Chapter 9 - The first Adventure

"In the midst of the enjoyment as we were speaking, I asked him my wish because it may be a very good opportunity to ask him now that he had seen my capabilities, even as a seven-year-old.

"Father. I want to go on an adventuring and see the magical beasts inside the forest!" I spoke out.

"Sure!" he replied, with a what?-in my mind, sudden silence filled the room.

I wasn't expecting his okay..this soon.

"Really?" I was certainly excited.

"Yeah. but I have a condition!" he replied with a smile.

I know that expression. What now?

As I was waiting for him to say his condition, "You can go only if I can come along with you Ryan!" he said with a happy face.

Well, that's alright with me. Going along with my father means, I can go into the wilderness for free without being questioned of my age.

Even if he allowed me to go along with some adventuring party, I wouldn't expect anyone to go inside the wilderness with a seven-year-old right?

"Okay!"

...

Two days after my breakthrough, it was already the weekend, and my father got the day off to accompany me to the wilderness and teach me about the magical beasts inside the wilderness. At least that's what he said to me before leaving the magic guild and on the way to the teleportation portal that leads us to the Northern Glades.

The northern glades are located down to the northern mountain rage and have been occupied by the magical beasts. So, we can't possibly go there from the southern side of this world without a teleportation portal.

Lucky for us, the magic guild is located near the teleportation portal in a two-kilometer radius. I think the magic guild is located near the teleportation gate because if the teleportation portal stops or malfunctions, the magic guild would be able to repair it and stuff.

Well, I wouldn't expect a device working on mana crystals of the S-ranked magical beasts to malfunction within a century at least.

Mana crystals are the mana cores of the magical beasts and they contain the mana even after we kill the magical beasts. The mana crystals have an unlimited number of uses, making them very valuable and highly sought after. Of course, the higher the classes of the mana crystals, the more valuable they would be.

Thinking that, I was walking with my father to the teleportation portal. And as we got near the teleportation gate, I was able to see more stores and shops, selling weapons, armors, magic staffs, and the majority of the adventuring stuff. The adventurers and people passing by were all buffed up, and as far as I can sense, each and every adventurer there had a pretty strong mana foundation resulting in their strength. The newbies among them should be at least at the Orange-solid stage. Seems like this world has more to offer yet.

God, I want to grow up soon and become an adventurer.

"Son, do you want anything from here?" My father asked as I was kinda itching to go and take a look at the weapons they were selling.

"Father, I don't have any weapons, and you are the only mage in our party..." I replied as my eyes were fixated on an adventurer carrying a sword.

My father smiled and raised his left hand. It was seem like he willed his mana to his ring he was wearing in his left hand.

The ring shined as he pulled out a dagger from his ring. I didn't know he had a spatial ring before.

"Would this be alright for you?" he said as he handed me the dagger he just pulled out of his spatial ring.

That was unexpected. Well, I at least I now have a weapon and that's all that matters.

The dagger was made with a black blade with a silver-gray hilt. As I swung the dagger around with my body, the weapon seems like a pretty good blade. And if I were to augment mana with the dagger, it would be even more powerful.

"Thank you, father! I like this dagger!" I said to my father as he patted my head after hearing my thanks and held me hands saying, "Let's get going now, shall we?" as we walked near the teleportation portal.

The teleportation portal was guarded by two warriors of the Vrisorid kingdom, and the way it was built is certainly peculiar. The way the mana from the magic crystal kept in the underground to amplify the portal was quite a genius thing to do.

Seeing the portal in awe, I also saw the guards bowing to my father as he is the magic guild's master and let us inside with taking look at my face.

I could tell they were baffled by my size and age, but my father's gaze was enough to break their judgments apart and let us pass through peacefully.

With a smile, my father walked in the portal holding my hands and while I passed through, my senses jolted from the scenery.

The northern mountains were seen far from where we were standing and the chirps of birds, occasional cries and roars of beasts, and the constant sound of water flowing filling the background all created an enticing symphony of nature.

The sight of tall trees and numerous hills covered in various plants and shrubs made it hard to believe that this beautiful landscape was filled with magical beasts capable of killing even the strongest mages.

However, because of abundances of natural resources on the outskirts, it was mostly only the lower-rank beasts that inhabited this area. The deeper an adventurer traversed, the more mysterious and treacherous the landscape turned, filled with the lairs of powerful beasts that have amassed their treasures and power in the solitude of unexplored regions in the Northern Glades.

And just beyond those huge mountain ranges, the eleven kingdom of Woodrow is spread out however, no other race can enter or leave the kingdom without the eleven authorities. No one can even sense the kingdom as it is well hidden somewhere with their kingdom's greatest mages.

"Well, let's go. See if you keep up with me son!" as my father said while I was admiring the surroundings, willing mana into his body, he bolted off into the distance.

My father was a wind mage as well and with his power his mana would just help him for propelling himself even faster.

Well, if that's how you wanna play, I might as well play along.

Willing my wind mana flow to propel my speed along with my newly acquired fire element's mana flow along with the wind mana flow, forming two gales of wind along with my fire mana flow below my feet as I dashed after him.

As soon as I took off, I was already beginning to catch up with my father. Well, I know he isn't going in his full speed because he had to keep watch over me as well. Even so, he was at least running in the speed of a Orange-light staged mana cored wind mage.

"What? how are you doing that?" he asked as he was speeding up.

With only mana manipulation and figuring the atmospheric mana flow, it is second nature for me.

The process is that the atmospheric mana tries to equalize the air pressure at these two spots, forming wind while I move with my wind mana. And adding my fire mana flow into this without its full capacity would give off only heat source.

Generally, the larger the temperature difference, the stronger the resulting winds will be. So, fusing and manipulating my wind mana along with the heat emitting from my fire mana flow, my speed would increase much faster than an ordinary wind mana user at my stage.

Sure, it would mean I will exert more mana, but the manipulation along the way would convert the atmospheric mana and help me gather mana and cultivate myself while using mana and restore myself.
