Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

(Luna vs Aurora's Hoard)

Everything before Luna was instantly destroyed in a wave of force while the Air Dragonoid hurriedly grabbed her two Hoard-mates and threw them away from the blast, air solidifying before her in a barrier to buy herself enough time to dodge most of the incoming blow.

Thing that she succeded in doing with just some burns and cuts on her formerly crossed arms before she sent forward her own "Breath Attack", a wave of concentrated wind that Luna casually stepped around before sending in response her own attack, but this one was quite different from her previous ones.

She nocked an Arrow into her Bow, pulling it with force, before pointing at the sky.

"[Ruinous Star]."

At the calm declaration, the Arrow was launched at incredible speed.

It spun on itself, seeming to drill into the air faster and faster while at the same time twisting on itself, in a way that seemed to be incredibly slow while being too fast for the eye to see, becoming first a line then stopping high in the sky, becoming a small sphere floating .

One second passed.

It rippled once, becoming smaller, the sky above the four of them becoming an empty void illuminated only by its light.

Two seconds passed.

It rippled twice, becoming even faintier, the empty void being gradually filled by various lights as if stars in the night sky.

Three seconds passed

It rippled thrice, ceasing to be.

And once the ripple reached the other stars, they too released a ripple.

And once this ripples reached other stars, beams of iridescent Energy fell upon her three future meals continuously, ripples causing further ripples and beams of Energy.

And so Luna admired the spectacle with a smile on her face, a continuous series of light falling from the sky as if a meteor shower only for them to impact the ground and explode in waves of destruction and for new meteors to follow their way.

The explosions continued endlessly, a minute straight passing without any sign of it stopping or weakening at all, as she continued to admire her Art, absolutely bewitched by the sight as was natural.

After all, even if altered to become a combat-specialized Art, this was in origin an Art Scarlet made to show Azure a meteor shower as a gift, Art called [Falling Stars] when employed as a spectacle instead.

All the same it was still a beautiful yet deadly Art, capable of lasting theoretically forever as the explosions were used as fuel for further attacks and so was the Energy all around them even that of the various defensive measures by her targets, being incanalated for further attacks.

And this was not all as she was able to modify her Art further, thanks to the old Vampire's research and teachings combined with the Moon's Records, granting it the ability to seek its specific targets, in this case the three Dragonoids, in its radius and, additionally, it is now rendered indipendent from her own will and needing no concentration or to stand still anymore.

Suddently Luna lifted her right leg, dodging a pair of hands made of stone rising from the ground that were trying to grab her before stomping down, releasing a wave of Aura down in the ground to negate her meal's influence on it.

Luna nodded to herself, forcefully dragging her attention away from her own attack and towards her opponents.

It wasn't strange that even now they were surviving under her assaults, proof of the Dragon's intelligence even while deprived of rationality, as the four Dragonoids at C-Rank had each a different main Affinity manifested by the Skill "Elemental Manifestation".

The Dark and Water axe guy would normally be nothing special as it had a low Affinity with his Attributes or Magic in general however it had the Skill "Adaptability" that rendered the Conversion from Human to Dragonoid faster and cheaper and rendered him a natural long-term shield for the other three and his Master.

The Air fist girl was instead the most effective at both supporting the others and the fastest outside of short bursts.

The Lightning Caster was able to make bursts of speed if necessary but she had also the highest direct offensive potential while the Earth Caster had the greated defensive potential, being able to shield them if necessary as she was doing right now by defending all three of them by her attack.

Her interest in their Master was increasing as she decided the other would be hers once her Amber finished her battle.

All the same, however, it wasn't enough as demonstrated by the desperate attack just now as they must have understood her attack would not stop anytime soon and their Energy would be depleted with them later dying.

The Earth-Attribute one must have tried to attack her to disrupt her concentration and hoping to end her attack but she failed and instead led to Luna remembering her meals still existed.

The Vampiric one quickly calculated the location of the three remaining Dragonoids, using the trajectories of her "stars", finding them to be slowly and gradually sinking deeper and deeper underground.

In response, she had only one thing left to do.

Quickly the Material Illusion jumped high in the sky, above the bounds of her Art and precisely above its center, Arrow yet again nocked.

Said Arrow was launched, spinning on itself quick enough to twist the air around it as it fell violently on the three Dragonoids' hideout, this time without the use of a particular Art.

The ground ruptured at once, causing an eruption that sent most of the cover protecting her targets away and weakening the ground enough for her "meteors" to shred the remaining barrier before further raining on her meals.

Luna slowly and calmly floated down from the sky, the void in the sky slowly dissipating as were the stars, her feet landing on the ground as she looked down on the three or more precisely on the one still alive, three blades made out of Black Blood floating above her and ready for her to take them in.

"Any last words?" She asked the last remaining Dragonoid alive, the Lightning-Attribute one.

This last remaining one merely glared back before suddently grabbing her ankle with force.

While the Air- and Earth-Attribute Dragonoids were forming the barrier to block the other's assault, by solidifying wind and Shaping and fortifying the stone respectively, and protecting her with their last breathes, she was preparing this Spell, a Spell based entirely on her Skill of "Lightning-Attribute Druidry" that she normally used by manipulating her "Elemental Manifestation" instead of manipulating Energy from and to the Plane of Roars.

What she did was simple and based on a legend of the past, that of the birth of the Emperor of Flames, an ancient Spiritual Mage long dead.

According to said legend, he had a teacher that was a Fire-Attribute specialized Druid that was nearing his death.

In a story that would have been quite familiar to Luna, instead of fighting it, he searched for an apprentice to impart his knowledge to before his passing and found said future Emperor, noted his talent and decided to teach him.

Once he learned as much as he could from him, the old Mage led the two of them in a vast forest and proceded to burn it and his own life at once, creating a vast, even if temporarily, Gate to the Plane of Rampages where said student formed a Pact with a Spirit King, this last one impressed with both teacher and student.

Similarly to that example, the Dragonoid sacrificed her life to manifest a brief Gate to the Plane of Roars not to allow a Spirit or an Elemental through but to release a giant mass of Lightning Energy directly within the white-haired one's body.

Luna fell, a scream of pain being torn from her throat as she fell on her knees, her organs being gravely damaged as she was barely able to remain concious thanks exclusively to her Mental Skills mixed with her high natural Resistances.

All the same she was not able to move or to even use her now fallen blood to devour the three Dragonoids' corpses or heal for a while.

Barely breathing, Luna once again grieved the fact that she really did not understand the motivation of other People.

However her eyes were focused on her preys well aware that at their level of power, their Souls would take a little over one hour before returning to Gaea's Core, while she was thinking about her Amber, wondering briefly if she would succed in her battle before starting to concentrate on healing from the last attack.

This battle was over and the winner was Luna.

However she needed at least 35 minutes before she healed enough to take in the three Dragonoids and before then she certainly could not interfere with Amber's fight.

-

(Amber vs Aurora)

The kick landed hard as Aurora fell briefly on her knees, flames washing over her before she released a wave of Aura in turn, pushing her away from her, before striking with a tail covered in an armor of ice and Aura, ice spikes following after the bird-like one.

In response Amber concentrated her flames around her Unique Arma and precisely severed the spikes, thing she was quite accustomed to thanks to her training with the hot and psycho that was known by the name of Luna.

As such she was more than cognizant enough to dodge the next attack, a miniaturized iceberg being thrown without any hesitation, flying well above it and preparing to attack with a fireball held in her right hand only to hesitate upon seeing her enemy's expression.

"They all died? How dare she?! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! Unforgivable! She will pay!" Aurora focused on the target before her, a cruel yet obsessive light in her eyes.

Amber shuddered, moving slightly away from her enemy before concentrating on the fight before her, aware of the fact it was now either much harder or easier depending on how the other would behave.
