Chapter 27 - A 'Mere' Combat class

Limitless Academy known for being the leading academy within all the human domain

It was no understatement to say that any student who joined the academy would become a leading figure in the world as it was specially designed to train the most prodigious humans and help them reach new heights

Every student within Limitless Academy could be said to be a prodigy in their own right

And Vespera had just bet that not only would her class not lose but they would dominate all the other 3 classes combined

This had led to a bet and Vespera being rash decided to accept, though no matter how strong the main characters were battle was not only about their individual strength and with 3 classes against one we were clearly out matched

Arriving in the gym a myriad of equipment lined the place, loud noises echoed through the gym as students trained, the smell of sweat permeated the air proof of the students most likely seconds years due to their uniform trained, determination etched on their faces

Walking past the gym and into a separate room, a massive arena stood proudly as a huge magical dome covered it, thousands of spectator seats encircled the dome as huge holographic screens floated in the air broadcasting what was happening in the dome

"Don't we have combat class later, why are we fighting against the other classes all of a sudden" A student whispered clearly confused

The students had already received an email with their timetable, and after the Weapon Selection that all had a Mana Theory class, so suddenly being dragged to the gym surprised them all

But no one dared to question Vespera, instead just complying, even the main characters didn't question her, just going along with whatever she had planned

"What do you think is happening" Felix whispered to Lumenia, hoping she would know

"Mom probably started a fight again" Lumenia stated sighing

"Sometimes I wonder who is the child between us" Lumenia complained, used to her mother's antics

"It doesn't really matter, although the other classes have a few powerful students, they're unlikely to beat us" Seraphina noted

"The only class which might actually give us problems is A class" Seraphina continued making observations

As Bellators' class reached the arena, Vespera who had not said a word since the weapon selection finally spoke up

"Most of you must be wondering why we're in the Combat arena, when you guys actually have a mana theory class, well ..." As Vespera started a long speech Bellator uninterested drifted away in thought

'Why is she lying, she must just say the other teachers damaged her pride and in an act of recklessness, she made a bet that we had no chance of winning' Bellator thought listening to her spouting bullshit

In short what Vespera said, was that once a week for the next three weeks, they would be battling another class for points.

Each student had one chance to swap out their opponent to a different classmate, but this could only be done once throughout all 4 weeks, these rules were an advantage given to us since we would be fighting 3 different classes, it seemed like a fair and innocent battle meant to strengthen the students but Bellator knew the truth

beneath the surface of this seemingly innocent battle, a thread of lies and deceit will soon lead to a bigger conspiracy being unveiled

Soon after Bellators' class arrived, multiple other classes entered, leading the class was each of their homeroom teachers,It seemed the class we would be going against was B class as Klaus the homeroom teacher of B class went to speak with Vespera his expression serious, his light brown hair which had grown too long mixed with his feminine appearance made one question his true gender

Bellators' class noticing their opponents grew confident, their cocky gazes glancing at the B class

It must be noted that with the top 5 students in their class no one had even pondered the possibility of losing

The opponents for each match would be chosen through a random lottery decided by the schools AI

Standing on a podium Klaus the homeroom teacher of B class explained the rules

"Each student will receive a protective necklace which will calculate the amount of damage taken, A battle is won by the one who sustains the least amount of damage, also if you are knocked out it is instant failure regardless of who caused more damage, and any attempts to take another students life will lead to severe consequences,if a student wins their match they have the option to continue fighting until they ultimately lose"Klaus explained

Hearing this the students of D class became extremely happy, they had faith that whether the others lost Felix and the other main characters had the strength needed to carry their whole class

"If you win, don't continue" Seraphina explained noticing her classmates expressions

"Why?" Felix exclaimed surprised

"Don't you see our classmates, they are planning on depending on our strength to win" Seraphina explained hoping Felix finally understood

"And what's wrong with that?" Felix exclaimed still not seeing the point

"Are you dumb, if the rest of our classmates rely too much on us they won't be motivated to get stronger, they will keep relying on us, and that will only make the exams harder for us" Julius exclaimed annoyed by how dumb his rival was

"OOOHHHH, now I get it" Felix replied finally understanding what they meant
