"Won't they just shut the fuck up?" Bellator whispered to himself, annoyed. Even after a day, everyone was still talking about him as new rumors continued reaching his ears.
Their incessant noise irked Bellator, reminiscent of a mosquito continuously buzzing in your ear.
The rumors had escalated quickly, from him being a bastard child to fake rumors, such as him trying to become the main heir of the Arctic guild.
"Where do they even hear this nonsense from?" he thought, annoyed, as new rumors swirled around.
Though all the incessant whispering was quickly put to a stop, as from nowhere, Vespera appeared.
Still surprised by their teacher's almost invisible presence, the students quickly headed to their seats.
"No more lazing around today; the academy officially starts. But before that, we have weapon selection in the auditorium," Vespera said, her voice traveling through the classroom.
Starting with roll call, all the students were quickly led to the auditorium. Along the way, laughter filled the air as the students mingled.
"So I'm a loner in this life too," Bellator thought, chuckling, his figure moving alone.
Not too far away from him, he noticed another figure walking alone. Her green hair looked neat as the dark bags under her eyes seemed to have only gotten worse. Sweat glistened on her forehead as her head was faced down, looking at the floor.
Deliberately speeding up his pace, Bellator positioned himself next to Felicta as they walked in silence.
Though it seemed a storm was brewing within Felicta's mind, as she didn't notice him.
"This is where it starts, the first event within the novel and... one of the many events that lead to Felicta becoming a villainess," he thought, recalling his knowledge from the novel.
Entering the Auditorium, hundreds of students filled the hall as other first-year classes chatted.
A multitude of weapons adorned the walls, their exquisite craftsmanship showing the experience of its creator as the weapons fit the students' needs. They were basic weapons, nothing close to the powerful artifacts which the dwarves would create, but their sleek and clean designs stood out.
Today was an Inter-class; Inter-class was where multiple classes participated in a class together, whether it was a basic history class or even Combat class.
Interclass did not happen often as the relationship between the classes was strained.
This was due to the fact that the classes were in literal competition; there were 4 first-year classes.
And in each exam, they would be pitted against each other. The class which got the most points got more prizes.
It might seem that with all the protagonists in one class, it would be a breeze, but that was not true. Meticulously crafted schemes and a tapestry of deceit from the other classes would make the exams difficult.
Gazing around the hall, three other teachers sat and talked. Though when Vespera approached them, a visible look of disdain appeared on their faces.
"Hey, what's up guys?" Vespera said, waving.
"What are you? A kid? Stop shouting," a man with brown hair and large glasses responded, letting out a tired sigh.
"What, you still sour about yesterday?" Vespera responded, laughing.
"I remember this scene," Bellator thought, chuckling.
In the novel, after an argument with the rest of the first-year academy teachers, Vespera, although outnumbered, beat the shit out of all of them.
Leading to them detesting her and her class.
As Bellator watched the exchange between the teachers, the students looked at him.
By now, the rest of the classes had started recognizing him as they started talking about him.
"If it wasn't bad enough dealing with my own class's incessant buzzing, now I have to deal with three more classes," he thought, grimacing.
"FINE, I'LL SHOW YOU MY CLASS IS BETTER," Vespera declared angrily.
"So it's finally started," Bellator thought, hearing Vespera's argument with the other teachers.
Heading towards where their class was gathered, Vespera with anger clearly laced in her voice spoke.
"Everyone grab your weapons."
Students began scattering as they each headed to grab their respective weapons.
Bellator scoured the large Auditorium quickly finding where the swords were located.
Grabbing the Jian, Bellator contemplated whether to take it or not. Previously, when he went to get a sword, it was the only one he could afford so he didn't get options.
"I've already grown accustomed to using the Jian. Should I keep it or find a new sword?" he thought, assessing his situation.
"Well, it's not like I was good at using the Jian anyway. Might as well find a sword that suits me better."He contemplated
Skimming through the available swords, Bellator picked multiple up as he tested their weight and tried swinging them around, before his gaze finally landed on a Katana.
Testing out the Katana, Bellator was pleased with it as he decided to use it.
'Inspect'
[Basic Katana]
[Description: A basic katana distributed to students within Limitless Academy, The Katana with its slight curvature is a perfect weapon for those who want to slice through opponents with minimal resistance]
[Rank: F]
[Abilities: None]
[Hidden Functions: None]
Utilizing his trait, Bellator quickly looked at its abilities, he was not surprised it had no abilities, after all it was a free weapon.
"I can't believe I once regretted getting this trait. Getting it was one of the best choices I made since coming to this world," Bellator mused as he appreciated his trait.
"The protagonists should have chosen their original weapons," Bellator contemplated, checking for any deviation from the plot.
Looking for the main characters, the first one who came in sight was Felix, already testing out his newly found Gladius. He swung it around in a beautiful display of swordsmanship. The sword, seemingly an extension of his body, moved with such precision that it made you question how a first year wielded such strength
Behind him stood Seraphina. In her hands was a recurve bow, its beautiful and delicate design seemed to match Seraphinas' beauty as she pulled on it, checking the bowstring. But that wasn't her only weapon as strapped to her hips were a pair of daggers.
Julius, being the protagonist's rival, obviously tried to outdo Felix as he too thrust around his Spear in a brilliant display. Every thrust caused ripples in the air as a smile adorned his face.
Lumenia, not caring to show off, just nonchalantly held her Scythe in her hand. Though even without doing anything, her bold choice of weapon had already attracted many eyes. It was rare to find a Scythe user, especially since Scythe arts weren't very common.
Felicta just held her Whip in her hand as her gaze stayed fixated on the floor, not daring to make eye contact with anyone.
And then there was Valoris.
"It's playing out exactly as it did in the novel," Bellator reflected, noticing Valoris do the exact same thing the novel mentioned.
All eyes were on him as students stared at him confused. While most students took one or two weapons, Valoris went and took every type of weapon in the Auditorium, from swords, daggers, bows, guns, whip, scythe, gloves. He literally took every type of weapon there was.
Even the main characters stared confused at his actions, but Bellator, knowing his Bloodline Ability and Trait, knew exactly why he took every weapon.
After all the students got their weapons, they all went back to Vespera.
"We have Combat class, with the other classes so hurry up and go to the gym," she commanded.
"If only it was a mere 'Combat' class," Bellator thought, looking at Vespera.
