Chapter 17 - Luke's Story of Lies

Luke pondered, "If everything such as rank and difficulty is the same according to the previous timeline then the method to collect information about the hidden dungeons would also be the same".

In the World of Avernus, Dungeons are created where a monster or a group of monsters or Demons will stay for an extended period of time, clearing them will grant system rewards, and clearing Dungeons founded and recognized as dangerous by the Adventurer's Guild or the Empire will result in a reward from the respective party.

Luke first examined the quest board and went through all of the goblin-related missions since the information such as the location of the base, the projected number of goblins, and any new variation monsters in the group of goblins, if any, were indicated in the quest paper pinned to the board.

Luke approached the 'MAN' on the task counter. Males are also assigned to desk jobs by the Adventure's Guild (for those who hope to find a lovely busty lad...Ahem at any form of support and help kind of Job).

"Sir, are there any kind of missing reports near any nearby goblin settlement?" Luke inquired.

The man glanced up squarely at Luke's face and then inspected Luke. Soon, the man broke out laughing and asked Luke, "A Level 1 Brat and more than that, a Bard even without a party wants to act the hero and save people from a nest of goblins. Haha!"

Suddenly the expression of man changed to that of extreme anger " Do you think that adventures are jok.."

"Sir, I believe you have some kind of misunderstanding about my question," Luke remarked respectfully and quietly so that the adjacent players would not hear their chat. "I'm not asking the question to save the people who are already missing, but I'm gathering this information so that I can avoid those areas because there may be some newly created goblin settlements near the newbie hunting area where I'm about to go, and the information can be easily deduced from missing reports. Collecting this information will also aid in stopping The Guild from creating a missing quest to locate a helpless Bard like myself."

The nice tone, as well as demeaning himself in front of the man, seemed to succeed, as the man at the counter was astounded by Luke's argument. The man said "Oh! I never imagined there might be some cautious adventurers like you. Sorry, lad, but adventures only seek challenges in their lives, which is why there are so many pending reports of missing adventures throughout the year."

While sympathizing with the man, Luke rubbed his dry eyes and pretended to cry before saying, "I know Sir, I have seen many old aged parents of missing adventures coming in and out in rounds either to post a repetitive quest or to at least find some information about their son's and daughter who went missing during their Adventure. Sir, could you also assist me with another basic request concerning the location of a low-level undead hunting area? Because the undead are mindless beings, they are simpler to kill than goblins, who have limited intelligence but excellent coordination in comparison to the mindless undead."

After hearing Luke's request, the man placed a map on the table and began marking certain spots; after some time, he stated while handing the map to Luke. "Lad, I am very impressed with how you care for your life and your cautious nature." Take a look at this map; I've pointed out the locations where the Guild has received current missing person reports as well as locations from some older reports."

Before Luke could respond, the man replied cheerfully, "Don't reject, think of this map as a gift from me and take care of yourself, If you manage to retain your current gift of cautiousness, you can at least preserve your life now and in the future."

Luke thanked the man and took the map before leaving the Adventure's Guild.d.

When Luke was outdoors, he thought, "I take precautions ha-ha! What a joke. Cautiousness and I are poles apart. I did all of this because there is a really simple way to uncover a secret dungeon of goblins. A tiny village of goblins will eat the individual quickly after kidnapping them, therefore the adventurers may easily find out about the missing person from the person's body remains and goblin feces outside their settlement. As a result, the missing person missions are completed by proclaiming the individual as dead. When there are no such remains or faeces, it means that the person has been kidnapped for mating purposes which increases the chance of finding a hidden dungeon in case of goblins which is situated underground. When there are no such remnants or feces, it indicates that the individual has been abducted for breeding reasons, which enhances the likelihood of discovering a hidden dungeon, which is located underground in the case of goblins. This approach was discovered two years after the game's release since players were initially more interested in hunting and level grinding rather than seeking specifics for dungeon treasure hunting. In the first two years, players may only locate the dungeons through quests or luck."

Luke muttered, "Because I joined the game late, many hunting areas were under guild control at the time, and I was unaware of grinding areas during the game's official launch. The low-level undead hunting area is only a warm-up for the main meal, which is goblins because going for goblins at the beginning is suicidal for my character, which lacks an attack skill and excellent stats. I am confident enough in my abilities to fight undead like slicing vegetables, therefore I don't want to spend time on slimes or horned rabbits."

Luke was holding one silver at the moment, which was the quest's increased reward from the tutorial.

The MONEY Denominations in the world were like this:

1. Bronze Coins (the most basic currency with the least monetary value)

2. Silver Coins( 1 Silver Coin = 100 Bronze Coins)

3. Gold Coins (1 Gold Coin = 100 Silver Coin)

4. Black Gold Coins( the currency with the greatest monetary value 1 Black Gold Coin= 10000 Gold Coins)

Luke first went to a Blacksmith's Store and purchased a single-handed mace that can be wielded efficiently with his 5 Strength Points which cost him about 40 Bronze Coins.

Luke then proceeded to the Alchemist Guild and purchased 5 Antidote Potions for Poison as well as a Mortar and Pestle for roughly 50 Bronze Coins.

Luke then went to Rogue's Guild and bought a single syringe for roughly 5 Bronze Coins, and the remaining 5 Bronze Coins were spent on topping up his food and drink supplies.

While leaving for the first zombie region, Luke said, "These preparations should be enough for 'that' basic skill as well as leveling up my Bard Class to Level 10, which will grant me affinity selection."
