Jen was making a lot of noise in the bathroom while Sebastian was left in her room, staring at the wall.
She told Sebastian to wait for her and had been in the bathroom for the past hour.
Sebastian could hear her talking on the phone, showering, drying her hair, shouting on the phone, drying something again...
"I hope she doesn't walk out of the bathroom looking insane again."
For the past few days, also the first several times Sebastian had met her, Jen had looked like a normal boring student, a princess, a prostitute, and a girl who was still stuck in her childhood.
"I wonder what she is planning." Sebastian knew that Jen was trying to prepare him for the press conference tomorrow, but he couldn't help worrying about Lynn, and whether she would ever forgive him.
She probably knew that Jen was lying that day, but she didn't bother to say anything- but how could she not know? Sebastian looked so guilty and he was wearing the same outfit as the day before.
Maybe she had seen enough rich second-generation corporate boys messing with other people's lives and safety, so she didn't bother to point out the lies.
Sebastian wanted to make sure that Lynn would never look at him that day again, not with the hurtfulness in her eyes.
"Alright, your clothes are dry now, go inside, change. I don't have men's clothing here, so you are going to have to manage and walk around in that suit until we can buy you something else to wear, ok?"
Jen ran out of the bathroom and threw Sebastian's clothes onto him, "I cannot iron. So it looks bad now. But we are going to the mall and meeting your new friends, they won't care."
Sebastian and Jen had been sitting in the taxi for 15 minutes when he finally asked her, "Where are we going?"
"Well, we cannot go to any malls that are owned by, you know who, for very obvious reasons. So we are going near my school! The shopping street there is good enough. You would need to buy coffee for your new friends, but I doubt that you would mind."
Jen was wearing another maxi dress today, tale green, with a simple jeans jacket.
"She has such a horrible sense of fashion." Sebastian thought.
But wearing the old-looking suit that he was, he should probably not be the one to complain.
"Later, you will meet Timmy, Luna, and Jackson," Jen said, scrolling through her phone, and showing Sebastian the photos, " They are my friends from school, and probably the most trustworthy people you would ever meet today."
"Today? Just today? Why can't you just say ever and make me feel better."
"I am not a liar, Sebastian. They are good today, who knows if they are good tomorrow?" Jen put down her phone and stared at Sebastian with her eyes wide open, "Maybe I will wake up to be the biggest villain you ever knew."
After a couple of minutes, they arrived at the shopping street next to Jen's school- The GT University of Business and Economy.
"Such a serious name. I doubt there would be anything fun to do." Sebastian complained.
"Shut up and follow me." Jen started walking the moment they got out of the taxi- of course, this was her area, she knew the best, "You are not here to have fun, this is serious business."
"Try this one, take it. What kind of pants do you like? Ah, doesn't matter, just try these on." Jen threw a couple of hoodies onto Sebastian and a pair of big baggy cargo pants. "You need to look your age." She said.
"I have clothes at home... I do look my age..." Sebastian wanted to argue but he knew that he shouldn't. For the past few days he had been following Jen's advice to the letter, and he was indeed safe.
"Wow, I need a photo of this." Jen was so excited when Sebastian came out of the fitting room, "See, this is what you need."
The old-looking young businessman now looked like a regular university student. He was wearing a red hoodie with a pair of brown cargo pants, "Can I at least get this in blue, red is really not my color."
"Fine, you are paying then you get to choose the color I guess." Jen took a couple of photos and couldn't help to laugh at how hard Sebastian was trying to look mature before, now he finally looked his age.
"Jenny? Are you here?" Sebastian was still in the fitting room when he could hear someone calling Jen's name.
"I am here, oh, I missed you..." "Love your dress, this is a new one? What a color."
"I don't think this color is that great, to be honest, it makes you look like an old lettuce."
"Nobody asked you, Jackson."
Sebastian had never heard so much life in Jen's voice- not surprisingly, considering they hadn't met each other for that long.
He already changed into the new hoodie a while ago, and it looked pretty good- it was simple but warm, also quite energic, and made him wonder if that could have been him if he had been born into a normal family.
"Sebastian, come out when you are ready." Jen noticed that Sebastian had been gone for a while now.
He finally stepped out of the fitting room, and saw Jen standing next to two student-looking people:
The boy looked like... a biker? With a leather jacket and some flashy rings.
The girl looked a little younger than Jen, tall, but had a baby face.
He couldn't help but wonder why Jen called these people here, and what could they possibly do to help him. But out of politeness he still put on a fake smile:
"Hello, I am Sebastian."
