[Vengeful State Activated.]
Vincent was still conscious of what his body was doing, but it was like he was a passenger who was only there for the ride. A baleful aura rushed out of Vincent. Vincent activated fear control and bloodlust.
Pyea felt the skills trying to affect her, but she brushed them off. 'Mhmm, this state he is in seems similar to a beast's primal rage. He probably can't even control himself. That would explain why he tried to stay in control.'
Vincent threw away the shaft of his broken halberd. He stretched his hand out, and the halberd named Executioneer's Partner appeared. Pyea's countenance changed when she saw the halberd. 'How the hell does he have a tier-nine weapon!'
The halberd hummed in approval and glowed. Pyea put away her hammer and summoned her halberd. The halberd was purple with silver highlights. Vincent's halberd sensed the other halberd's presence and cried excitedly.
Vincent let out a war cry and jumped in the air. Pyea did not retreat from his attack but swung her halberd to meet his swing.
*Ding!*
Vincent was not blown away this time. He twisted his body using Pyea as support and aimed his kick towards her head. Pyea, with immense flexibility, returned with a kick of her own. Vincent was launched backward this time. The difference between their physical strength was the difference between a sword and a nuclear bomb.
Vincent stabbed his halberd into the ground, leaving a deep slash mark on the floor. The baleful aura he was releasing coated itself on the axe portion of the halberd. Vincent swung in a vast arc without missing a beat and launched the aura towards Pyea.
Pyea gripped her halberd tight and slammed it down. The wind pressure from her swing canceled out Vincent's slash attack. Pyea smirked at Vincent's heaving body. "Boy, it looks like you can't hold for much longer with that weapon. I will now put an end to this."
Pyea, interacting with Vincent for the first time, lost her smile. The air around her and her weapon shifted, and purple mist started to conjure around her. Vincent Halberd released a white smoke with blue flakes, reacting to her actions.
The battlefield was now divided—one filled with unknown secrets, the other dead silence. In the blink of an eye, both warriors disappeared. They met each other in the middle of the room. One intended on killing and the other having fun. Vincent slashed and cut off Pyea's head, or so he thought.
The Pyea before him faded away, and he blacked out before he knew what had happened. Pyea stood over him and made sure he was ok. The other shadowy figures stepped into the light. The smallest one spoke up. "What are everyone's thoughts on the boy and his performance? I believe he has potential and deserves to be here." Pyea nodded along with him.
"His body is so pathetic. He couldn't even take a kick from Pyea, who has the weakest physical strength." "Not everyone is a brute like you, Horton," Pyea said as she cleaned her halberd.
"Enough, a thumbs up for he will stay and a thumbs down for us to kick him out." They all glanced at the door and saw a man with long, flowing brown hair. They looked at each other and voted. It was three yes and three no. The man at the door voted yes. "It is determined then the boy will stay and take us seven as his masters."
"Vera, heal him and wake him up, please. In three months, the awakening trials will take place. The stronger he is, the higher the talent he can unlock. Tyre, you are in charge of his physical training. Horton will be his designated sparring partner. This year's trials will be held in the Genormea solar system." They all nodded their heads in agreement.
"Jekel, you will watch and oversee his studies. I do not want him to be guided in the wrong direction. He will start training the staff first." A groan was heard. "Why me? He has more talent for the hammer than the staff."
"Do not whine to me, Simon. The fact he has talent in the hammer does not matter. There was a stick before someone tied a rock to it. He will start from the basics." Simon grumbled but did not argue with the man.
"Everyone of you knows why the halberd is so hard to master. It is not just one singular weapon but a combination of them. It is a staff, spear, hammer, and axe. The other three are the person's body, mind, and spirit. Only when all seven are mastered does someone truly know how to wield a halberd."
The man flicked his wrist, and a symbol appeared on Vincent's halberd. "I have sealed his weapon for now. The seal will be broken when he is strong enough to wield it." The man left them all behind. Horton looked at them and grunted. "Call me when the kid is ready for his first sparring match."
Vera, Tyre, Jekel, and Simon stayed behind. Vincent stirred from his unconscious state and looked around. Learning from his past mistakes, he didn't comment on the woman's beauty and sat across from them.
"Nice to meet you, Vincent. My name is Tyre, and I will oversee your physical training. The lovely woman is Vera, and she will be here to heal you. The brooding man is your first weapon, teacher Simon. He will teach how to wield a staff. Jekel is in charge of your theoretical lessons."
"Nice to meet you, Teachers." Vincent nodded his head towards them." Jekel smiled. "It is nice to meet you as well. You may leave for today, and your classes will start tomorrow."
Simon was nudged by Tyre and groaned. "Kid, take this tier two staff for now. This will be your primary weapon for the foreseeable future." Vincent caught the staff. "Does it have a name?"
Simon spat his drink out. "Hell no! Listen, weapons with names are no longer regular weapons, but they are equivalent to what your people call a nuke in the right person's hand. They have already gained a semi-consciousness state and can choose who wields them."
Vincent was surprised but not overly surprised. He did not think of where he got the staff but hummed in understanding. He bowed and left the room. He had already messaged Greta to pick him up.
