After a brief knock, the bedroom door swung open. Lewis stood at the door, then entered and shut it. "His name , Lewis. He's my assistant and best friend." Sean introduce him to me.
"Hello," I said quickly.
"How are you doing this afternoon, Katelyn?" Lewis stated.
"Better," I replied.
"There are several documents that need you to sign," Lewis said as he approached Sean, handing him several folders and a laptop. "Alden also left a message if there are several emails that you need to reply to." He went on to say. Sean accepted the folder and laptop with a nod. "How are things going at home?" Have you finished organizing everything? Lewis gave a nod. "Aunt Jen and Uncle Sam are already prepared. Please contact me once you have completed the documents."
Sean agreed by raising his brows. Lewis said his goodbyes and returned to the office to assist Alden.
"Sean, may I ask a question?" I cleared my throat. "I have many questions."
" Sure Katelyn, of course. What exactly do you want to know?" he replied.
"Um, the names you mentioned earlier, first Alden and Elena, I want to know about them." Sean piqued my interest.
"Alden is a college friend of mine. He joined my company as a representative after graduating. He first met Elena at our high school reunion. Elena went to the reunion with her cousin. "And finally, they're dating right now," Sean explained.
"What about my friend? "Are you familiar with them?"
"Of course I know. Rachel is your best friend. You're from the same school. However, Rachel is currently living in another country with her parents. I haven't told you what happened to you. 'I'm sorry, I forgot to tell him,' Sean admitted, a guilty expression on his face.
"Don't do it. Let it be. There's no need to inform her. "I'm not ready yet."I argued.
"Yes, my lady," Sean said, stroking my hair.
"What else do you want to ask, darling?" Sean blurted out. "Sorry, I'm used to calling yo u Darling."
" It's okay Sean. You may address me as you see fit. But I apologize if I'm not used to hearing it. "Perhaps I should adjust first," I replied. "Then I'll call you Darling like before," he said softly.
I nodded in response to his words. "My family?"
"Your father is Albert Johnson, and your mother is Laura Smith." After our wedding, they are on their way to see your relatives. Meanwhile, my father is Justin Alexander Jones, and my mother is Sara Williams. They are on vacation in Europe to celebrate their son's wedding. "It's not us on honeymoon, it's them," Sean joked. I laughed as well when I heard that.
"Do I have any siblings?" What are their given names? "How many children do my parents have?" I went on." What about you? " I barraged him with questions at once.
"We are both the only children." Sean informed me. "Ohhh," I murmured.
"They have no idea what happened to you. I have not informed them yet." Sean stated.
"No need!!" I responded immediately. "I mean, I'm fine. Please do not bother them. Besides, I still don't have courage to meet them right now. I'm still worried and don't know how to treat them."
" I see what you mean. I'm not going to tell them first. We should wait for them to get home first. But if they ask, I won't be able to cover it, darling. I'll tell them what happened, and I'm sure they'll find out sooner or later. "Don't be afraid; I'll always be there for you."
Sean reassured me, hugged me, and patted my back to make me feel better. Surprisingly, it all works for me. I believe this is Katelyn's lingering love for Sean.
A hospital officer knocked on the door, brought a tray of food inside, and then excused himself and left the room.
Sean let go of his hug and reach for the tray. He brought the tray over to me. "I'd better clean myself first, I'm already uncomfortable," I said flatly. "OK," Sean said. He shifted the tray away from me and assisted me in getting out of bed.
I swayed because I hadn't stood up all day. Sean snatched my waist from swaying. From now on, I must accept all of Sean's treatment of me, just as he did to his wife Katelyn. Furthermore, his gentle treatment made me feel at ease, so I did not reject him.
When I emerged from the bathroom, Sean stood guard at the door. He grabbed my body and carried me back.
The sound of knocking on the door filled the room again, Alden and Elena emerged from the open door showing both of their smiles.
"Hi Katelyn, I'll check on you. The bandage on your head needs to be changed. If everything turn out good, you can go home tomorrow because the test results are all good. " Elena stated.
"We still have pay attention to your wound on your head. It still need treatment," said Alden.
I smiled "Thank you Elena. Sorry to bother you Alden"
Alden smiled again while Elena approached me. She checked my wound and changed the bandage while talking to me. "The wound is starting to heal. You can go home tomorrow. Don't forget to use the ointment so it doesn't leave marks on your face. "
I nodded my head. Elena glanced at the tray which was still intact. "Don't forget to take your medicine after eating. OK, I'll just have to check on the other patients. Tomorrow I will come here again. Sean, I'll leave Katelyn to you," continued Elena.
Sean gave Elena a thumbs up sign. "Don't worry, of course I will take good care of my wife. Thank you Elena"
"Let me know when you are finished with your work El. I'll take you home. ' said Alden to Elena.
"Okay" answered Elena and she came out of my room.
Sean brought the food tray closer to me after Elena had left, preparing everything for me. Before he fed me, I said, "I can eat myself." "Sean, go get your meal with Alden "
"I'm not hungry yet," Sean clarified. I was irritated without realizing it when I heard his answer. My lips pursed. Sean stroked my cheek and said, "Don't be angry." OK, I'll eat with Alden for a while. "Wait here, I'll be right back." He kissed my lips, forcing me to hold my breath for a few seconds. My face flushed with embarrassment, especially since Alden was watching. Alden responded with a light laugh, rising from his chair and dragging Sean out of the room.
