Ku let out a delighted "Kyu" at the prospect of exploring a dungeon, but I stayed calm and continued heading inside.
Walking inside, killing all the insect-like magical beasts that came at me, I found myself in another dark region like the one previously just a few seconds after getting farther inside.
And, looking back, I couldn't see anything out of the ordinary on the way. No matter where I looked, all I could see were the dead insects that I had slain, and for some reason, Ku was running around, stuffing himself as he ate all the other small magical beasts that were hiding behind the rocks, such as earth rabbits and even the small insect-like magical beasts I was fighting against.
Guess he is hungry.
I spent far too much time assimilating with Ku's mana and contract, polishing my attributes and techniques alongside the two basic elements I have. For some reason, I got the impression that several mana attributes are coursing down my mana channels now after assimilating with Ku while I already had four of the basic elemental nature in my mana flow.
Well, that's enough of that for now. "What the hell is wrong with this place? Where is the supposedly present Magical Beast boss?" I said to myself.
Just as I increased the brightness of my Flaming lighting, I couldn't help but grumble.
The shredded wings, legs, torsos, and even heads of the bugs — the varied dead bugs' remains were strewn about as far as the light shone. The further down the dungeon the light penetrated, the more remains I could see. There's also a massive room at the end of it all.
"Huh? a massive chamber?" Because I was perplexed, I spoke aloud.
So, if the magical beast is going to be within the Chamber, why the hell did they have such a large dark space filled with dead remains?
I suppose...I will proceed to see what happens.
"Ku! Are you finished?"
"Kyu~ Yes papa!"
"Come on, then! Let's get moving?"
"Kyu!" He made a sound as he sprang from where he was standing and landed on my head.
Let's get this party started.
...
Walking inside, I noticed that the surrounding cave walls were completely covered in magical crystals. These magical stones reflected the light attractively, prompting Ku to exclaim "Kyu" as his eyes began to shine.
To begin with, magical ores are one of the treasures that can be obtained inside dungeons, and many of them are mana-enhanced.
Although each ore contained less mana than a Rune Stone, a magical crystal that is recovered from a higher-rated magical beast, they were usually always found in small quantities, thus if one were able to mine them, one might earn a large profit.
The magical ores can be used to make weapons of high proficiency depending upon the magical capacity it could absorb from the surroundings.
Besides, the magical ores deposits I'd discovered were massive. The enormous cave's whole wall was covered in these stones. I suppose this is what a rank-A magical beast dungeon's interior would be like.
Thinking about it now, I recall that if there were magical ores, there should be a magical beast boss or the real magical beast with a much higher rank than these kinds of lowly insects, residing inside this interior part.
With my current understanding, I can confidently state that the beast should be at least an A to C-ranked Magical Beast boss.
They probably guard them because these magical ores can also gather mana from the surroundings to a single place like this place.
With that, the beast can use the magical ores and develop their mana cores, which we call magical crystals, by eating them.
That kind of explains why Ku is on a hunt, but he could simply eat the magical ores right? he is going around devouring magical beasts instead.
"Rustle"
Ku crawled up to me suddenly.
"Papa! Dark roomie here-eKyu!" Ku commented as I pondered my own thoughts.
"huh? Dark room?" Is that something like a Boss Room? I'm curious.
"Yes! It is!" Ku responded.
Hmm! Yes, I see!
"rustle""rustle"
As a little piece of stone dropped from the cave's ceiling.
Looking up carefully, I was shocked to see what appeared to be a giant spider. After staring at it for a while, I assumed it was fast sleeping because the massive spider didn't move an inch from its location.
There were empty shells of dead insects heaped up as high as a mountain around the Spider.
Many of them were 'half-eaten,' and there were human fluids mixed in with them, suggesting a trash dump full with food waste.
"KYU~" Ku jumped off my head and scurried away.
"Ku, wait! Where are you going?" I hurried after him, confused.
Ku gave out a hazy response, but I could sense his eagerness as he sent out thoughts about his plans to train while I fight the guardian beast.
Well, what can I say. I guess, he'll be okay. Magical beasts have an innate desire to get stronger. After only being born, he must have a lot of dreams.
"Ku! Then, please keep in touch with me as you train, okay?"
"Okyu! papa!"
Oh my, He only recently hatched from his egg, and he is only two hours old. He swiftly adapted to my speaking and eating habits, as well as training himself while fighting low-level Beasts? Ku is a certified genius if you ask me.
"Sighs" I'd better hurry up and kill this monstrous spider. If I go out later at night, it becomes a little more dangerous for us to adventure out of the wilderness to the next city through the teleportation portal.
...
My attention was drawn to the sleeping spider. I remained calm and content since I had a good idea of what was going to happen next.
So, let's get started. Looking back to check on Ku, I spotted him a little further away, fighting with some kind of White-tailed magical beasts, while I smiled and nodded in relief.
Then, after a deep breath, I willed my fire mana flow and released my aura flow. With the newly awakened element that is evolved from my fire mana, the Lightning mana flow that was awakened due to my aura amplification, I willed more firepower with lightning force towards the spider.
FIRE-BOLT
That resulted in a massive spear-like spell with fire manifested as a fire-spear with lightning imbued around it.
"Kaboom!"
As the Spider slept upside down, I shot out lightning and fire, combining both into a heavy Fire-Bolt strike up the ceilings. With stones tumbling around,
"Keurruuuk. Keururuk."
The spider's slumber had been disturbed by the loud explosion, and it was gradually rising its gigantic body up. The body is the size of a small house. There are dozens upon dozens of eyeballs. That dreadful mouth. There are eight long, lengthy legs.
It appeared far more menacing now that it had begun to move for real, rather than when it was actually in a deep slumber.
Oh dear! GULP its..not a?
haha...its a A-ranked Ginormous Tarantula.
