Chapter 14 - Cruel queen of showbiz

Galaxy Entertainment in Country V.

Nelson Wood, Galaxy Entertainment's executive director, sighed for the fourth time in the last few hours. He had his jaw supported by his left hand propped up on the mahogany table.

His gaze was fixed on the women seated in front of him. One of the women is a redheaded woman with a long face and smoky eyes. She wore a seductive black gown that hugged her body and showed off her voluptuous figure through an opening in the bodice.

She had her fingers in front of her, checking her perfectly manicured red nail as if it were the most important thing to do right then.

The other lady is a brunette with a few shades below the other in terms of beauty and figure. Her degree of self-dressing was also average compared to the redheaded.

Although the redhead dressed sensually and made a big effort to look her best, she did not show off her body as much as the brunette did. Maybe because of her standing or the fact that she was no longer reliant on appearance to get things done.

The brunette who was sitting opposite the redhead woman stared daggers at her, but it was more vexing as the woman blatantly ignored her and did not appear to care about anything but her nails.

After giving the red-headed woman a glare Nelson said, "Vera, don't you think that having the girls crawl on the floor like that was unkind of you? Furthermore, it was foolish of you to start a quarrel or tell such stories. Ina, what happened to the use of civilized and combative language?" He asked, turning to face the brunette.

Vera blinked at him, fluttering her eye lashes innocently before returning her gaze to her nails and asking, "Does this still look good? I had it done this morning, but some witch came and ruined it!"

 Nelson.... "

"That is as horrible as you are, you are such a malicious bitch, the worst I have seen in our circle," Ina glared at Vera, looking like a lioness whose tail had been stepped on.

Vera laughed at her remark, and Nelson placed his other hand on his head. This is going to be exhausting.

As much as he despised settling disputes among his company's stars, he was at a loss about how to handle the two of them. They were the entertainment industry's longest-standing rivals.

Both women are seasoned performers, with Ina being Vera's senior; nevertheless, Vera shot to fame the moment she signed with the company and has not left it since.

The actress launched a cosmetics line last year, and while she has not been in the news or movies much, her status as the greatest has not diminished because people are constantly mentioning her.

Jealousy was at play here. Since Ina started in the industry much earlier than Vera, she had never before experienced such recognition or attention; instead, a newcomer surpassed her in the rankings. The disrespect and attitude Vera has shown her is what has caused her to become so enraged and resentful.

Nelson did not want to irritate either of the women because he was going to lose in one way or another. He would lose a lot of money and connections with Vera, and he would not be forgiven by the public; with Ina, he would lose protection and connections with some secret sponsors.

He said, "I think it is important for you women to act responsibly and find a peaceful solution to this; if not, you are not setting a good example for the newcomers."

"What are you saying, Nelson? This bitch made Molly and Julie crawl on the wet floor!" Ina exclaimed, throwing daggers at the man.

 Several hours ago.

Molly and Julie were in the ladies' powder room touching up their makeup.

They were getting ready to attend a party that was being thrown by one of the sponsors of the movie in which they were featured.

But the most exciting part was the news that Ina King, their role model, was going to be in attendance.

Julie rubbed her lips together to even out the red lipstick she was wearing. She went on, "I am so excited to see Ms. Ina; it has been so long. I really miss her."

 "Yes, I agree," Molly answered.

"Do you think Vera will be there?" Julie asked, turning to look at her friend.

Molly rolled her eyes and said, "Who cares? She shouldn't come; she will just ruin our fun and make Ms. Ina feel bad and inferior."

Julie nodded in agreement and said, "That makes sense, but I do not believe Ms. Ina should feel any less important or confident than Vera—after all, everyone knows how she got this far."

Molly jeered, "unlike that vera who has been bitching around."

"Considering how flirtatious she is," Julie added, "She undoubtedly has her eyes on Max's star."

"She is just a bitch who changed her market target; however, I have heard rumors that she has a dirty secret..." Molly trailed after noticing the red-headed woman standing behind them in the mirror.

She turned to face the woman who was amusedly staring at them, and her eyes widened with shock and fear. Fearfully, Molly and Julie called out, "Ms. Vera."

Vera gave them a charming smile and said, "Do not mind me, keep going. I am intrigued about your conversation." Her expression gave the girls goosebumps.

"Molly, I want to hear the dirty secret you heard about me. It is not often that I get to hear what people say behind my back," Vera urged, smiling as she folded her arms across her chest, And leaned on the door.

In her heart, she was planning the best punishment for them for daring to talk about her in that way.

While she enjoyed hearing gossip, she preferred to hear it from people in her social circle rather than from scrawny-looking rookies who had no idea how to hold themselves together in front of superiors.

Molly and Julie were terrified because they did not think the person they were insulting would be standing behind them and paying attention the entire time.

 "Ms. Vera, we are..."

"Oh, please drop the honorific; you were calling me by my name a while ago, right? I just want to hear the rumor from you or else... "Vera refrained from saying anything more and observed the girl tremble in fear.

"We.. no I heard from someone that you were previously dating the director of our film, but you broke up because you were cheating on him with an older man," Molly said, her eyes welling up.

Vera had a reputation for being resentful and cruel. She wears a kind smile to conceal her evil intentions.

Vera Gabriel is by far the worst woman in country V to get into trouble with. They cursed their luck for falling into the hands of someone as merciless as she was.

"Ms Vera, we are so sorry; please forgive us; we will not talk about you anymore. Please let us off this time." Julie cried and knelt on the cold floor. Molly followed suit, doing the same.

The bathroom became silently and the girls wondered what was going on inside her head. Their hearts were in their throats as they prayed that vera would forgive their mistake.

"Where are you going dressed up like this?" Vera asked with a raised brow.

"Our movie sponsors and director are hosting a party and we are invited," Molly quickly answered.

Vera nodded, and a moment later, an elderly maid entered carrying a bucket of unclean water.

The woman saw the girls kneeling before the company's star but did not say anything; instead, she moved to begin her work when Vera told her to stop and leave. The woman walked out of the room, leaving her bucket behind.

"Now pour the water all over the floor."Vera tipped her chin and instructed.

Even though Molly was hesitant, she poured the water carefully to prevent water stains on her brand-new party dress.

They assumed the actress would ask them to clean up after they emptied the water onto the floor, but to their dismay, she asked them to roll around on the filthy water while lying on the ground.

"What, Ms Vera?" Julie trembled. Her eyes brimmed with tears, which eventually fell. She cried out, "Please have mercy."

"We will not do it again," Molly pleaded with her.

"You should be aware that I do not forgive such mistakes. I have to teach you a lesson you will never forget: do not get involved in gossip," She scowled at the girls, her smile disappearing from her eyes as she said, "Now do not waste my time, hurry up before I change my mind and decide to end your career."

As they lowered herself on the soiled water, her haughty eyes stared at them. "Good girls, now roll," she said, smiling again.

Julie and Molly were crying, and their gorgeous makeup looked utterly awful. wishing that someone would intervene to save them.
