Before Lewis could respond, the bedroom door opened and a woman rushed in, wearing a white coat and a stethoscope around her neck. "Oh, you're awake now. I thought something might happened to you. Alden just told me to come here immediately so I rushed here. Glad to know you are alright, Katelyn " she said when she saw me.
"To ensure that everything is in order, you're going to have some tests today. You should start preparing now. I'll tell my team to get everything ready right away. They will pick you up once everything is ready." She continued and dialed a number from the room's phone, spoke briefly then hung up.
"Doctor," I called as I continued my action.
The lady turned around. "Don't call me, doctor. Call as usual., Katelyn," she asked with a smile.
"What should I call you?" I inquired.
Her smile gone and her lips pursed. " There is no need to call me doctor. Just call my name. You always called me only by name"
"Would you tell me what is your name, doctor? " I replied.
She turn her gaze from me to Alden to ask him what had happened with her eyes. Her expression changed when she saw Alden's shrugged response.
" What exactly do you mean? My name is Elena," she says as she approaches me.
" Do you really forget my name ? " she asked me.
"Hello, Elena," I said with a grin.
She gave me a smile before examining my body seriously and asking me several simple questions. I just shook my head and remained silent because I didn't know what to say or how to respond to her.
"Don't worry, Katelyn... everything will be fine. We'll start with a test and then look at the results before we do anything about it. " she sighed.
A nurse entered pushing a wheelchair and bowed to Elena before approaching me. Elena chimed in "Maria will help you take to the test room, Kate."
I'm simply nodding my head. I glanced at Sean when Maria drew the wheelchair closer to me and assisted me in standing and moving to sit in it. He approached me and seemed want to help but hesitated to do it. Finally he was just tiding my dress after I sat on the wheelchair. When Maria find me already comfortably sitting in the wheel chair, she then shoved me out of the room.
"I'll catch up with you in a moment," Doctor Elena said as she turned to face the three men in the room. "Can we talk later in my room after the test results are finished?"
"Yes, Of course. I'm not going to leave Katelyn alone either. I'll accompany her and stay close by her. In fact what happened to Katelyn and why is she acting this way?" Sean inquired.
"Umm, she appears to have amnesia, but I won't draw any conclusions yet until I see the test results. We should wait first. I'll keep an eye on the test's progress." Elena elaborated. Then they all followed the doctor exited the room and headed to the place where they brought Katelyn. They wait at the front door of the room but Elena informed them it will took some hours to do all the various tests. Alden and Lewis decided to go to the office and finish the works while Sean stayed there until Katelyn was done with all the tests. He pushed the wheel chair while Maria walked in front of them to make a way for the wheelchair.
They arrived in front of the room. Maria opened the door and Sean pushed the wheelchair next to the bed. After assisting Katelyn in getting back into bed, Maria exited the room.
Sean was the only one in the room. I'm not sure where Lewis and Alden are. He sat beside my bed after Maria had left. He grabbed a glass of warm water beside my bed, and offered me to drink. "Drink it first. I bet you are thirsty after going through various tests."
I took a long, slow sip. My thirst vanished as soon as the water touched my throat. I emptied the water in the glass.
Sean replaced the glass on the table next to my bed and took the hospital's food tray. "You must be starving, Katelyn. You haven't eaten since yesterday. "
Yes, that's correct. I'm thirsty and hungry. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday. I only drank a small amount of the warm tea Sean had given me at the time. I swallowed and cleared my throat. "Ehheemmm... Yes, I'm hungry."
Sean fed me slowly until I had finished all of the meal. I just accept what he did for me because I couldn't bear refusing him and I was starving. So I'm not going to argue with him. He sat down next to me again after returning the tray to its original location.
Lewis and Alden appeared through the door, holding paper bags. "Hello Katelyn, do you feel better?" they asked. I slowly nodded. They proceeded to the sofa and placed the paper bag they had brought on the table.
"Sean, let's eat," Alden said as they sat down." You need food to be able to care for Katelyn. Don't make yourself sick as well. The test results will be available soon. Elena will contact me as soon as she got the result."
Sean nodded and walked over to them. They ate their food while occasionally discussing their jobs. I just listened to them and had no idea what they were saying. I noticed they had finished their meal.
Sean approached me and sat next to me while I lay with my back towarda him. Sean kissed me on the back of my head. My muscles tensed. I clenched my fists to keep the sensation from spreading throughout my body. Not only that, but Sean gently stroked my back. Surprisingly, I felt very at ease with his treatment of me. The feeling of comfort turned into drowsiness, and I eventually fell asleep.
