**Emily's POV**
This is bad, this is really bad. I can't go to the pack house. An alpha can identify another alpha, the Alpha will definitely know I'm an alpha wolf.
'Or not.' Mia said in the back if my head 'What do you mean, or not?' I asked her. 'Well, I can lock myself in your subconscious when he's around and not come to the surface, and he'll actually think you have no wolf at all.' She explained like it's something I should know.
'Wait, you can do that?' I asked bewildered. 'But if he thinks I have no wolf what will happen when he sees me shift?' I asked her. 'Oh wow, you intend to shift in front of him. That's a very good idea, given our alpha huge size won't sell us off.' She said, note the sarcasm. 'So great I'm going there as an omega serving her princess. I swear when I get my hands on the elder responsible for this, I'm going to rip him limb by limb.' I spoke.
The carriage stopped in front of what looked more like a castle than a pack house without warning, causing me to almost fall flat on my face. I heard the guard that was driving it chuckle, "Apologies, but I only care for ladies not peasants."
I got off the carriage and walked up to him, I heard Josette say something between, 'come back' and 'you'll get yourself in trouble and shit' but honestly, I didn't give a shit. When I reached a reasonable distance I looked him straight in the eye, "Listen you piece of shit, just because you get a higher wage than us, doesn't make you any different from us. We both work for the Alpha family. So, before you call others a peasant, look yourself in the mirror." I told him and he looked shocked.
I guess he's never had a girl talk to him like that. He looked around and saw his friends looking, probably calling him weak for letting a girl talk to him in such a manner so like every useless man he tried to hit me, "You, useless bitch…" he was cut off when I blocked his slap by holding his hand. He tried to pull out, but I tightened my grip. "That was a damn move, now all your friends will see how weak you are." He looked at me shocked, I just smiled at him and went to where Josette was standing.
"You so need to teach me how to do that." She whispered. "Do what?" I asked her. "Talk back to a man. No woman is allowed to do that." She said with pure awe in her voice.
We stood there for what felt like hours before Alfred come back with an elegantly dressed girl, she was about our age. "Your highness, these are the girls I found to fit your description." Alfred said with a slight bow.
And my mind was like, 'what the fuck?' back in the twenty first century the Alpha family isn't treated like this. Yeah, they do respect us in some way but only the Alpha and Luna get to have a title, the rest are just Emily, Emerald and Ember. Before you ask, Emerald and Ember are my sisters.
The girl gave us one glance then turned back to Alfred, "Fine, I'll take it from here. Have the other servants prepare the room next to mine." She said. Alfred's eyes widened, "But your highness___" He started but was cut off by the girl. "That's an order Alfred, you wouldn't want me telling the Alpha that you disobeyed an order, would you?" she asked. "No, your highness." With that he left.
As soon as he left the girl's demeanor changed completely from stern and commanding, to soft and friendly. "Hi, I'm Elizabeth, so which one is Emily, and which one is Josette?" She asked, looking from Josette to me. "I'm Emily, she's Josette."
Elizabeth led us inside the pack house.
It was nothing like the twenty first century pack house, this was a full ass castle. There were no pack members roaming the place like they own it, like they do in the twenty first century. The only people I saw moving around were the servants and guards.
Elizabeth was actually very friendly, she told us to call her Elizabeth if there is no one around, gave us a tour around the place and had one of the guest rooms prepares for us. She said anything to do with her should have the best, so we got ourselves a guest room. At least I don't get to sleep with the servants, my wolf can only tolerate a certain amount of shit.
The room was beautiful, had a big bathroom, a walk-in closet both 'his and Hers' that was already packed with our uniforms, a couch just across the room, a queen-sized bed, a fluffy carpet was spread in front of the bed and the room had a balcony. Everything was a mix of royal blue and white. 'How I wish Mia could see this but unfortunately, she's locked herself up in my subconscious. I miss her already and it hasn't even been a full day yet.
"After you've rested, come help me change in my room. I have a meeting with the Alpha and the elders at noon." Elizabeth said then left.
As soon as she left, Josette threw herself on the very comfortable looking queen-sized bed. "Does she really expect me to wake up after sleeping in this bed." Yes, Josette she does." I said as I joined her on the bed. I was comfortable, it reminded me of my bed back home.
Before we knew it, it was already noon and Josette, and I were in Elizabeth's room helping her prepare for the meeting.
Even though she tried so hard to hide it, I could see that she wasn't in the least bit happy about this meeting. "Elizabeth, why don't you look happy with this meeting?" I asked as I did her hair in a twenty first century ponytail leaving some loose strands to frame her face. I don't know what I'm changing in the future but right now I don't give a shit.
"The meeting is about me getting married to some Alpha who isn't my mate." She said, her eyes starting to tear up. "But why would your own brother do such a thing?" I asked her. Surely any brother would love to see his sister happy. "Nicholas listens to what the elders tell him, they told him marrying me off to Alpha Jack is good for the pack, so he went with it, women aren't allowed to speak up, so I just had to flow with it." She said this time her tears were flowing unrestrained.
"What about your fated mate? Is he dead, wait how old are you?" I asked in one breath. She gave a light sad smile at my curiosity. "I haven't found my mate yet, no he's not dead and I'm nineteen years' old." She answered all my questions. "It's unusual for a she-wolf to stay this long without finding her mate, so everyone has concluded that I don't have one." She said in a sad tone.
"So, what will happen when Alpha Jack finds his mate? Will he just toss you like you are of no importance?" I asked her. I could already feel my anger surging up. "No, Alpha Jacks mate died in a rogue attack. And honestly Emily I'm scared, the Alpha is a ruthless man. If I was his mate, I wouldn't be scared because I know that the mate bond wouldn't let him lay a finger on me but I'm not, meaning I'm vulnerable to his violence." She said as she dropped more tears.
I hugged her and let her cry. When she had calm down Josette redid her make up. She looked at herself in the mirror with a slight smile, "Who taught you how to style hair." She asked. "No one I just saw your hair and the idea came." I said. I must admit, I love the way lying is coming so fluent it's almost natural. "Will you two come with me, I don't want to be the only female there." She asked me and Josette.
A meeting with the elders, that's my specialty. And I have made it my mission to make sure Elizabeth doesn't marry that sick excuse of an Alpha.
