"Where am I? Why is this place so dark and murky?" Vincent was confused because he remembered running from his dad. "Are you afraid?" A masculine voice called out to Vincent. "N-no, I am not afraid."
The masculine voice chuckled. A golden light washed over the dark and murky place. It brought light and warmth with it. Vincent could see meadows for miles in every direction. "Where am I?" He asked again for the second time. The masculine voice did not respond to his question. A door appeared in the distance with an exit sign above it.
Vincent walked towards the door, apprehensive of where it led. The closer he got to the door, the more afraid he became. "I should just stay here. It's quiet and safe." He let his hand drop to his side and backed away.
"Vincent, I didn't take you for a scared cat. A member of the Frost family is always cold and calm." A voice Vincent had not heard in years sounded behind him. He turned and saw his brother Theo standing there. He ran and jumped towards him like he used to.
Theo opened his arms and caught him.
Vincent embraced his brother and let out all of the pain he stuffed away come out. He cried for what seemed like hours. Theo held him and rubbed his back, allowing him to let everything out.
"Do you feel better, crybaby?" Vincent wiped his tears and smiled at him. "Don't call me that, Theo." "Am I dead, Theo? Is that why I can meet you?" Theo ruffled his hair. "No, dumb dumb, you and the others have another chance."
"Don't ask me any questions about how. I don't know anything, but I'm happy I got to meet you one last time." "I don't want to go! I am here with you in this beautiful place." Vincent's tears started falling again.
"Don't give me that, Vinny. If you stay here, who will watch over our little siblings? It's not like I can do it myself. Besides, you told me you would protect the family from the inside." Vincent's shoulders started to tremble.
"That's not fair. I have already done that, and look where it got me." Theo placed his hand on his shoulder and looked out in the distance. "The world outside has changed, Vinny. Your body isn't on Earth anymore, and things will be hazardous. You must protect our family."
He turned towards Vincent, now in his uniform with his medals hanging from his chest. "This a direct order from Captain Theo K. Frost. At this moment, I order Private Vincent J. Frost to find his family and survive in the new environment he finds himself in." Vincent was at a loss for words and then became frustrated.
"You can't just order me like that! I'm not one of your Marines for you to direct around like a puppeteer." Theo didn't respond to his plights. He continued to look at Vincent with a severe expression. Vincent lost it and screamed.
"FINE! I will go through that door and find my way back here! Once I get back, I am going to kick your butt."
Theo smiled as Vincent stormed towards the door. "I look forward to that day, Vinny."
Vincent opened the door and stepped through the door without a second thought.
Planet Strara, Staple Hospital
"Cool, they sent Barney to see me in the hospital," Vincent said out loud. There was a guy with purple skin with green spots on him taking his vitals. Vincent made him panic and call for the Doctor since he closed his eyes due to the lights being too bright.
[ The person who has sponsored you has chosen you to be a villain. The villain system is now soulbounded and can't be removed.]
Vincent's eyes snapped open. "You gotta be kidding me!"
The Doctor entered the room and saw Vincent sitting up and staring at the air before him. The Doctor cleared his throat and opened his chart.
"Good morning, Mr. Frost. I am Doctor Nevil, and I have cared for you for the past two years." Vincent looked at Doctor Nevil and then at himself. He looked towards the window and saw his reflection. His hair was wild and unkempt. He sported a beard and bushy eyebrows.
"You mean to tell me I have been in a coma for the last two years? That would mean I am 16 years old now." Doctor Nevil nodded his head in confirmation. "I know it comes as a shock, and I can recommend you to a therapist if you feel like you need it. Nurse Charles will now administer a serum that will improve your brain functions."
Nurse Charles walked over with a warm smile. "You will experience a brief moment of lightheadiness and may feel some nausea, but that is completely normal." Vincent numbly nodded, thinking about where his siblings could be.
Nurse Charles put a bandaid where he gave Vincent the shot and left the room. "Mr. Frost, someone from the government office will be by later to speak to you and tell you your options. I welcome you to your new home and hope you adapt quickly." Nevil left the room, leaving Vincent to his thoughts.
