Chapter 2 - There's No Home Anymore

About half a month ago.

Wu Hen received an ancient bronze key.

If you insert the key into the door of any room, it opens up and becomes a passage to another world.

This made Wu Hen remember the novels he used to read, where the protagonist traveled to different worlds, guided by his own intentions.

Only in this case, he was a little behind and needed a key to manually open the door.

But that didn't matter, as long as he could pass through, the method didn't matter.

The original location of the other world was a remote village.

It was poor and backward, and its inhabitants were xenophobic.

Wu Hen found a caravan road and after half a month of travel reached the nearest city - Blackstone.

Just at the moment when he was ready to use the key to sell items from the two worlds and gain freedom and wealth.

The world had completely changed.

The impression of the modern world disappeared, replaced by hordes of wandering zombies, and from the corridor came the sounds of pounding and hammering on the door of the room.

Wu Hen was stunned.

He had just been in a hurry for half a month, ready to get rich.

And home was gone.

Inexpressible gloom hung over his heart when he saw how the city he lived in turned into this.

He didn't know the reasons why this happened.

But it could be assumed that if he hadn't rushed to the other world when the zombie outbreak occurred, he would likely have become one of them, as he feared.

It was said that electricity could be stored, and even if power generation stopped, there would be enough for a few months, but here the electricity had stopped and they didn't dare drink the water.

Fortunately, the city of "Black Rock" was nearby, which could satisfy his living needs.

After tightly drawing the curtains, Wu Hen took the prepared weapons and left the bedroom.

There weren't too many things in the living room, and he had taken many of them to Blackstone City to exchange for money.

And now, in the current situation, they were barely used.

In the corner by the wall stood a skeletal warrior with pathetic white bones.

This was the same zombie that hung in the iron basket outside the window when he returned last time.

He had summoned such additional undead himself.

[Skeleton Warrior].

[Level: 1 (0/100)].

[Attributes: Constitution x10, Strength x12, Agility x8].

The "Skeleton Warrior" summoning technique comes in two forms.

The first is summoning an ordinary corpse, where the shape and attributes of the summoned object largely depend on the body.

In other words, the stronger the corpse was during life, the stronger the summoned skeleton.

The other way is to summon a number of white bones.

By gathering scattered broken bones up to a certain amount, a skeleton soldier could be summoned.

- Take it! - Wu Hen handed him the iron sword.

*Clatter!*

There was a sound of bones rubbing against each other, and the warrior skeleton, standing at the ready, raised his stiff hand and grabbed the outstretched iron sword.

Without letting go of the sword, he stood waiting for the next order.

Wu Hen picked up the short spear and tried swinging it a few times.

Thinking about it, he found a saucepan lid in the kitchen and wrapped it around his hand to serve as a shield.

Made the final preparations.

Approaching the front door, he put his ear to it.

Barely audible footsteps and shuffling across the floor could be heard.

Judging by the sound, there weren't too many zombies on the staircase, and if there were only one or two, they could be dealt with without difficulty.

While one could kill one, the number of skeleton warriors would grow.

Even if there was danger, as long as he didn't get infected or retreat, everything would be fine.

- The advantage is mine, it's not a big problem.

After these reflections, there were no more doubts.

Allowing the skeleton warrior to also take up position at the door, he took a deep breath and immediately opened the door.

As soon as the door cracked open a little, an even thicker, unpleasant stench hit his face.

His throat itched, he had to dry cough subconsciously.

And afraid to attract zombies, he struggled to restrain himself.

Opening all the doors, one could see the corridor, smeared with blood and scratches on the walls, the dark red dirty ground, a scene like a horror movie, shocking overall.

Fortunately, he did not encounter any zombies as soon as he went outside.

- Get out! - Wu Hen ordered in a low voice.

Carrying the iron sword, the skeleton warrior obeyed the order and went out, Wu Hen falsely closed the room door behind him and followed after him.

Only after coming out did he see that the zombie standing in the corner under the stairs heard the sound and turned its head to look up.

The hair was covered with bloody scabs and knots, the skin was gray with greenish-black veins all over the body, the mouth was wide open with black jagged teeth.

- That's the old lady who lives on the second floor, - said Wu Heng.

Earlier she had also said she would introduce herself to someone.

It seems she can't wait.

The sudden appearance of a human and skeleton also slightly stunned the zombie.

Then he let out a vicious hiss and rushed up the stairs.

- Kill him! - Wu Hen tensed up and ordered decisively.

He had to face the zombie, and this was the first step to moving forward.

The skeleton warriors immediately met them with their swords.

The zombie with a fierce aura rushed upwards, while the skeleton warrior towered over him, and the iron sword in his hand smoothly lowered down.

*Puff!*

There was a sound of entering flesh, the iron sword powerfully hacked at the zombie's shoulder.

The zombie felt no pain, but his body lowered, his legs tripped on the steps, and the upper body directly drilled through the skeleton's crotch.

Opening his jaws, he smoothly bit into Wu Hen's crotch from behind.

This attack scared him, and he quickly retreated.

Retreating, he examined the lower half of his body to make sure nothing was there, and breathed a sigh of relief.

The zombie drilled the skeleton's crotch, hissing incessantly.

*Puff!*

The iron sword pierced the zombie's body.

Wu Hen picked up the short spear and also struck the eye socket.

*Thwack!*

The zombie flailed his arms and the short spear bounced off, hitting his forehead.

There was a sound, but the skull was not pierced, the zombie resisted more strongly and rose up, almost tipping the skeleton over.

Then the skeleton and zombie, intertwined together, tumbled down the stairs.

Wu Hen gripped his iron spear tightly, intending to kill the skeleton along with the zombie.

Suddenly there was a commotion from above, and another zombie with a body full of rotting flesh and blood quickly ran down.

Seeing Wu Hen, he immediately jumped down and rushed at the steps.

- Damn it!

A tense feeling of crisis rose up in his heart.

Wu Hen had no time to think of a plan, raised his shield.

With a crash the zombie fell down from a height, black blood splashing everywhere.

Wu Hen's body was knocked back and slammed into the wall behind him.

The zombie tumbled down the stairs, Wu Hen gritted his teeth and stood up, the iron spear in his hand accurately pierced the charging zombie, and the already rotting body showed tremendous durability.

Striking the body was like striking soft skin.

Several spear strikes did not inflict fatal injuries on the zombie.

The zombie also quickly got up and attacked again, Wu Hen warded it off with his shield and pierced its chest and abdomen with the short spear.

If he was scratched or bitten, it would really be the end.

He glanced at the hidden room door behind him and wondered if he should retreat.

A hint appeared in his ears.

[Gained +10 experience].

[Skeleton Warrior experience +5].

The fight in the corner was already over, and the skeleton warrior, taking advantage of his weapon, crushed the zombie's head and killed it.

- Come here and kill this target.

The skeleton warrior quickly approached and stopped in front of Wu Hen, the iron sword in his hand struck the zombie again.

Skeletons and zombies fought very similarly, practically undefended and unresisting.

They just hit each other.

After getting rid of the entangled zombie, Wu Hen quickly retreated to the corner and applied the "Skeleton Service" technique to the just-killed zombie.

Necromantic magic enveloped the corpse.

The flesh and blood of the zombie melted away like hot wax, and a skeleton with human bones rose up, propping itself up with its hands on the ground.

- Go on, attack, - Wu Hen pointed to the place of the skirmish upstairs.

The skeleton warrior, who had just risen, receiving the order, rushed to attack bare-handed.

Wu Hen, for his part, shook his hand to relieve the pain from the blow.

The saucepan lid on his hand was already twisted and deformed, but thanks to this simple shield it blocked the zombie's blow when it mattered.

This zombie wasn't necessarily very strong.

The most unpleasant thing was the toxins in the body.

If you got scratched or bitten, you would really die an unfair death.

The battle upstairs continued.

The two skeletons blocked the zombie in the corner, one with a sword, the other with fists, blows rained down like rain.

Black blood and crushed meat flew in all directions.

Finally, amid furious roars and ragged blows, the zombie's neck was pierced with a sword, and the body could not withstand it, collapsing lifeless.

[Gained +10 experience].

[Skeleton Warrior experience +5].

And again the experience was increased.

It was exactly the same as in games.

That's why he chose Necromancer.

The city of Blackstone did not allow him to experiment with magic and summon undead creatures.

But he had this world.

In this world, he could fully rely on zombies to increase his level and accumulate power.

If he had power, then the restrictions imposed by the city of Blackstone on necromancers would be lifted.

- Wow!

Blood and flesh were everywhere, and the third skeleton warrior rose to his feet again.

Two more zombies slowly climbed up from below.

- Attack!
