Chapter 10 - Basic Or Overpowered?

"Haste!"

"Boost!"

"Elemental Resistance!"

After successfully casting the three new supportive type spells, Arthur opened his eyes and looked towards the ongoing battlefield as he let out a smile of happiness.

[Are you not going to mention you failed three times before finally succeeding and in the end gave up casting Mana Drain?] Yuki said mockingly.

[Mana Drain was not needed.]

Anyway with Mana Sense, he could see that the previously dire situation had calmed down and already turned in their favor.

Which was understandably so, the three buff spells Yuki had taught him were overpowered and not as basic as she had made them out to be previously.

Haste, as the name implies, increases speed by twenty five percent. That alone, in a fight between two similarly even opponents, can turn the tides in the buffed individual's favor.

However, Haste was not as simple as that, after observing the youngest of the triplets' fireballs increasing in speed by twenty five percent. He shockingly hypothesized that Haste might increase all aspects of a person. To prove such a theory, he could ask Yuki, but he doesn't want to rely only on her. Otherwise, next time a fight occurs and someone is relying on his buff spells and debuff spells and he couldn't deliver, then… especially if the enemy not only has an advantage in numbers, but in combat strength as well.

This time he was lucky, despite failing three times in casting and not being able to cast Mana Drain in the end, the enemies' only advantage was their numbers. As for their combat strength… it was pitifully low, not that he knew what average strength in this world looked like, but at least they should be able to defeat kids, right?

As for Boost, it was equally as strong, as the name implies, it "boosts" physical and magical strength by twenty five percent.

Lastly, Elemental Resistance, he wasn't too sure about this spell's effects from its name alone, though, from what he could see on the battlefield, it seems to give some kind of defensive type buff against various elemental based magical attacks.

The earthen wall, which was previously cracking despite the enemies being stopped, now had a rainbow hue.

Not only that, the skins of the triplets, Leo, and even the old butler despite not participating had a rainbow hue to it.

With the activation of the spells, Leo who was at a disadvantage, due to the enemies' superior numbers and most importantly their tactic of switching out exhausted or injured brothers with those who had yet to fight no longer worked because every time Leo slashed his fiery great broadsword he would take a life, having already taken seven lives in a short instance.

The second brother, who had previously killed three out of eight mages with sneak attacks, was finding it much harder, due to the gangsters watching each other's backs and leaving no blind spot for him to take advantage of, despite his youngest brother keeping three mages at bay with his multiple fireballs.

However, after Arthur's buff spells enveloped him, the enemies who thought they understood his attacking methods and speed were caught unaware as his speed and lethality increased instantly separating two heads with his dual daggers.

Seeing the second brother's fighting style Arthur felt sorry for the enemies. The fact that he can be practically "invisible", was too overpowered.

And despite there still being three more… Nevermind the youngest of the triplets ended up overpowering them. Somehow he had launched four fireballs instead of three, instantly turning them into ashes. Seeing such a display, Arthur wondered if that was due to his buff spells?

Anyway, with the mages down, Arthur knew for a fact the battle was officially over.

And as he had thought after the second and third triplets joined Leo, the battle ended in mere moments.

With that, Arthur's first ever battle in another world came to an en–.

[Did you forget there is one more?] Yuki said exasperatedly from within his arms… When did she get there?

[Oh, right, Yuki, do you think he would attack?]

[After going to such lengths to kill that gir– humph, actually I hope he attacks.] Yuki said with a pout.

[Is he stro–]

BOOOOOOOOOOOM
