Vincent got into the car and laid his head back. He was trying to process the fight he was in and how he moved the way he did.
Vincent was in disbelief as he rewinded the fight. The way he flipped, the way he reacted, and the vicious attacks he used. They were all things Vincent had never done before. He was pulled away from his thoughts by Greta.
"Master Vincent, we are home. Dinner will start at eight o'clock, and please do not be late." Vincent nodded and went to his room. The countless messages that needed to be dealt with blinded him as he walked. He took off his uniform and got into the shower. He gasped as he looked at his arm. His halberd was there on his forearm.
He rubbed his eyes and scrubbed his arm, but it did not come off. He wanted to sigh but stopped himself. 'I have to stop doing that.'
He turned off the water and got dressed. He sat on the edge of the bed and finally opened the messages. He skipped the wrath points and looked for the latest one.
[Host has gained a total of 20,000 wrath points. The Host has a total amount of 20,500 wrath points.]
*Whistle*
'I should attend anger management classes.' He chuckled and continued to scroll. Notifications told him he had completed missions and that the rewards were deposited in his inventory. 'I can guess what missions I completed.' He ignored those and went to the most critical messages.
[Congratulations! The Host has gained six new skills. They can viewed in the Host skills screen.]
Vincent moved over to his skills tab and went through the skills. The new abilities made Vincent shiver at what he could accomplish if he maxed them out.
[Baleful Aura- allows the Host to merge the skills of fear control and bloodlust. When used against someone weaker than the Host, this skill will cause Host opponents to be frozen and paralyzed. They may even die.]
[Total Control- grants the Host the ability to control his entire body.]
[Veteran Vision- grants the Host the ability to judge and analyze his opponent's movements.]
[Wild Slash- An attack that slashes side to side unpredictably.]
[Instinct- gives the Host a sixth sense and alerts if danger or fortune exists.]
[Warrior Heart- Host can imbue his emotions into his attacks.]
Vincent thought about how powerful he was going to be. 'Total Control and Veteran Vision alone would make a force to reckon with. If you add the other skills together, then..' He shook himself out of his delusions.
He still hadn't awakened yet and had no real experience fighting. "I should spend my time training and exploring the new skills." With a plan in mind, he went to his training room until it was time for dinner.
Sweat was dripping down his face, and his hands were shaking. The staff that was given to him by Simon was on the floor. The staff was pulsing with symbols and runes. 'Why am I so exhausted?' Vincent looked at the clock and saw it was almost time for dinner. 'At least my stats increased and confirmed my idea.'
Vincent showered and dressed in the clothes left on his bed. 'Greta must have brought them in.' He left the room and found one of the other maids. "Excuse me, but could you bring me to the dining room?" The maid started walking away from him. 'I guess I'm supposed to follow?'
The walk was not very long, and they reached the door. The maid bowed and left to return to her duties. Vincent didn't stand outside and went inside the dining hall. The lavish furniture, the tall ceilings, and the royal colors caught his attention. Vincent was the first one to show up for dinner and took his seat.
'I might as well look at my stats.'

'It looks like training with the staff increased my agility and dexterity. Does that mean if I were to swing around a heavy hammer, my strength would go up? Do they increase with repetition or load?' Vincent was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't realize his new family had shown up.
"Your stats increase by your actions. If you were to read books all day, your intelligence would increase. If you put said knowledge to use, then your wisdom increases." Vincent absentmindedly nodded his head. He quickly realized, however, that he was supposed to be alone.
The table was now packed with all eyes on him. he fixed his clothes and took a deep breath. He focused on songs from his childhood, hoping to keep them from intruding into his head. A woman with a glass of wine rolled her eyes. "Blake, you should have kept your mouth shut. Now I have to listen to children's music all dinner."
"Hush, Lyla, he deserves to keep his thoughts to himself." The other people at the table joined in and started to laugh. The six people ignored Vincent as if he were air. The head of the table was empty, and so were the two chairs next to it.
"Excuse me, but why are we here when Lord Grimm isn't?" Vincent's question was answered from behind him. "I have been here this entire time."The man of the hour, his wife, and a young man all sat down. The other people at the table straightened in their seats.
"It is nice to meet you officially, Vincent. I am your adoptive father, Richard Grimm. You may address me in a manner that is the most comfortable to you. The people you see tonight are now your family and will treat you as such."
Vincent looked around at the table. They all smiled at him. Richard spoke again. "Now we can all get to know each other as we eat." He snapped his fingers and dinner was brought out by the servants.
