Chapter 5 - New level

*Tap-tap-tap!*

Loud footsteps sounded.

Based on the number of residents in the building, it was impossible for so many zombies to appear.

Unless all the residents were living in this building.

But that was clearly impossible.

The only explanation - the door to the apartment was left open, and the zombies got into the building.

"Damn it!" Wu Hen cursed his bad luck.

Turning around, he wanted to take the skeletal warriors and retreat to the roof of the building.

But as soon as he turned, his steps stopped again.

The building was narrow, and the skeletal warriors in his hands might come in handy.

Besides, sooner or later this side would have to be cleared, and the next passage into the building might not be safe.

Even if nothing works out, when the time comes, he will return to the roof and block the iron door.

Thinking quickly, he decided to try.

More and more zombies with gray skin and ugly faces crowded, pushed and tore upstairs.

Wu Hen was no longer hesitating either and ordered decisively: "Attack."

The skeletal warriors began to attack.

*Click!*

A knife pierced the crown, and the zombie fell to the ground.

And behind, even more zombies attacked at the same time: clawed, dodging, tearing, using all possible attack methods, intending to tear the target in front of them to pieces.

The skeletal warriors, on the other hand, continued to wave their weapons, striking the attacking zombies.

The building was located in a narrow place, so no more than two or three zombies could attack side by side.

In the crush and crush, some zombies were squeezed off the parapet or trampled underfoot, unable to raise their heads.

The sounds of zombie roars, claws and stabbing blows, breaking bones incessantly rang out through the building.

"When I have a chance, I must study more long-range skills!"

Wu Hen stood behind the skeletons, muttering and poking with a short spear.

Close combat was too tiring...

During the battle, many zombies died, and many were trampled to death by the zombies walking behind them.

The scene was very chaotic.

On the other hand, the number of skeletal warriors was also decreasing rapidly.

This caused Wu Hen mental pain.

After all, under his watchful gaze, the skeletons constantly turned into piles of broken bones.

Wu Hen stopped spending endurance on moving the stabbing spear and began to apply his technique.

The skeleton stood in the place where the two sides were fighting.

Without requiring an order, they waved their fists and rushed at the zombies.

The battle became even more intense, one after the other, like two waves of an ant colony, colliding with each other.

Pushing and tearing each other apart, they continued to fight.

Wu Hen walked behind, beads of sweat had already appeared on his forehead.

In the previous battle, he was given time to rest and recover.

But this time everything was different: the high intensity of continuous use of the "Bone Service Technique" made him feel the pressure.

His whole body was covered in sweat, his kidneys weakened, and his head tingled.

At the Blackstone Town Tavern he heard people talking about it.

A mage's frequent work on spells was especially exhausting on morale.

Physical overexertion only damaged the muscles, which could be restored after a period of regeneration.

Spiritual exhaustion - in serious cases, but it could result in dementia, and even turn into a vegetable.

[Your level has increased to 2 / Gained: intellect +1, strength +1, and a small amount of mental power].

At that moment, a signal sounded in his ears.

Level up!

Just at the moment when Wu Hen felt that he was about to reach the limit of his capabilities, a "sharp signal" sounded in his ears.

In an instant, the tingling sensation in his head eased a little.

"Time to join the fight!"

At this time, the skeleton squad was in position on the third floor, so all that was left for them was to destroy the first floor and close the door behind them.

Continuing to shout: "Attack with full force."

Wow!

More than fifty skeletons moved forward, with choppers in their hands, skeletons with bare hands, strongly pressing the zombies who began to retreat.

Wu Hen and several skeletons quickly ran back to the roof of the building.

Glancing at the construction materials, he pointed to a sheet of blue painted iron and said, "Pick this up."

The skeletal warriors picked up the iron sheet and carried it to the edge of the roof.

At Wu Hen's command, they threw it down.

*Boom!*

The iron fell with a loud bang.

As if on cue, all the zombies around went mad and scattered.

They pounced on the blue painted iron and trampled it.

Wu Hen quickly retreated into the building, and the zombies crowding below did decrease significantly.

"Hurry up and kill them!"

The skeletal warriors continued to advance, and the battle became more and more tense.

Attacking to the very door...

After releasing several skeletons from the door to attract the zombies' attention, the iron door on the stairs was completely closed.

*Bang-bang-bang!*

The zombies pounded the iron door hard, loud bangs sounded...

After killing the remaining zombies in the hallway, he forced the skeletal warriors to carry out more items and blocked the door to the stairs with another layer.

Fortunately, the zombies were clearly not very intelligent.

After knocking on the iron door for some time and realizing that there was no movement from the inside, they gradually dispersed, attracted by other sounds.

They did not continue to destroy the pathetic door...

Wu Hen sat in the house, leaning his forehead against the wall and breathing heavily.

The situation was really dangerous.

And if you remember, it makes your heart stop.

Fortunately, the door to the stairs was blocked, otherwise it would have been unpleasant.

After some rest, his condition improved slightly.

The corpses and broken bones were piled up in the hallway.

He also did not intend to use the "Bone Service Bone" technique.

The doorway was still blocked anyway, so it wouldn't be too late to come back and use it tomorrow when his condition improved.

Stepping over the corpses, he began to direct the remaining skeletal warriors, going from house to house and clearing out zombies in the houses, as well as collecting loot.

...

Inside the third floor room.

Wu Hen held a black motorcycle helmet in his hands and looked at it carefully.

The owner of the room, who must have been a motorcycle enthusiast, could have many motorcycle-related items, as well as some outdoor gear.

Climbing ropes, portable lighting - there were all kinds of things.

But he was most interested in the sturdy helmet he held in his hand.

Fully composite construction, with clear plastic windscreen at the front, capable of preventing blood from getting into the eyes and mouth during combat with zombies.

The material should be composite, it was durable, and the weight was within acceptable limits.

Taking off his leather hat, he put on the helmet.

It feels good, only a little stuffy, but for safety you can endure it.

He put on a leather helmet on a skeletal warrior with an iron sword.

Having collected everything that could be useful, he took over this place and moved into the next room to continue searching.

Dusk.

Returning to Blackstone Town, he simply had a bite to eat and went to sleep.

Today's mental energy expenditure was too great, so spear training would stop for the day.

...

The next day, noon.

Zombie world.

In the morning, Wu Hen turned all the corpses that were on the second floor stairs yesterday into skeletal warriors.

Transforming and resting took several hours.

At the moment, a huge crowd of skeletons stood on the roof of the building.

They had choppers and hammers in their hands, and they still retained some dynamics.

After counting, there were a total of 52 skeletal warriors.

This was less than expected: after yesterday's killing of so many zombies, after the transformation there were only two left.

Most of the remaining skeletons were summoned from the ground in the morning with 0.0 experience.

Skeleton progression was a very bad thing that needed to be properly planned.

At least train some high-level ones first.

After distributing weapons to the new skeletons, Wu Hen opened his attributes again.

[Name: Wu Hen].

[Profession: Necromancer].

[Level: 2 (550/900)].

[Attributes: Strength x9, Agility x11, Stamina x13, Intellect x15, Perception x10, Charisma x12].

[Skill: Bone Service Technique].

The level was raised to 2, and stamina and intellect were improved.

It was a little better than the skeleton, but not much.

He really improved, but again, not much.

The effect was almost imperceptible...

Sitting aside, he waited for his mental and physical strength to recover.

Getting up, he put on a motorcycle helmet, lowering the visor, and commanded: "Follow me!"

*Woof!*

More than fifty skeletons moved after him.

Arriving at the iron gates of the third building.

Taking out the bronze key, he carefully opened the door.

A cold and rotten smell penetrated through the mask and bubbled in the nostrils.

The stairwell was unusually quiet, with several mutilated corpses left on the floor.

Looking at the corpses on the floor, Wu Hen frowned.

Were the zombies dead?

How can you kill zombies?

Were there survivors here?
