I stared at the building in front of me. It was Kendra's boutique. I had been standing here like a fool for the last half hour. I couldn't muster the courage to go inside and tell Kendra my intention. I came here to tell her that we decided to take one of her old packs as a hostage to secure the deal.
But how could I even say that?
Saying it in my mind sounded harsh and doing it out loud even harsher. I didn't want Kendra to get the wrong idea of our decision. We did it for the packs after all. There were no hidden motives underneath it. Not even any personal grudges involved.
I sighed. Again. I didn't realize it had been my twentieth exhale for the last five minutes. I couldn't waste my time here. I reached out to the doorknob and pushed it open. The bell was chiming and the same tiny black girl greeted me with her hugest grin.
"Good morning, Luna. Meeting with Miss Kendra?" She asked me.
