Thomas Wilson
She changed so much. It surprised me that she was so different. She was nothing like what she was when she was in high school. There were no similarities with Ana from back then and Ana now.
When she got out of the car and stood up to that man I knew she was the Ana I knew from high school but she was also not the Ana I knew. Ana never got mad at anyone no matter what they did. She was always level-headed and fierce. No... She was more fierce than she ever was in high school and her temper was different from back then. She was Ana but not the one I knew like the back of my hand…

"Thomas, my name is Mmakwena, not Ana," she said pouting.
"but I like calling you Ana," I whined.
"I won't talk to you if you call me Ana again," she said, hitting my shoulder frowning.
"I call you Ana because of your last name," I said, holding her hand gently.
She froze and stared at me stunned. Her last name proved to be difficult for me to pronounce so I shortened it for myself. Ana. I was the only one who called her that.
"Then I'll call you Son from now on," she teased cheekily.
"Oh, God, don't!" I groaned.
"Why? Don't you like it, Son?" She asked, smirking.
I pulled her close by the waist until our lips were inches apart. Her eyes grew big flustered by how near we were. Her heartbeat was pounding against my chest. Her eyes gazed at me...Her beautiful brown eyes resembled the desert yet they also resembled fertile soil.
"I will kiss you every time you call me Son and that's a promise," I told her as I kissed her cheeks.
She froze and I laughed at her.

"I thought you were going to be a professional volleyball player." she said looking out of the window.
"I got bored of it." I lied.
How could I become a professional volleyball player when she was the only reason I played volleyball? At first, I started playing it because it was fun for a small period of time but then she told me she wanted to learn it and my interest in it came back but when she left...I left it...
***
"Tommy, I want to learn volleyball. It seems very interesting." she let out sighing.
"I can play volleyball." I replied.
"Really?" she asked excitedly.
"Yeah." I said.
"But why aren't you on the school's volleyball team?" She questioned, frowning.
"Because I enjoy spending my time with you Ana." I answered, smiling.
***
"You would've been a great player," she spoke out.
"Maybe." I responded nonchalantly.
She scoffed looking at me before looking out of the window. It was so awkward as we sat in the car. The only thing we could hear was the cars as we drove past them. Neither of us spoke and we just sat driving to the hotel.
"So how have you been?" I asked.
"I have been great." she answered.
"That's good." I replied, nodding my head.
She was hostile and I do not blame her, I did treat her badly, back then. I broke her heart and no one else.
"How have you been?" she asked after a while.
"I've been okay." I answered.
"Cool." she replied.
"I still can't believe it's been eleven years." I said in an attempt to converse with her.
She hummed and nodded her head. A smile curved up her lips and I felt my heart flutter. Her smile was still as beautiful as I remembered.
"Any big changes in your life?" I asked hoping she would tell me something good.
"Yeah, I found someone better, Someone who treats me the way I deserve to be treated." she answered, smiling softly.
Her words cut me like a dagger stabbing a monster. I stared at her smiling. Fuck, I wanted to stab the shitbag making her happy like this. I wanted to carve him into a dog and drag him like one. I wanted to kill him, turn him into ashes and flush him down the toilet. I wanted him to be dead.
"That's good to hear." I lied
"It truly is." She answered lightly playing drums on her lap.
"Who is he?" I asked after a few moments of silence.
"Thato that's his name." she answered smiling.
"He is an absolute gentleman." She added.
Her smile was so bright and broad and it scared me as well as broke my heart.
"Do you want to see a picture?" She asked when I didn't say anything.
"Sure." I answered fake smiling.
Let me see the douchebag that thinks he can have my Ana. She showed me a picture of a man. He's probably five-nine feet tall.
"He is in the IT department." she told me happily.
"I'm happy for you An…I mean Detective Ank-wana," I spoke as I grinned.
"Thanks." She grinned happily.
He isn't worth her. She deserves better… She deserves everything the universe has to offer and is.
I gripped tightly on the steering wheel tightly when something caught my attention.
"Detective, do you mind if we make a quick stop?" I asked her.
"Quick stop?" she asked, bewildered and surprised.
"Yes, I'm actually a bit hungry, aren't you hungry?" I ask her.
"We can order food when we get to the hotel." she answers shrugging.
"We?" I asked, amused.
Her eyes popped out as she stared at me in disbelief.
She was flustered by what I said and It reminded me of all the times I would flirt with her and she would be a complete blushing mess.
***
"Tommy, You're not funny, I will end this call if you keep saying all these ridiculous things." She whined frustrated.
"Awww, so I'm not allowed to flirt with my girlfriend." I asked dramatically, sighing.
***
"Son, you are very shameless." she said laughing.
"Ana, sweetheart, I told you that I would kiss you if you called me son." I warned jokingly.
"You are so Shameless." she let out, flabbergasted.
"Detective, I never said anything shameless but it seems you were having shameless thoughts," I said turning the car towards a fast food restaurant 'Readilie'
"I…I…I never thought about anything shameless!" She squeaked out stuttering.
"Oh, really?" I mocked her as I parked the car in the parking lot at 'Readilie'.
"Yes!" she exclaimed bewildered.
"Then why did you say I'm shameless?" I asked leaning close to her.
She froze and stared at me startled. I smirked as I moved away and got out of the car. She is still the same Ana I knew. I smiled walking into the restaurant, taking my phone out and making a phone call.
Tatoe or whoever you are, I'm going to break your relationship with her. She deserves better and I know I can be the man she wants.
I entered the restaurant and ordered to go. I called him up waiting for him to pick up.
"Use those skills of yours." I spoke the moment he picked up.
"I'm busy."
"Are you? Are you really busy?" I asked him.
"Wilson, I'm practising so I am really busy."
"Choi, you are my best friend." I reasoned.
"I'll do it later." Choi told me.
"Please, I just need you to..."
