Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

(Luna vs Aurora's Hoard)

Her Aura quickly condensed back into her Armor and Weapons thanks to the influence of her Crafting- and Artifact-related Skills on it as she launched herself back into the battle, her left blade thrusting to the throat of the axe wielding one, this last one barely dodging by falling to the ground before quickly spinning around to try and sever her head with a long blade made out of solid darkness from the ground.

Luna didn't hesitate, rising an hand and stopping the other's attack dead by grabbing the blade within her hand, stunning the Dragonoid long enough for her to step on him hard, embedding him deeply in the ground before the Weapon she just let go of, turned into a circular shield upon the Vampiric one's back to block the Wind-infused punch without moving atop her next target.

Her foot upon his body rose slightly before falling back down with force upon him, her hand holding his construct clenching hard and shattering it into pieces, spinning her Weapon in her other hand once before thrusting it violently down towards his heart.

The earth under them suddently moved thanks to the influence of one of the Dragonoids to try and save their Hoard-mate while this last one sent various tendrils of water to pierce his opponent's body but she did not hesitate, releasing briefly her Armor and Weapons in a burst of Aura to forcefully destabilize the attack thanks to the influence of "Authority: Vital Mana" before reforming, her feet no longer landing on the ground but on a solid layer of Vital Mana.

Luna immediately thrusted, impaling the retreating Dragonoid on the ground by the shoulder, barely missing his heart before breathing in deeply once, Vital Energy being forcefully channeled to within her Spear before it exploded in a blast of destruction starting within his body.

Fire and Lightning ravaged the ground, cracks and cuts spreading violently all around, further simultaneous blows raining forward and underneath the two of them.

The Water and Dark Dragonoid found remains of his right arm flying away, seriously damage, a hole consuming most if not all of his chest as the rest of his body was ravaged by Fire, Lightning and slashes as most of his blood simply ceased to be in an instant, bleeding Vital Energy in an effort to not die immediately following the previous blow.

This however didn't leave him any option to resist the following blow, Luna rising her left foot before stomping on his head, hard enough to destroy it completely, forcefully draining his blood and taking in his Soul.

She quickly examined his Soul in search of a Water- or Dark-Attribute Skill she could make a new Familiar out of but she found none to her displeasure as he merely used the Skill "Elemental Manifestation", before she was about to devour it, however, she found an Innate Skill that Humans rarely are born with.

Skill that she did not hesitate to take for her own.

*Luna Gains 100 + 7 Magicules.

*Familiar Warden Gains the Skill "Adaptability".

This Skill was without a doubt incredibly useful starting from E-Rank.

Upon recieving Damage it would increased both temporarily and permanently the Resistance of the owner to the source, even if with a limit.

And the effect she enjoyed from her Aura was easy for her to understand as her Aura Shield was being assaulted by all manners of attacks and, as a conseguence, her Aura in general became more and more Resistant to them, even if in her case by only a slight amount and only temporarily.

Even so this Skill was useful to her in reducing the amount of both willpower and Vital Mana she needed to deal with the attacks of her meals while she fully turned her attention towards the other Dragonoids dodging one after the other the boulders sent forward by one of the mage while the other was Casting a large-scale Spell.

Luna let her, concentrating on the rapidly approaching Fist-based C-Ranked one, wind bending around her to accelerate her movements as the two quickly met, fists and claws clad in wind and Mana being deflected by hands covered in gauntlets made of solid Energy while at the same time deflecting the answering blows, spikes appearing from all around the two trying to impale the Vampiric one.

The ground underneath the two suddently rose, the two being violently and suddently sent flying up by a Spell of the Earth Dragonoid while electricity condensed high above the two in a single point.

Before Luna could dodge, the Air Dragonoid grabbed her hands in a moment of surprise to keep her still.

Thunder overwhelmed all other sounds as a five meters wide lightning fell similarly to a ray of light on the two of them, the rock underneath the two shattering immediately to ground level.

Immediately a dome made out of hardened stone rose around where the Dragonoid believed their target to be, assuming her survival without hesitation or doubt before starting to swiftly Chant, reinforcing the defense of her shield.

The Air-Attribute Dragonoid posed herself before her two Hoard-mates, her eyes continuously searching for any traces of her Master's latest fascination, the air around the three solidifying in a shield to protect them while the Lightning-Attribute one was slowly increasing the static in the air to render following Spells easier and to try and Paralyze their future Hoard-mate.

Silence stretched on for what felt like an eternity.

A fist clad in violent iridescent Energy pierced the dome keeping its owner trapped.

The dome subsequently shattered as Luna used the hole she just forced in the wall to widen it enough for her to walk out of it, her Unique Arma altered slightly under the influence of the mysterious Energy surrounding her, her red eyes shining brightly as her bloodlust raged without limits.

The battle restarted as Luna released from her Auric Bow a beam of Energy.

(Amber vs Aurora)

The blonde accumulated fire around her before releasing it in an instant, closing the distance and causing a line of melted rock in the ground as her Blade rose in a violent slash.

The azure-haired one stepped forward, ice quickly covering her arms hand as she punched forward with her left hand, the ice forming something akin to a lance to stab through the other's body and a shield around her right arm.

Both attack landed at the same time.

An arm covered in ice flew away, golden and purple flames slowly spreading and devouring it.

A lance of ice pierced straight through Amber's chest and beyond her back.

The Demonic one's Aura expanded for an instant together with her grin as she forcefully grabbed her enemy's hand.

A fireball above the two destabilized, releasing a rain of fire that covered the two in an instant before the Phoenix punched with a fist covered in Aura and flames, sending the Dragon flying away from the still raining fire.

The reason for such was simple, really, and based entirely on her specific type of Resistance against Fire Damage.

To explain Damage Resistance easily, giving as an example a Resistance Threshold of 100.

With a Resistance-type Skill, Damage under 100 is halved; With an Immunity-type Skill, Damage under 100 is negated; With a Nullification-type Skill, the Damage is mitigated by 100; Finally with an Absorption-type Skill, like Amber's "Fire Absorption", the Damage is mitigated by 100 and she would gain Vital Energy and Mana equivalent to half the mitigated Damage.

In this situation Amber used a previously Casted Spell, altered to the point it would have theoretically woulded herself to recover the Vital Energy spent to heal from the previous attack and more Mana that the Spell itself required to be Cast.

Aurora watched carefully as Amber stepped away from the fire only to step back suddently, her leg suddently encased in short-lived ice caused by her own efforts.

Said efforts being her Bestowal of a rock with a Name, rock that Amber inadvertibly stepped on just now.

All the same this was not a significant attack as it was merely a rock to be Named yet this was a tactic that she was quite familiar with as her plan was to become strong enough to be able to Name her entire mountain at once as a single Entity to function as both fortress, focusing array to expand and increase her control over her Territory and accumulate Magicules for both herself and her Hoard both more efficiently and at an accelerated speed.

At thinking about her mountain, she forlornly observed where her mountain formerly resided before sighing and returning to the battle.

So long as she could make hers both the Phoenix and the Vampiric one, it didn't matter even if her entire Hoard would be annihilated as the twos value was much higher when it comes to being part of an Hoard and she could always seek a new mountain.

Amber sent forward a wave of fire that Aurora blocked with a wall of ice before she dodged the sword covered in fire thrown by the blonde, this last one falling in a kick centered towards her new location.

The Tyrant crossed her hands, blocking the harsh kick from the Phoenix, her feet shattering the ground underneath her in an instant, her legs briefly bowing before she straightened, sending away the Demon Phoenix that rolled while still in the sky, landing on her feet before immediately dashing back to her enemy, her hands clad in a mix of Aura and golden-purple flames launching fist after fist that Aurora dodged one after another, her lost arm slowly healing.

Suddently, as Amber made to punch, she opened her hand, her previously thrown Arma appearing back in her hand transforming what would have been a dodged blow into a deep slash that opened the red-eyed one for an harsh punch that sent her flying back.

Aurora breathed in deeply once before releasing an "Elemental Roar", a wide beam of Cold Mana that froze solid the ground before her, Amber having previously jumped hign in the sky to dodge it before falling down in a dive to kick in the back of the head her enemy.
