He then proceeded to walk towards the Orb floating above the altar.

It was then that he realised that the altar had served the purpose of a filter to purify the life energy from the killed souls.

Words got out and the whole city eventually knew about it. After much deliberation, they decided to give the corpses below a proper burial. They would all be cremated with all due ceremonies.
Damien's body however, was burned at a stake along with everyone involved and their ashes were cemented to a monument near the castle as a reminder of what had happened.
Kiel's also took the opportunity to bury the broken sword and stab the sword hilt over the monument, as a token that Thorgen had been avenged.
After that, Kiel rested in the Castle to recuperate his body and mind.
Four days later, he bid everyone farewell and left the level, returning to the tower.

Weapons were usually the easiest to upgrade. Apart from the rare materials, there were usually plenty of blacksmiths who could do it.
Accessories on the other hand, were notorious. Other than rare materials, specialised artisant were so rare that they were almost non-existent.
So now that narrows it down to 2, Necklace or Ring.
Inventory rings were notoriously difficult to upgrade. But there are always bigger rings he could replace them with or additional rings he could wear.
The necklace on the other hand should be unique and it is of great importance to him.

This event made him avoid human interaction and lost his faith and trust to all human beings in general.
Watching this woman being brutalised in the open where no one helped felt him with despair and distrust.
This was not in some corner where no one was able to see or help.
This was in a wide open hall with hundreds and thousands of people looking on and doing nothing.
Later on this woman grew to be a very powerful mage and killed these 8 hooligans in the most painful way possible.
She also became one of the most difficult people to work with due to her distrust and vengeful nature.
He smiled recalling how infatuated he had been with this woman.
But now, he simply felt calm.
Walking towards her, Kiel extended a hand and helped her up.
As she got up, he realised she was still as beautiful as he had remembered when he first saw her.
The 'her' after today in his past life was unbearable to look at.
What a pitiful woman.
