Sunn's eyes became bigger, seemingly trying to estimate how much it was worth, putting a mild smirk on Daniel's face.
"I've seen that you've rejected the offers of the other guys, so how about a little wager to make things interesting? In a moment, I will go over to place a bet on 'Midnight Maiden' winning with the money I used for my earlier bet.
" That's a lot of faith" Sunn smirked.
" In a moment Midnight maiden will change the course of the battle, it will be quite the spectacle.
If I turn out to be correct, you'll join our gang and half the payout sum will be yours. We can call it a nice 'little' advance payment for joining the crew. On the other hand, if she loses, all the money you see here will be yours."

The werewolf turned to her as she tried to catch her breath. She was in bad shape. A normal person would've been dead twice over. She couldn't afford to be careless. The werewolf lunged at her she was ready for this but was surprised that the attack was faster than last time.
She dodged to the side only to see the werewolf's claws come up and slice her cheek. She used the momentum from her dodge and grabbed the werewolf's outstretched arm and pulled him over her and she Slammed her knee in his face.
The werewolf stood and laughed "I'm impressed. Not many can dodge my attack like that. Let me show you something special"
The werewolf changed to a fighting stance and took a deep breath and roared. A sonic wave of energy erupted from his mouth.
"This is the power of a werewolf"
She jumped away and the wave destroyed a section of the arena. She looked at the werewolf with shock.
"Not bad huh. If a normal human is hit by that they would become a mindless puppet."
He got into a stance again and said "Now let me try it on you. This is my technique Moonlight Whip."
The werewolf swiped his claws and an energy slash headed towards her, She dodged to the side but the attack cut off her right arm.
" AAARRRGGHH "

Emily could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins.
" The wo...unds... you healed." The werewolf stammered.
Suddenly, the bones of her severed arm began to glow. A strange energy crackled around them, and the flesh began to melt away.
Emily watched in horror as her arm disintegrated into a pile of ash. In its place, two twisted bones emerged. They were long and sharp, like the talons of a bird of prey.
The bones grew longer and longer, until they were nearly a foot long. They curved inward at the tips, forming a makeshift weapon.
Emily stared at her new hand in disbelief. She had no idea what was happening, but it wasn't painful.
All she could do was watch as her hand continued to grow.
The bones grew thicker and stronger, and the talons became sharper. The skin around her shoulder began to split and tear, revealing the glowing bones beneath.
Finally, the transformation was complete. Emily's right hand was now nothing more than a pair of twisted bones, ending in sharp points.
She looked down at her new hand smiled. It was a cold, maniacal smile, the smile of someone who had lost their mind.
" Monster"
Emily's eyes glowed red as she lunged at the werewolf. She raised her makeshift weapon, a pair of twisted bones with sharp points at the ends, and plunged it into the werewolf's heart.
The werewolf's skin parted like butter, and it let out a gurgling cry. Emily pulled the weapon back and went for the werewolf's throat. But at the last second, she hesitated. She couldn't bring herself to kill it.
She slashed the werewolf's neck instead of beheading it, and the werewolf collapsed to the ground, it was too late now. The werewolf was dead.

The commentator and everyone in the arena watched the arena with different expressions on their faces. Some faces showed intrigue, surprise, and even fear. The commentator was watching from his platform when he could feel the hair on his skin raise. He turned around and could see a female teenager with gold and brown hair sit on the empty seat beside him.
His eyes turned to saucers as he recognized the teenager. "W-white blood?" he stammered.
She just waved with a smile and said, "I know you're a fan, but you should announce the winner already. Don't keep everyone waiting."
The commentator quickly took the mic and announced the winner. " And the winner strictly by knock-out Middddnnnigghttt Maiiiiidddddeeeennn."
