Synopsis
It was a very normal day for the inhabitants of planet Earth when an emotionless robotic voice resounded in every creature's mind. "Unawakened Planet#54673242 discovered" "Initiating Awakening" When mankind had finally adapted to these changes, the voice of the System rang once again. "Tutorial has ended. A war will be initiated for the ownership of Planet#54673242." Mankind fought long and hard but they were still no match for their enemies. Mankind lost. Ezekiel or Zeke as his friends knew him, was a researcher. He was one of the wisest humans and there was a spear sticking through his chest. As he was dying, he heard the System's voice. "Activation prerequisites met." "Activating Skill: Glitch???" "Remaining Uses: None" The last thing he heard before dying was, "You human vermin finally lost. This planet now belongs to the...wait! What is happening? Why is the Sys@#$%@$..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a regression novel. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Ashbourne Brothers

Hi there.

Yes, you. Who else would I be talking to?

My name is Ezekiel Ashbourne but you can call me Zeke.

You must be wondering, "Who the hell is this guy? Why is he wasting my time? I came here to read, not talk to a random ass stranger." or something like that.

I'm the protagonist of the book you're about to read.

You see, a mortal named Realm_Weaver somehow discovered me and practically begged me to tell him my life story so he could write a novel. A frigging novel. The audacity of this guy. But I was feeling a bit gracious so I agreed. Aren't I a good Samaritan?

Anyway, I soon discovered that he is an okay guy, a bit dumb, but otherwise okay. So, bear with him if he makes some mistakes. After all, he is but a mortal.

See you later.

PS - I'll be graciously providing my insights through these []. If you want to talk to me, leave a comment with (Ezekiel) otherwise you'll only be able to talk to dumb Realm_Weaver.

Bye. For real this time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"YES!"

"The elixir is finally stable."

A man in a white lab coat said with tears in his eyes as he looked at the two vials in front of him. The liquid in the vials was transparent with a hint of deep red. It was something that he worked for over 20 years. There was only one thing left to do.

"Skill: Creator's Insight"

It was the dream skill of every alchemist, blacksmith, tailor, etc. It allowed one to perfectly analyze their creations and told them everything about them down to the last atom.

---------------------------

Item Name: Unnamed

Item Type: Elixir

Item Grade: EX

A miracle elixir capable of perfectly awakening and melding the Demon and Angel bloodline with the Neo-Human bloodline as the base into a new unnamed bloodline. The weaker the consumer, the better the results. The elixir only works if the consumer is a part of the Morningstar-Ashbourne Bloodline.

Can be used as a deadly poison against beings without this bloodline.

--------------------------

"With this, Helios and Selene can realize their full potential." He then thought of a name for the elixir and the new bloodline that would be created.

"System, name the elixir 'Sanguine Tears of Demonic Angels' and name the bloodline, 'Neo-Nephilim'" as he thought of a myth of a race of hybrids on the Olden Earth. He still couldn't believe that the answer was so simple. Just as he was about to call his sister-in-law to tell her the good news, alarms started blaring.

"We have lo…"

The voice was interrupted by a group of Fae soldiers. Their leader, a purple-skinned man with pointed ears and a pair of butterfly wings spoke, "Ezekiel Ashbourne, brother of the murderer Castiel Ashbourne. Your brother annihilated my clan. I'll enjoy torturing you. You humans have lost. But before all that, you will have the honor of witnessing The Great King of the Fair Folk, His Majesty Oberon, personally massacre all of the remaining humans."

"If you are here, my brother obviously didn't finish the job. He was always more brawn than brain. No wonder a fish slipped by."

Ezekiel tried to fight back but there were too many of them. He even used the elixir on them successfully killing five of them. Eventually, he was captured and dragged outside his lab. A giant made up of light started emerging. Heart-wrenching pain suddenly shot up his brain. It was literally heart-wrenching as a spear was sticking through his chest, piercing his heart. He knew that he was dying. Then he suddenly heard the System's voice.

"Activation prerequisites met."

"Activating Skill: Glitch???"

"Remaining Uses: 0"

The last thing he heard before dying was, "You human vermin have finally lost. This planet now belongs to the...wait! What is happening? Why is the Sys@#$%@$..."

Then everything went black

Ezekiel opened his eyes and found himself in his younger self.

'I thought that I was going to be tortured. Then why am I inside a happy memory of mine?' He thought. He could see his brother training. He remembered this memory. This was the day that they would start school after their parents' death. 'I should scope out the situation first.' He decided to act exactly as he did on that day.

"Zeke, when will you get your head out of those books? You should train with me. We will soon unlock the System. You need strength if you want to level up."

Zeke glanced at his brother and said, "I am training, Cass. The only difference is that you train your body and I, my mind." Then went back to reading. The book's title read, "Monster Biology for Dumbos Vol.1". If anyone had seen a child reading this book, they would be shocked because it was a textbook that was normally taught to eighth graders. Cass knew that he couldn't reason with his twin no matter how hard he tried.

Their names were Castiel and Ezekiel Ashbourne. Both the children looked about eight to nine years old and had identical faces. They both had ash grey hair with platinum blonde streaks and a pair of golden eyes. Although they were identical twins, they couldn't be more different. Cass was muscular for a child his age and had a tanned body. Zeke on the other hand, loved books and rarely trained his body. He had a scholarly aura to him despite his young age.

Just then a woman's voice sounded, "Boys, we're leaving. You don't want to be late on your first day". Zeke kept the book in his bag while Cass replied, "Coming." They both left the house and got in the hovercar. A woman also exited the house and after making sure that it was locked properly, got in the driver's seat.

The trip was mostly silent. When they reached the school, she parked the car and they all got out. Then she looked at the boys. Although the boys greatly resembled their father, she could still see her best friend in them, especially in those golden eyes.

"You guys excited for the first day? Your parents, me, and your Uncle Alexi went to this school too, you know. We made many happy memories here and I hope that you will do the same. Always look out for each other and remember, I love you. Now go, or you'll miss class."

The boys hugged her and said, "Love you too, Aunt Kat" before running towards the school gates. Katherine got back in the car, trying not to worry about the children. She still remembered that night when her best friend, Isabelle, showed up at her door all bloody with the boys. She told her that their city had been attacked by a monster tide and that Magnus stayed back so that they could escape.

After entrusting her with the boys, she breathed her last breath in her arms. After a few days, she received news of Magnus's death. That was a year ago. She was the boys' godmother and got full custody as their godfather, Alexi was still on the frontlines. During this past year, she had come to love them as her own. She just hoped that everything would be alright.

In the school, the boys reported themselves at the reception and were soon escorted to their homeroom. As soon as they entered, they were greeted with curious stares. Their homeroom teacher was a young man with a sunny face. His name was David Wilson. Zeke remembered that he was a devoted teacher who wished the best for his students.

He welcomed them into the class and said, "Class, you will have two new classmates joining you this year." Then he looked at the two of them and said, "Why don't the two of you introduce yourselves."

Cass obviously went first, "My name is Castiel Ashbourne but you can call me Cass. I like eating cookies and training. And remember that I am the older one of us." Then he flexed his biceps earning laughter from the class. "That was a great introduction, Cass. You can take that seat over there." Said David while pointing towards an empty seat.

When it was Zeke's turn, the whole class looked at him eagerly expecting something similar to Cass's introduction. He nearly blushed when he remembered how he had introduced himself that day but he knew that he had to do it.

"My name is Ezekiel Ashbourne but you can call me Zeke. I love reading and even though I'm younger, just by two minutes, I am far more smarter than him." The class just looked at him in silence and his cheeks started heating up. Before it became too awkward, the children began laughing once again.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. Zeke and Cass were brushing their teeth. Cass was done early so he went to bed. Zeke looked at his reflection in the mirror and thought, 'It was a fun day. I don't know what's going on but if those Fair Folk bastards are involved, then it certainly can't be anything good. I must leave this illusion. It seems that I can only do that.'

He then began making a series of strange sounds. When he was done, he expected death to embrace him immediately but nothing happened. When he was younger, he had expected to be captured one day and made a System Oath that he would never make these particular sounds in this particular order. If he was ever captured, he could simply make those sounds, and the System would erase him for breaking a System Oath.

He called, "System?" but nothing responded. His brain started working at a hyper-speed before he came to a conclusion. He had regressed. He didn't know how or why, he just knew that he had regressed. After realizing this, he rushed towards Cass's room and hugged his brother. He had unknowingly started crying. Cass didn't know what was going so he just tried his best to comfort his brother.

A knocking sound came from the door. "Boys, is everything okay?" It was Katherine. With her supernatural hearing, she could tell that one of them was crying. "I'm coming in." She entered the room only to see Cass comforting a crying Zeke.

She also joined the hug and held them tight. Zeke gradually fell asleep from all the crying so she gently picked him up and put him on Cass's bed. The boy was clearly going through something, and maybe his brother's company could help.

[Dumb Realm_Weaver forgot to mention that humans and most sentient races unlock the System on their tenth birthday.]
