Adler left, saying, "I'll come and get you in two hours, lad. Be ready and bring your ID with you. I'll be waiting in the reception!" with a gentle smile.
I didn't know why an Admission building had rooms to stay and stuff, but I guess people from different races come here to get into the prestigious Central academy, and I thought, these rooms were given to them for their stay until they manage to get into the school.
I must say, I do like the thinking of that.
So, without any waiting, I entered the room, and surprisingly, I was greeted by a spacious and neatly arranged living space. There was a comfortable bed, a study desk, and even a small lounge area by the window.
"These guys know how to make a house!" I said to myself while seeing the room. The room had an air of luxury that I wasn't accustomed to, but it felt welcoming.
Ku, who had been getting comfortable on my head, fluttered down to the room's bed, "Kyu~!" he was hopping up and down on top of me, a feeling of excitement radiating from him.
I decided to freshen up first before exploring the city or training. After I took a quick shower, dragging my smelly wolf with me, I changed into a clean set of clothes and felt a lot more rejuvenated.
Ku cried in distress at the warm water drenching him, but I didn't relent, and soon after, we were both sparkling clean.
"…kyu" Ku moaned, plopped down on my bed, exhausted from struggling.
"Don't complain! Both of us were filthy, and we didn't wash yesterday either."
Just as I finished getting ready, there was a knock on the door. When I opened it, a servant stood outside, holding a tray with a variety of delicious-looking dishes.
"Good day, Mr. Ryan. I've brought your meal. Is there anything else you need?" the servant asked politely.
"Thank you. This looks wonderful," I said, genuinely appreciating the effort put into the meal.
As I enjoyed the food, savoring the flavors and textures, I thought about the events that had unfolded so far. The Central Academy, the unexpected revelation about my family, and the upcoming adventure in this bustling city—it was a lot to take in.
Once I finished my meal, I decided to meet Sir Adler because he said he would take me to the Auction house.
Ku hopped back onto my shoulder, and as I closed the room, putting my ID inside the Spatial ring, I took the stairs down instead of the Elevation device. I should at least walk after a meal, after all.
After I got down, Mr. Adler was waiting for me at the reception just like he said he would.
"Well, Mr. Ryan, you certainly look handsomer than when I met you earlier, and your beast partner looks adorable!" He said.
My whole life as Ryan Dainsleif, I was always appreciated for my appearance. Now that my hair has grown to touch my back a little, I had to tie it with a hair-band my father gave me. And with the bright sapphire eyes of mine, my father says that I looked more mature than most of my peers.
"You are flattering me, Sir Adler!" I responded with a smile as I continued, "And, this is Ku, my contracted magical beast!" I introduced Ku to him.
Adler smiled as he gently touched Ku as he was sitting on my head.
"KYuuu-" Ku let out a groan as Adler continued, "Haha. Very well now, Let's we proceed?" he asked me.
"Yes, let's depart, sir!" I replied as we both started to walk out of the Central Admissions building.
The carriage was already waiting out front so we just got in and left the area.
In my past life, I have only gone for a handful of auctions that were held in an auction house and after the war started, the buildings was obliterated by the demon army, and the auctions mostly held in the camps, auctioning armors and weapons mostly. And after a long time, I feel excited to see what an auction would be like in this world.
Atlas was an amazing city. I couldn't help but stare at the different sights that came into view as we traveled down the main road.
I could see magic shops, armories, spell books, and even beast core shops! There was everything a mage could ask for. Adults and children were all dressed extravagantly while luxurious carriages passed alongside ours.
Some buildings were several stories high, making this city seem a lot bigger and denser than Luton. Just as we reached the destination, we got off the carriage.
The first thought that had come to mind upon arrival was that Mr. Adler really put a lot of work into this.
The Trident Auction House was breathtaking. It was rather misleading to even call it a house as it towered high above any of the other buildings nearby. I suspected that they had a lot of help from mages from how large it was.
The Auction House was a magnificent theater with intricate designs all over. The main doors were over four meters in height and were made from petrified wood with carved designs on it.
"Woah!" I was pretty impressed with that building just from the look of it.
"So big..Papa, will there be food inside?" Ku asked as I was awe-struck on seeing the auction house.
"Probably Ku. Why wouldn't there be?"
Hearing me, I could feel Ku's excitement.
We arrived early, so only the workers and guards were present, preparing for the event.
The interior proved to be equally, if not more, breathtaking. Upon entering through the front door, a pathway unfolded before us, extending towards a stage at the opposite end. Flanking us on both sides were rows of seats, each tier crafted from sumptuous burgundy leather, providing lavish comfort for over ten thousand attendees.
Gazing upwards, I observed enclosed booths positioned at the pinnacle of the seating sections. Beyond them, at an even greater height, a solitary room was affixed to the ceiling and rear wall, encased in glass for an unobstructed view of the stage. It was evident that these booths, along with the isolated room, were reserved for VIPs.
I would've been fine just sitting in the regular seats, but it turns out, that VIP room on the ceiling was the room I'd be seated in. I asked Mr. Adler but with just a smile, just after making me sit here, Mr. Adler separated from me after he said out the orders towards the workers and readied the hosts to greet the more important guests.
The place was comfortable inside. I could see the carefully-designed and furnished area that was meant for only the most distinguished and wealthy guests. There was a wine rack and a few reclining seats and tables with closer seats by the window. I made myself comfortable on a seat closest to the window.
