"Lord Draco!"
Lord Draco's violet eyes never diverted from his path leading to the Royal Chambers.
"Lord Draco you cannot enter the Royal Chambers unannounced!" said a brown haired vampire that raced next to the Lord Draco's long strides.
"Then announce me." he replied
To be honest it was actually a treasonous offense, even if he was one of the Seven Lords who ruled over the empire as regents.
The vampires eyes went wide "Prince Hagar is sleeping!"
"Is he now?" Lord Draco said coldly as he came to double doors guarded by two imperial Vampires, to which they responded to his presence by letting their spears slide to a X blocking Lord Draco from entering the chamber.
"You are unannounced" said the guard to the right.
Lord Draco cocked his head at the two soldiers "If you continue to stand before my path you will not live to regret it"
Both guards remained in their positions as they continued to give him a blank expression, and though it was an expression he respected and would commend on occasion yet he found it to be quite vexing now.
"Then so be it" said Lord Draco as he began to draw his sword.
"Let him in" the voice came through the door and even through the door it couldn't hide the arrogance of the owner making Lord Draco twitch. The guards lifted their spears letting Lord Draco walk past them to open the double doors which revealed a dimly lit room filled with the best of upper class furniture.
It was furnished with black curtains that blocked any attempts the sun made in penetrating the gloom of the room. The wood of the bed and table were also black, yet the coloring of the table still couldn't hide the spills of wines and juices of meat that had spilled onto it's surface.
However it wasn't the room that caught his eye it was the white haired vampire whose black robe had been loosely tide around his waist. Lord Draco hissed as he saw the upper half of the robe open, exposing Prince Hagar's chest.
"Did you enjoy making me wait?" Asked Lord Draco through his teeth as the double doors were closed by the two guards at the entrance.
"Of course not, I was just awoken by your threats and had to-" The Prince looked at his robe "-get ready."
Lord Draco could argue with the innocence written in the vampires face, which he had a feeling was just a pretense to keep face, however he was not here to remind the child who was in charge here.
"You know what time it is?" Asked Lord Draco as he raised an eyebrow.
"Is that how you should talk to the future Emperor, Lord Draco?" Asked the vampire as he took a bite of a grape on the platter.
"You are not Emperor yet." said Lord Draco through his teeth.
"Yet. But I will be." the vampire said with a arrogant smile.
"Prince Hagar hold your tongue. The reading hasn't been given, and even if it is your name it won't be the one read." growled Lord Draco.
The reading was a will written by the previous Emperor that would force the soldiers of the Imperial Army to follow the new emperor's commands, regardless if it was against or for their own morals.
Prince Hagar shrugged the words off as though if it was an inconvenience to hear them and sat in a tall backed chair. His foot was propped on the armrest and the other was planted before him as though daring Lord Draco to tell him to sit correctly.
"Have you heard a word from your Imperial brother, Prince Hagar?" Asked Lord Draco ignoring the goading of the Prince.
"He's my brother now?" smirked Prince Hagar
"How about the caravan heading onto Somar Mountain?" Asked Lord Draco ignoring the comment as he tried to calm himself. This boy was testing his patience.
Prince Hagar haphazardly shrugged as he took another grape from the platter "Not particularly"
"I know you do." stated Lord Draco
Prince Hagar smiled at Lord Draco sinisterly "You do now do you?"
Lord Draco hissed and in an instant his hand was upon Prince Hagar's throat pinning him to the back of his chair "You are testing my patience Prince Hagar"
"Am I now?" Prince Hagar coughed through the iron grip of Lord Draco.
"What a waste of seventeen years. I should have killed you years ago" said Lord Draco through his teeth but Prince Hagar smiled "You couldn't otherwise the throne wouldn't be yours."
Prince Hagar felt Lord Draco's grip tighten making him cough, letting the air still trapped in his lungs begin to escape and Lord Draco smiled as he leaned closer to Prince Hagar's face "I'll ask again, Was it you?"
Prince Hagar could smell the heavy scent of blood within the breath expelled upon his face and he recoiled, he hated that scent. He hated it for how much he craved for it and how he knew he would be strong enough to throw the vampire gripping his throat to the side, but he would never see a drop for just that reason. He began to see white in the dark room and he knew he couldn't outlast the old vampire who was still smiling.
"Yes" Prince Hagar whispered with his last breath in his lungs.
Lord Draco growled "Why?"
Prince Hagar gasped against his will for air but the grip didn't loosen. Seeing he was holding Prince Hagar to hard Lord Draco let him loose as he turned away "Actually I don't care."
Prince Hagar rubbed his neck where it began to slowly bruise but he looked at Lord Draco he could have swore the old Vampire was laughing.
"What?!" rasped Prince Hagar
"I planned so hard for that boy to die by the courts hands but instead…" the violet gaze turned to Prince Hagar's red "You are turning the people against the wolves again."
Prince Hagar grew angry at this point, he had planned this for weeks, convincing his arrogant brother that the pelts of a Lycan would prove him to be the true emperor. Yet for days no rogue or pack attacked the royal ass, so he decided to take things into his own hands.
He sent a small squad of imperial guards to kill them off and to stage it like a pack of wolves attacked. It all worked perfectly but that old geezer knew it was him. How irritating.
Lord Draco 's gaze stayed upon Prince Hagar for a moment longer "I will announce his death to the court. You stay in your room and behave until I get back."
Lord Draco exited the room and Prince Hagar waited till the double doors closed, before he stood silently and stared at the platters of food and wine. These made him sick, the food, the lies and the hate he held in his heart.
He swept his arm across the table knocking the platters onto the floor making the food and wine splatter across the stone floors. He hated it all. He didn't even want to be a Prince, he wanted to be a soldier but Lord Draco refused to let him learn to fight in anyway. Prince Hagar assumed it to be so he could fight back.
The double doors opened and the servants quickly cleaned up the room, before leaving after setting out his clothes. He sighed. He was just like this room, perfect when the gazes of the people look in but when the doors closed it was hell.
He put his black toga over his white wool shirt and skirt when a knock could be heard from the double doors.
"Enter" he sighed now it was just like everyday. He woke up and would receive the teachers who basically taught him nonsense.
A puppet he was born to be and he was sure he was going to die as one.
