Butler Albert nodded in appreciation, "Young Arthur is correct with your assumptions."
For someone so young to understand, made him quite impressed.
One wrong step they take could lead to a national war.
And they would be the only ones to blame for the deaths of millions or billions of lives. Each nation has its own allies and in times of need, they would have to lend their aid, whether it is financially, lending troops to aid in the war, and, or many other things.
The scariest of all is if they gave a third party a chance to take advantage of the chaos caused by the Vampire Kingdom and Dragon Empire.
"Father's carriage has been destroyed, how will we travel back now,?" Scarlet said as she pointed at the now destroyed carriage, which looked like nothing but scraps of wood everywhere.
Leo, had long since noticed that the carriage was unusable; however, due to the earlier conversation he didn't want to bring up another dreary topic, but since his young miss had "Not only that, the horses have also been killed, if they were alive we could have let young miss take one of them back to the capital."
Jiang, realizing that they might have to walk back, couldn't help but grind his teeth together, "...They could have at least left the horses alone."
Already used to his antics, the others did not argue with him as they thought of possible ways to get back home.
Arthur; however, found it quite amusing after all who would give their enemies a chance to escape?
"The nearest town is a day's away even by carriage. As for walking… how could we ask our young miss to walk for days… especially after she had been cursed." Albert interjected even if his young miss could use her mana to support herself in walking, but for how long? Even if they took breaks in between their travels to allow her to naturally regain mana, the curse afflicting her would worsen as a result of over usage of mana.
"Father, we could wait here for another carriage to come by." Leo replied unconfidently after not being able to think of another way.
Quan agreed with Leo, as he added."This is the main trade route merchant carriages take to go back and forth between our Kingdom and the Dragon Empire."
Hearing that, the others agreed, especially Jiang since he didn't want to walk, but even then, they all looked towards their young miss, wanting to know what she thought.
As for Scarlet, she instead looked towards Arthur who's sleeve she still held onto, "Arthur, what do you think we should do? Should I use my spatial treasure or should we wait here for a carriage to pass by?
Arthur didn't know why he was being asked to make such an important decision, but he still replied "I can almost guarantee that the last suicidal attack from the black robed man was something he had expected to work. Even if he didn't think so, I doubt he has any means of contact with whoever wanted your assassination, so I doubt they would send more enemies. And just like Leo, I think our best option is to wait here for another carriage like what I did before you guys showed up." As for what happened to the black robed assassin, Arthur didn't need anyone to tell him because while Yuki and him were still inside the carriage waiting for Scarlet to change. Yuki had informed him that after throwing some kind of ball at the carriage his soul extinguished. As to the reason why his soul extinguished it might have to do with a Soul Binding Contract to stop him from betraying or leaking any information during interrogation if he were kept alive.
After hearing what Arthur said Scarlet clapped her hands with mana and cheekily said, "Okay, let's set up a temporary camp. Jiang, you go lie down on the road and tell us when you see a carriage."
"Yes, young miss... But why should I lie down on the road? Can't I stay on the side of it?" Jiang said not understanding, but Arthur obviously did as he started blushing. How could he not when he was literally laying on the road before Scarlet's carriage showed up, though it wasn't his intention in the first place, It was all Yuki's fault. Even then he completely understood she was talking about him.
The second person who understood his young miss's weird antic was Leo who couldn't stop himself from chuckling.
Seeing Arthur's blushing face and Leo chuckling, everyone wanted to know the meaning behind their behavior, but before they could ask Arthur changed the topic not wanting everyone to know, "Before we start camp we need to allocate work to everyone and most importantly do something about the corpses before the magical beasts from the forest come out. Otherwise, we would have made unnecessary enemies." Arthur said, trying to divert the topic from his previously embarrassing display.
The others did not suspect anything, not even Leo, but Scarlet did as she suppressed a giggle, but didn't stop his diversion and simply agreed, "Arthur is right, the Gaia Forest is home to some of the strongest magical beasts on our continent if they were to smell blood then even though there is a silent agreement in place between the neighboring Vampire Kingdom and Dragon Empire they would definitely come out. After all, the agreement made was non binding."
Butler Albert: "Young Arthur and Young miss are absolutely correct."
Jiang: "Then why don't we move away from the corpses? That should be fine."
Ren: "Do you even think before opening your mouth sometimes?"
Jiang: "Am I supposed to?"
Everyone: "..."
"Alright you two, let's focus."
Scarlet, who was already used to their antics, stopped them before they kept going on.
"We first need to deal with the corpses, the already spilled blood, and finally repair the destroyed road. As for the corpses, we should giv-"
"Young miss, since they are our enemies, there is no need to give them a proper burial." Leo interjected.
"Young miss, Leo is right, it's best we gather the corpses together and burn them to ash using Jiang's fire magic"
"Elder brother is right, leave it to me." Jiang said as thumped his chest with his hand.
"... Sigh, young miss please leave the corpses and the cleanup to us three brothers"
Before Scarlet could reply, "Young miss, I agree with Quan's method of allocation, especially with the current time of day we should allocate the workload among us. That being said, please allow my son and I the duty of repairing the road." Butler Albert said with a polite bow after looking up at the sun which had already started to set.
"Though, I would like to help but… W-well, if everyone doesn't mind then Quan, Ren, and Jiang please handle the corpses and the spilled blood. As for the craters, I will leave it to you Uncle Albert and Leo."
Quan: "Rest assured, Young miss!"
Ren: "I will make sure I watch over Jiang as well, lest he screws something up again."
Jiang: "What is that supposed to mean?"
Butler Albert and Leo: "Leave it to me!"
With that Arthur watched as Quan led Ren and Jiang toward the corpses...
