Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

She expected her head to hit the ground, she was grateful for the soft expensive rug in that moment, at least it would reduce the impact.

Hands slid around her waist, circled her sides and pulled her flush into a hard chest, a hard unclad chest. Jenna's heart beat quickened, she felt hot all over, hotter than she had felt before.

"I just can't take my eyes off you" Adam said with a chuckle, his hands still holding Jenna firmly to his chest.

His grey eyes held a mischievous glint in them, the type she had seen in the eyes of actors when they were looking at their co-stars on tv as they portrayed the emotion 'love'.

"Let me go" Jenna said, she didn't want to look into his eyes, they captivated her, but her only other option was his broad and well sculpted chest.

"What if I say I don't want to" he asked, his voice teasing.

"Do you do this to every girl you bring into your house?" Jenna asked

His eyes darkened slightly, he smirked, slow and dangerous. Shivers ran down Jenna's spine as she watched his eyes devour her. It was too much tension.

"I usually let all my business end in the hotel room" he said slowly as his eyes still watched.

It felt like a difficult task for Jenna to swallow, she tried but it didn't work. Her body wasn't functioning the way she wanted it to.

"Excuse me sir-" Jenna said

"Adam" he corrected

"Adam" Jenna said after a moment's hesitation, "I'm genuinely not interested in anything you're insinuating in that head of yours"

"We'll see" he said, "hold on tight"

He lifted Jenna up, like she was a piece of paper and tossed her over his shoulder.

Jenna knew she probably didn't weigh enough but being tossed over his shoulder was like a huge punch in her gut, an unspoken revelation of how truly malnourished she was.

"Put me down" Jenna screamed as she swayed on his shoulder. Even from this angle his hallway looked beautiful, the same way even from any angle you could still see the vileness in her house.

"You know, you could stop resisting and just enjoy the ride"

"That sounded wrong on so many levels" it made her chuckle, a sound that she hadn't made in a very long time. A sound she didn't know she was still capable of making.

"Maybe you're just dirty minded" he countered.

His ass looked great as they descended the stairs, Jenna didn't know she could think such thoughts, it made her feel even more weird.

She had only been in his company for such a short time and she had thought and felt so many things that were alien to her. It was sickening.

He dropped her down after they had descended the stairs, her stomach and ribs hurt from staying on his shoulder, probably because there was no fat in her body to stand as a shield against the muscles in his shoulder.

"Dinner is served" Adam said, he gestured to the glass dinning table sitting under a glistering chandelier.

Everything was basked in a silver light; it was like a scene out of a movie. It felt like she had stepped into a painting, from the glistening white tiles to the intricate detailing on the wall.

It was sparkling, a stark contrast to the interior of her kitchen. There was no cigarette burn mark, no scratches, no mold or fungi growing in a corner, no dried-up food stain and most important of all, it wasn't littered with pills of different assortment.

Adam guided Jenna to a seat, pulled it back and guided her into it. He knew Jenna was lost in thought, she always seemed to be deep in her own head.

She was definitely interesting, everything she did had him completely captivated. He didn't show it but he was caught off guard when he came out of the bathroom and found her awake, she looked cute with her hair ruffled and her mind wandering.

He liked how her brown eyes always fixed itself on him, like she was trying to read him. He didn't mind, in fact he liked it, it showed that she at least had a morsel of interest and he was going to work with it.

She was on her guard, it wouldn't have been interesting if she weren't, she was in the house of a stranger after all but he hoped that he could change that, with time.

"I made spaghetti and meat balls" he said as he raised the lid off the chinaware on the dining.

Adam watched her take in the food on the table like it was a buffet spread, he already had an inkling of a feeling that she wasn't eating like a normal person should and her reaction was the confirmation he needed.

"I know its not much but I tried my best" he said, he sat down opposite her, his eyes never leaving his face.

"You made this?" Jenna asked as she surveyed the table, her eyes looked up and locked on his.

Adam felt his breath back up in his chest, her eyes were intense. It was like she was reading him like a book, looking at all the itty-bitty details and he loved it.

"I did" he answered.

He picked up his fork and watched as her expression went blank, she was in her head again. He knew from watching her, it was like she was having a mental conversation within herself. He noticed she always did it before taking a decision, he leaned his elbow on the table and rested his head on his palm as he watched her.

Watching her made him curious, he as well wanted to know all the itty-bitty details about her, he wanted to know more, he disliked that he couldn't read her the way he knew she was reading him.

He watched her longer, even after she finished the conversation in her head she still hesitated, "or are you allergic to meat balls?" Adam asked jokingly.

"No" Jenna answered

"The spaghetti?"

"No"

"Then what's the problem?"

There was silence, a heavy silence. He could hear his heart beating and he wondered if she could hear it as well, she was making him nervous and it unnerved him.

"I haven't eaten meat balls before so I don't know how its eaten" Jenna finally answered.

"Oh"
