Taking a good look at myself in the mirror after changing my clothes, I could tell how much I'd matured physically.
My eyes were a rich sapphire color that almost seemed to glow, and my grown hair's light brown color turned into an ashy brown color that contrasted well with my eyes. I studied my face as if it weren't my own. Even after twelve years in this body, I hadn't gotten completely used to my appearance compared to the rather normal face I had in my old world.
"Took you long enough to get ready, son! Who are you trying to impress?" My father asked me with a smile and a proud expression, continuing, "You have grown well, Ryan!"
"Yes, father!" I said as Ku jumped on my head and took his seat, as he always did.
My father patted Ku's head as he let out a "Kyu-" expression.
"Seeing you have come this far almost makes me worry about the students who are going to pick a fight with you, son!" My father said with a smile.
Well, he is right... I suppose.
"Please control yourself to a degree, son. There are members of very influential families attending that school. You wouldn't want to create trouble for your uncle. Not to mention Amelia, your adoptive mother, would be there as the main director of the school," my father chided, his face filled with worry.
"Don't worry, father. I won't strike without my foe's attack first!" I saluted while stuffing my face with more oatmeal that was kept for my breakfast in the room while I was having the conversation with my father. Ku stealing the fruits mixed into it as my father and I talked about my coming days.
Just when I completed my breakfast and cleaned myself up, Ku and I came outside of my father's office along with my father as we checked everything I had packed; the receptionist walked in.
"Master Samuel, the guests have arrived and are waiting for you and Master Ryan downstairs," she said while bowing.
With my father's nod, the receptionist left as he continued, "Well, let's meet your uncle now, son!"
With that, my father and I went downstairs to meet my uncle George; he was waiting with his certainly extravagant carriage with Earthen Deer magical beasts pulling for the carriage's movement.
"Hello Uncle George. It's been so long!" I said with a smile.
"Oh, Ryan! You have grown tall, eh? And it's a cute magical beast you have there!" Uncle George patted my shoulders as he smiled at Ku.
"Why don't you come in, George, have some tea before you guys leave," My father said as we were having our conversations.
"It's alright, Sam. I just came here to pick up my nephew," he replied gently.
"So, are you ready, Ryan?" Uncle George asked me with an excited expression.
On hearing my uncle, I turned to my father, "Father," I said with a smile as I continued, "keep yourselves safe while I'm gone, okay?" I gave him a strong hug, and my father teared up a little bit. But, my father was holding me firmly in his strong arms.
"You kid! Haha."
"Be good, Ryan, and don't worry about me," my father said, "Come visit whenever you can and keep in touch!"
"Well, let's get going then, Ryan!" My uncle George said as we both walked towards the carriage, with Ku still sitting on my head with a relaxed and excited expression.
"Your luggage is in the back of the carriage." The driver bowed and opened the door for both of us.
I couldn't help but smile, looking back at the magic guild, my old home, as I stepped inside the carriage that would bring me to my new one.
