Chapter 15 - month 4- Graduation

This is the fourth month before the projected apocalypse according to my dreams. All the news ever mentioned is war. The world is split between the Eastern and the Western hemisphere, which we refer to as Eastern or Western States. Right in the middle are a few countries referred to as The Central Countries. I live in The Western States which follows democracy with elected leaders. Some countries in the Western states do have monarchs, however the next king must be elected by the people. At any point, if the people wish too, the ruler may be impeached. Other countries have presidents or Prime ministers, all voted for by their constituents.

At the moment, the news is projecting a worldwide war. There are many reasons for war, one reason claims that a few countries in the Eastern states invaded one of the Central counties affiliated with the Western States. The west retaliated, causing the Central countries to become ravished by war. The Eastern States recently followed up in the war by attacking one of the countries near the ocean in the Western States. The country that was attacked, Villagrose, is one of the leading countries in the Western States. The country that Attacked Villagrose, is Jaavien, also one of the largest and leading countries on the Eastern Continents. Villagrose makes up 1/4th of the Western Hemisphere. Jaavien, is about the same size as Villagrose. Another reason that is being shared as a reason for the war is that Jaavien Is trying to expand its boundaries and dislike the Central Countries. The Central Countries comprises 4 countries which fall in the middle of the world. Although the countries are huge, they have little population due to storms, such as hurricanes, Typhoons and monsoons. Although these countries are neutral, La Pierre, one of the main countries, has partnered with the Western States. War in La Pierre has been going on for a few months. Since being attacked by Jaavien, Villagrose has retaliated. Both countries have been going back and forth attacking each other. My university is about to close. The last week of November ushered in a new scene, month 4- Graduation. Troops are now located throughout our town and amongst all major entrances into the country. Eliysiam is another country in the Eastern States, for years they have been conquering neighboring countries in its bid to create an empire. Both Eliysiam and Javiien have tention as they have both been trying to take over the Eastern states. Eliysiam attacked Pileus, the country I'm currently in and the largest country in the Western State, as well as Telize, one of the countries we are affiliated with, in the Western States and the second largest country bordering Villagrose. Because of bombing the border near it, they also had casualties. Telize has been gearing up for war, as is Terrin, the third largest country in the Eastern States.

Due to the urgent preparations for war, graduation will now be held in 2 days. The military is now actively recruiting, and for some majors or specialties, not quite forcing conscription, as the person can deny the summons, but giving additional incentives to join. A person is given up to three summons, of which they can deny. After the 3rd summons, they would either be required to join or have to pay a fee. The three summons cannot be within the same month, and they cannot have more than 2 summons in a 6-month period. Many people across the country who are in shape/athletic as well as those in the medical profession and food service are being selected for mandatory service. The only positive thing is that for those who the military is requesting, the choice of military branch is up to the people, unless too many from the pool select the same branch. Everyone is allowed to select the top 3 branches they would prefer to join or become affiliated with. For those of us who haven't graduated yet, we have been told we are second in line if more people are needed. Background checks are still required to join the military, even though forced conscriptions. If someone's background fails, the military will conduct additional screenings and determine if the person's background is waived, or how they will serve/help the military.

The plus to all this however, is because the military and government is in need of people, all universities have waived graduation fees. The only cost is for caps and gowns, which have been reduced to half its original cost due to the government needing people as soon as possible. There's even a mention that government leaders from all over will be attending different graduation ceremonies, along with some of the higher-ranking military personnel to select people. Rumor has it that one of the commanding officers who will be selecting recruits from my university is young and handsome. In the past, I wouldn't even bother to be interested in such topics, but I've heard he has made history by being the youngest colonel at his age while also being attractive. He received his rank promotion at the age of 22 to commander. I've heard that he is about to become a Major and is just waiting for his promotion to be accepted.

2 days later

Today is graduation. November 15th. Much earlier than expected. I was able to see my grades and have managed to keep my GPA at 4.0 thanks to the space system I have awakened. Luckily, I am not the only person with this GPA. Due to the need for personnel, we were told graduation will take half as long as usual. We literally will only be walking the stage to receive our diplomas and that's it. Graduation will be starting with the highest GPAs and not based on our names. I'm the second person who will be receiving my Doctorate degree at 24, since I managed to enroll early and completed dual courses as a high school student and later enrolled in a 6-year doctors' program. The principal has already told me that the military will be seeking me out. My major is alternative medicine, which is still a doctors in medicine, and I minored it pre-law.

Wearing my graduation gown with no one to cheer for me is both exciting and sad. As I walk across the stage and look out at the crowd my heart beats fast with joy. 'This is it' holding my diploma and smiling as I took a picture and looked around at the audience, I happened to glimpse a person in full black uniform. His dress pans have a blue line on the sides and the jacket is adorned in medals. His face is perfectly proportioned, beautiful honey-colored eyes and a sharp face. His face appears to be cold and expressionless, but the second our eyes crossed it felt like the world stopped. For a second it felt like my breath stopped. With Cephirah's reminder I smiled brightly with my heart beating fast, a flushed face as my eyes turned to the camera. Even as I walked off the stage my eyes turned towards him a few more times. My heart continued to race, and I wish I could stare at him more. As I sat down and looked at him, our eyes once again met and the blush that hadn't managed to disappear, once again appeared on my face. I forced myself to turn away towards the stage with my racing heart wondering who he is and if I will ever get to see him again. 'I would love to' and I hear Cephirah laugh.
