But the person did not and instead knocked again. This made her mad as she walked to the door to open it and found Alastor standing there with a handkerchief in his hand.
"Are you okay?" he asked as she walked into the toilet with a smile.
"I'm fine. I'm actually better than fine."
"You're lying. You know you don't have to be so brave with me."
"Why not? It's not like you care."
"If I didn't I would not be here," he said with a straightforward face, looking into the mirror to adjust his tie. "Come on, let's get out there and have the long table lunch with everyone. After that we will be on our way."
She nodded to this before following him out.
When they walked to their table, she picked up her purse as she went through it to get out the ring she had bought to give to Jake so he would propose to her.
She wore it on top of the ring Alastor had given to her as he walked with him to the long table to sit for the lunch.
Everyone sat around a long table with the waiters serving the food. Jake settled into his seat with his bride as they kissed before he stole a glance at Janet, giving her a dirty smile which had her looming away in disgust.
"It's okay," Alastor's very low deep voice said to her as she nodded, however when she looked back at the groom who was giving her a dirty look, she knew she could not contain it anymore.
With a swift move, she got to her feet with her cup in her hand ready to make a toast as she clinked her fork against the cup getting everyone's attention.
"To the couple I wish them a wonderful marriage," she said, giving her best friend and her ex boyfriend a fake smile before turning to the guest. "And in the light of marriage, I just wanted to announce my own marriage with my own fiancé."
Everyone widened their eyes in shock including Alastor who had not seen this coming.
People started to clap and congratulate them as the man put his hands on the table in rage.
"I'm sorry," she settled into her seat. "I could not help it. He was giving me the dirty look and I had to do something."
"Using me as an excuse is wrong and you know it. Especially when I asked you countless times whether the plan was still the plan."
"I can see how mad you are and I apologize for it but I was caught up in the moment that I could not hold it in."
The man closed his hands in anger as some people on the table saw his ring and this caused a mini uproar.
He heard gasps and whispers around the table which had him looking around at people pointing to his finger.
"Okay, what is going on right now?" Janet asked with a confused look on his face as he shrugged as he had bigger problems.
"Wait, I know that ring," an old woman on the table said as she stood up to point at Alastor. "That ring has the insignia of a horn. It shows that whoever wears that ring either stole it or is the heir to the A enterprise. So which is it, young man?"
"Nana, calm down," Jake stood to his feet to tell the old woman to settle down. He looked at Alastor with a deep sigh. "Forgive my grandmother but you'll need to tell us where you got the ring."
"Why is the ring so important to you?" the man smiled. "It belongs to me and I did not steal anything."
Everyone around gasped as they rounded the man to have a closer look at the ring. These were members of the family who knew about the ring and they were shocked to see it on this man's hand.
"Who are you?" the old woman said again with a bitter tone as she refused to believe that he had not stolen the ring.
"My name is Alastor and yes I am the true heir to the A enterprise," the man said with a smirk while looking at Jake. "My father told me the story of how his father and your grandfather had met and it was a story to behold."
Everyone that was a part of the family knew the story too well as the strangers were confused at what was going on.
"Hey, what is going on?" Janet asked as she was confused.
"Nothing much, it's just really a big deal," he said, trying to blow her off but she was not having it.
"No, I want to know what is going on. It's looking like a big deal to everyone but not you and I want to know what this is."
He sighed knowing she would not back down, "Fine. Jake's grandfather had met my grandfather years ago when his company was dying and asked my old man for help.
"He decided that he was going to will around eighty percent of whatever he had to my grandfather if he should help him save the company and my old man agreed to it. He saved the company and the company has been doing well ever since.
"However, due to this, I indirectly am the heir to their own company and your ex boyfriend Jake is just the stand-in heir since I own eighty percent and he owns…"
"Twenty," she sighed leaning into her chair with a smile on her face. "This is perfect."
However Alastor had not told the full story as he was the man who had met with Jake's grandfather.
If he was to say it to the people on the table no one would believe him and they would call him a liar. It would be more weird if they looked at him and found it to be true.
He chuckled at the possibility of them knowing.
