**Emily's POV**
When we entered the Alpha's office, I was hit with a sweet but intoxicating scent. It was so overwhelming that I almost lost balance.
How can something smell so sweet but at the same time so intoxicating. I felt Mia's presence meaning the scent affected her too. I felt someone's hand on me, "Emily are you okay." I heard Elizabeth's voice ask somewhere in my head, but my mind was on the scent. "Mate." the word came out of my lips as a mutter.
I followed the scent and my eyes landed on the most gorgeous man I have ever seen, seated in all his Alpha glory, brown hair, grey eyes tan skin, handsome features.
Then realization hit me like a brick. My Mate can't be here, no way. Fate and the goddesses must be playing some trick on me. My hand flew to my neck to make sure the necklace Josh gave me was intact, when it was, I relaxed a bit.
"Emily." I heard Josette whisper as she slightly shook me. "The Alpha is staring at you." She whispered in a voice so low so that the others shouldn't hear with their enhanced hearing.
But why is he staring at me?
My hand subconsciously went to touch the necklace. I quickly snapped out of whatever the fuck I was in.
As a servant I was supposed to stand behind my mistress, but well, I am an alpha wolf with alpha pride, so I took the seat next to her. I could see the shocked disapproving looks on everyone, but hell, I've never given a damn what looks I received so I sat proud.

**Nicholas' POV**
I sat in my alpha seat feeling less of an alpha and more of a KID. Throughout my alpha training I was taught to always respect the pack elders because they know best, and as the good boy my father raised, I listened to them. And now my sister was to marry a man that isn't her mate, apparently, they said it was best for the pack.
Alpha Jack is the alpha of the second-best warrior pack. His pack is second to the shadow moon pack. Luckily my younger brother Henry is mated to the shadow moon pack's betta's daughter so an alliance was easily formed.
My pack has many enemies so the elders said it will be good to have two warrior pack as our allies. Alpha Jack isn't the best man I would want for my sister, he hits women, he is ruthless, but right now there is nothing I can do. I have to do what's best for the pack.
After sitting for what felt like forever, my sister finally walked in. Her face void of any emotions, but her eyes held much sadness. She walked in with two girls, I think they are her personal servants. I knew one of them, Josette. I had saved her once from some men that were harassing her but I didn't know the other.
She must be the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, long black hair, midnight blue eyes. This girl is beautiful. I didn't even notice I had been staring until our eyes met, when they did I saw her panic and her hand practically flew to her neck. I saw her touch something that looked like a golden neckless and she immediately relaxed, maybe it's something to help her relax.
My sister took a seat far away from me, and I must admit it kinda hurt. But that's not what got my attention, what did, was her servant.
As a servant, one is supposed to stand behind the person they serve but this one sat next to Elizabeth. She looked at everyone's disapproving looks, smiled and made herself comfortable. I must admit, she shocked all of us.
The elders looked at me like they were waiting for me to say something, and I almost did, but when I saw Elizabeth's pleading eyes asking me to let her sit, I couldn't bring myself to. "I see you find pleasure in making us wait, your highness." Elder Lockwood said. My sister looked down, "Apologies, Elder." she said in a low tone, women weren't allowed to raise their voices when addressing a man.
I noticed Elder Madox looking at the girl beside Elizabeth like he was trying to understand her. "You there, what's your name." he asked her.
Unlike all servants that face the floor when talking to an official, she looked up to face him. "Emily." she said, her voice not in the least bit low. "Just Emily?" he ask. "Oh, you also want my surname, I don't think that will be necessary." She said and leaned back on the chair.
Everyone looked like they were ready to jump on her if she said something else. She looked at them and smiled, it's like she was deliberately pushing their buttons. She looked at all of them then said, "If you guys are done giving me death glares you can start the meeting, we have things to do."
Wait, did she just dare to call all of us guys? The nerve of this girl, but for some reason I'm not mad at her if anything, I'm amused. Not even I dare to disrespect the Elders and yet here she is, telling them that she has things to do.
Amaizing how they all just ignored her, I actually expected them to tell me to give her some horrible punishment. But they did nothing of the sort, we just continued with our meeting. "Okay, so it's settled then. Elizabeth's will Marry Alpha Jack on the next full moon." Elder Markwell said in a dismissing voice, signaling that the matter is closed.
"Wait, that's it?" Emily asked in disbelief. Everyone looked at her shocked, "Do you have a problem with anything Emily." Elder Lockwood asked exasperated. She smiled again and crossed her legs, "As a matter of fact Elder, I do." she said. Elder Madox looked at her with amusement, "Would you enlighten us?" he asked.
"Oh well, where do I begin? Ah yes, this meeting was about the princess marrying an alpha who isn't her mate and I heard none of you ask if she was okay with that." she said. I must say, this girl has earned my respect, no woman says anything in a meeting and yet here she is actually disrespecting the Elders.
And most of all she is doing what I couldn't, standing up for my sister. "What she wants doesn't matter." Elder Lockwood said. I could feel anger emitting from Emily, but her face had a controlled smile, she hid her anger well.
"Elder, do you have mate?" she asked Elder Lockwood. Elder Lockwood smiled just at the thought of his mate, "Yes I do." he replied. She smiled again. 'What do you think she's playing at?' My wolf, Mars asked. I noticed that ever since Emily walked in, my wolf has been paying much attention to everything she does. He literally never notices any female but yet again she isn't just any female, I can tell there is something different about her.
I can't feel her wolf but by her boldness I can tell she has one. No omega would dare risk their life like she is doing right now. "Does what your mate want matter to you." Emily asked Elder Lockwood and he looked caught off guard, he wasn't expecting that, and he knew his answer will affect the matter.
Everyone looked at him, waiting for his answer, "How dare you question an Elder." he said trying to sound intimidating, but Emily only smiled. "He can't even answer my question. Okay so here's what we are going to do, if you have a mate raise your hand." she said. 'Did she just tell Elders what to do?' Mars asked in amusement. Non of them raised their hands. "Oh, right. Non of you are proud of their mates, it's such a shame. Anyway, I'll just ask the alpha what he thinks about this. Alpha since you're the only one I'm sure of that doesn't have a mate, you're the only one that will have a say in this matter." she said as she shifted all her attention to me.
I looked at all the Elders, they all looked at me like they were expecting me to throw this girl out. Normally I would but right now I can't, she's doing this for my sister. "Do you think it's fair for your sister to marry Alpha Jack." she asked me.
**Emily's POV**
Elizabeth kept giving me signals to shut up but well, I'm not the type to keep my mouth shut especially when it comes to Elders. Someone has to remind these Elders that they are not more important than the Alpha.
I looked at my mate waiting for his answer. I could tell he didn't want any of this but like almost every alpha, the Elders have a leash on him. When i saw him hesitate, "Alpha do not let these Elders make your decisions, an Elder's word is an opinion but an Alphas word is the law. Always keep that in mind." I told him. All the Elders looked furious with what I just said. "You dare tell the Alpha to not listen to us." the Elder Josett told me was Elder Lockwood said. If I'm being honest, this elder is irritating my ass. "You know what Elder, if you don't like what I'm doing you can give me your punishment and I will gladly accept it as long as Elizabeth doesn't marry Alpha Jack." I said. "Emily!" Elizabeth whisper yelled. I just gave her a sight smile.
Elder Lockwood smiled, "Very well, I give the princess a year to find her mate. As for you, you will be given fifty strokes with a silver laced weep." He said. "That will kill her." Nicholas and Elder Madox said at the same time. Josett and Elizabeth looked worried, I personally am not. I don't know why but silver or wolfsbane does do much harm unless combined, so fifty strokes of silver ain't much a big deal. "Done, but make that five years for Elizabeth." I said and he actually looked shocked. "You don't have to do this." My mate said, and I could hear the worry in his voice. Why is he worried? He doesn't even know me. I touched the necklace again just to be sure it's still there. I looked at him then smiled, "You are right I don't have to do this but I want to." I said. "Okay so case closed, where should I come for my punishments." I said as I stood up. "The punishment hal." Elder Lockwood said.
