Chapter 15 - Secret Between Sisters

"I am teaching you a valuable lesson here, so you better learn and do not try to test my patience. I do not usually waste words on people like you, but here I am. Is this not a privilege?" she asked.

Given their weakness in front of the A-list actress, Molly and Julie had no choice.

With sparkling eyes, Vera hummed, "I should perhaps add the toilet water, seeing as you are not appreciating my kindness."

Normally, she would not pick on her juniors, especially these, but these girls are like apprentices to a rival. She watched them roll on the water with a satisfied expression on her face.

"All right, girls, from now on, be good and never gossip. If someone asks why you look like garbage, just tell them a convincing lie. I am training you to be a good actress for free, you know," Vera advised.

The girls continued to cry and did not respond.

 "Answer me," Vera bellowed.

"Yes, Ms Vera," they said in unison.

After giving them a fierce look, Vera turned to leave the room. They both started crying and sobbing as soon as she left.

After leaving them there, Vera went to speak with the manager.

The game was far from over, though, as Ina King barged into the office few minutes later, Ina slapped Vera but received an even harder one in return.

The manager called Nelson over to mediate their argument because he was unable to do it himself.

 Returning To The Present

Vera put her hands to her lips, holding back a yawn. "I was just teaching them an important lesson because you couldn't. The company does not pay them to gossip or go to parties." She said, giving Ina a sick-making smile. "People wonder why I rose to prominence so quickly, and you are no exception. Here's the deal: I spent my time contemplating how to be the best, not wasting it on parties and gossip."

"Through plotting and deceitful tactics," Ina said.

"Who does not engage in dirty play, even you, Nelson here is not exempt from that either, right?" She asked, looking up at Nelson.

"Look, ladies, do not drag me into your fight..." Nelson began, only to be interrupted by Vera's subtle but dangerous words.

"Why not? You have eaten from both of us and taken more than just missionary. How are you not involved? This should be treated more like a family discuss, don't you think?"

Her words shocked not only Nelson but also Ina.

"Hehe, surprised at how I found out," she exclaimed, laughing as loud as the devil. "The world might not judge me because we were dating at that time, but they will surely throw dirt at you for cuckolding."

Like a fish out of water, Ina could say nothing more and would only open and close her mouth.

Before leaving the office, she gave them both a flying kiss and said, "Since the matter is over, I should get going then, please arrange what I asked for." The other two were too stunned to speak and only watched her leave.

Sonya parked her car outside her sister's office, waiting for her to close so they could leave.

Louise is no longer a source of concern for her now that she has organized her thoughts. After treating Sianna, she decided to end the relationship quietly. It was a good thing he forgot about her, because instead of being bothered and stalked like she was before, she could focus on other things.

"I apologize for being late," Brenda said, giving her sister a hug.

Looking behind her sister, Sonya said, "Not a problem, you must have had something or someone important to attend to." Her words carried a hint of tease.

Brenda questioned in confusion after hearing her sister's statement, "Huh, what are you talking about?"

She rolled her eyes as she turned to see what she was staring at. It seems that after witnessing her conversing with Thomas earlier, she started thinking absurd things.

"Who is he?" Sonya asked when they got in the car and fastened their seat belts.

"My assistant, any problem?" Brenda gave her a look.

Sonya chuckled, "You got yourself a guy and an assistant as one wow." She turned on the engine, left the office area, and entered the highway.

Brenda rolled her eyes; she had not requested an assistant and was simply given one.

"My boss insisted that I keep him, calling it a reward for all of her hard work."

She was not buying that, and deep down she believes the man is a spy sent to keep tabs on her whereabouts.

She had to keep her office crises a secret from her family or else they would start to worry for her.

"Ignore him, please. Where are we going?" She asked her sister. dismissing the subject.

Sonya casually replied, "A club somewhere in the city."

Brenda laughed, shocked, "You can not be serious." Sonya going to a club is not something she would have imagined. She stared at her with wide eyes.

"Do not be surprised; just blame the old man," Sonya said, attempting to redirect any criticism to her mentor.

Brenda sighed, "I really need a detailed explanation of your adventures in Geopics."

"I have something I want to share with you, but you must promise not to tell our parents about it," Sonya said seriously. Brenda was forced to sit up straight in her seat due to her solemn expression.

"Do not tell me that you have an incurable disease."

 "No.."

"About to Die..."

 "Of course not."

 "Have a baby in Geopics."

"What are you saying now, I am serious here," Sonya exclaimed, irritated. Right now, if she had not been driving, she would have hit her sister.

"So, it is a romantic relationship then." Brenda nodded. "Have you already found love?" She asked as she stared at her sister.

"I will tell you about it, but please keep it a secret,"

Brenda noticed the sadness in Sonya's eyes as she gave her another quick glance. She has been observing her sister's demeanor for a few weeks now, it was as though she is carrying a heavy burden. She assumed it had to do with the inheritance problems the entire time, since they were already a major burden for her.

"What the heck! "Louise Cole is the shameless bum!" Brenda exclaimed. Her expression was one of disbelief and shock. Their voices were completely muffled by the music, which prevented anyone else from hearing them even though it was not very loud. However, Sonya put her hand over Brenda's mouth to silence her yell.

Then Sonya told the story of everything that had happened since she met Louise.

They were seated at a corner in one of the city's most prominent clubs. The club was renowned for its excellent entertainment, networking opportunities, and environment.

There are three levels to it. The first was for regular people who enjoyed throwing stupid parties with loud music and skimpy attire for the ladies. The second which is much more classic, with high-quality wine, comfortable plush furnishings, and well-mannered staff.

The second floor has drinks served to them at their tables, unlike the first floor where customes must wait in line to purchase one. Given that everyone at this level was elite. from the affluent children, entrepreneurs, actors, and people whose identities were unknown.

Only holders of membership cards are permitted entry to the third level, which is reserved for elite VIPs.

Sonya decided to stay on the second floor with her sister. Brenda had the card to go up there, but she could not take the chance of being recognized by someone in a position of authority.

Another reason was that she had a reputation for having a terrible mouth and being a cunning person who liked to trick and infuriate people. It would be dangerous if she offended someone they could not deal with. Their family was going through enough problems with Job and the 'other people,' and they did not want to add to it.

"Tell me how this happened?" Brenda was so excited about the topic that she moved closer to her sister.

"Do you like him?" Sonya inquired, slightly suspicious of Brenda's reaction.

"I would not have let him escape from my control if I had known he was such a bad boy," Brenda remarked regretfully. "But he was such a gentleman and did not even like the opposite sex around him," she said, placing her hands on her chest. "Did Sianna's birth change him, or was it Sianna's mother who did?" she asked.

" I am not sure, but his amnesia raises suspicions in my mind. He was fine before he left; if something was wrong with him, I would have known," Sonya reasoned. A heavy frown formed on her brow.

While they were talking, two men approached them, each holding a glass of wine.

"My name is Hart," said the man in the blue tuxedo.

The other person in the green shirt and black pants waved, "And am Jerry."

Sonya was even more agitated when she saw how the two men were staring at them as if they were candies.
