After the first week of class, thing seemed to calm down a bit. Allen continued to practice the spells from The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1 using his wand, of course he continued to cast the Wand Raising charm before he casted anything, since he could feel it helped him somewhat. His wand responded in kind and made it easier for him to cast the spells, and while the vast majority of spells didn't hurt him like the first transfiguration spell, he could still feel a prickling sensation all over him.
It looked like transfiguration would be the hardest subject for him, not because of the difficulty of the subject, but because of the pain it causes him whenever he tries to transfigurate something with his wand. In the following classes of transfiguration, every time Professor McGonagall gave them the exercise, he would always try it first without a wand and manage to do it almost effortlessly, yet, when his wand was involved, it always caused him to use a lot of magic and a lot of pain. Allen continued to train in the use of the first transfiguration spell using his wand to see if things would change and it did change a bit, the pain lessened, and so did the amount of magic he needed to use, but every time they learned a new transfiguration method he would need to practice it more times than the others using his wand so he could reach the same proficiency.
One time, after he practiced one of the newest transfiguration spells from Professor McGonnagall, Allen was laying down on the ground, grabbing his wand with his left hand in an empty classroom, wondering if it was necessary to go through all this pain just to caught up with eleven years old when he could do it effortlessly without a wand.
The moment he thought of stop using his wand, a small shock came running through him, coming from his wand, as if it could read his thoughts. Allen just answered back sending his wand a wave of the Wand Raising charm, he got proficient enough in the spell that he didn't even need to say the incantation out loud. The sudden wave of magic wrapped around his wand, making it calm down and Allen just gave it the side eye. What did I even do to deserve such a temperamental wand? Out of all the cores, why did the pickiest had to choose me? Allen massaged his brow while continuing to send waves of the wand raising charm to calm it down, it almost became a second nature to him to use it to calm down his wand.
Today was Saturday, a free day for Allen until detention, so he decided to practice the whole day until his detention started. But seeing how his wand was behaving after he thought about not using it anymore, he decided to go out and get a change of pace. Allen stood up from the floor, and pocketed his wand in one of his pockets, then cleaned everything he messed around with in the classroom, he moved the desk back where they were and even sweep the floor, all of it using his magic. Allen waited for the shock to come after he finished, but it looks like his wand decided to forgive him this time, or maybe it didn't know he used magic, in any case, he packed up and went out of the classroom, thinking on the two objects he needed to steal from two different faculty members, the Marauder's Map and the Half-Blood Prince book or Advance Potion-Making.
The map would be easier, since he already memorized the magical mark of the caretaker Filch and his companion, Mrs Norris. Since Filch its a squib, Allen thought that he might not have a magic light inside of him, but contrary to his belief, he does, just in a weird manner, while in other people the light is almost like a ball in the middle of their chest, in Filch's case there are dots of light all over his body, but they are not normal dots, since if you take a closer look, you can see that they are all ripped and broken.
Something that comes to mind though he is not sure, is that all of these small ripped and broken particles used to be part of his ball of light that most wizards have, but something in his birth must've ripped it.
Could it have been a traumatic event with the Mediwitch? Or with the Healer? Would it be possible to gather all of those ripped parts and hold them together? No, I don't think so, some of those parts looks like they are almost fading, so maybe in the first steps of infancy something could have been done? But how would you even manage to control another's person magic? I can let someone feel my magic so they can feel theirs, but arranging it and keeping it together seems impossible.
Such thoughts ran in his head until he reached the Entrance Hall and could see the Pepperpot, where Filch's office is. Allen looked towards it and saw no light inside of the tower, taking this chance he activated his magic to physical enhance his body to run faster and quietly, two magics he practiced a lot in the orphanage.
After he entered the tower, he looked around him, searching for a cabinet full of light, then, to his right, there it was, a multitude of lights emanating from the far right cabinet in the room, he looked back just to confirm that no one was coming and continued with the plan.
While Allen wasn't sure if the map would have a light, he was sure that the other objects that Filch confiscated would give away the location of where he stashed the map. When he opened the first door, a variety of objects greeted him, from dung bombs to magical toys, but he wasn't here for any of that, he searched around all of the objects until he found a few pieces of parchment, none of them emitted any light. Allen frowned, not knowing if any of those were the real map or just random papers he confiscated so he decided to continue searching.
Every so often he would look back to make sure Filch or Mrs Norris weren't coming, then he would continue. Allen was almost on the point of giving up since he spent already so much time searching for it, Filch could be coming any minute. Just this last one and I'm done.
Until he found a square parchment which was folded a few times, he concentrated more and could see a dim light coming from it. Allen wasn't sure if this was the map but there was no more time, he would get caught if he continued searching so he put all the trinkets back were they were and he ran out of the Pepperpot with a few pieces of parchment between his arms.
Allen put all of them in his backpack, making sure to make a separate space for them, since he didn't want to mix them up with his regular school supplies.
He continued to look around him, searching for Filch's light or his cat but seeing as how they weren't even in his vision, they must have been scolding another student or Peeves.
He decided to stop running and walked instead, making him less suspicious. Allen walked back to the previous empty classroom to try the map, or see if he actually picked it up, he silently apologized to the Weasley twins, but first come first serve.
Allen picked up one of the desks and put all the parchments he got, decided to start with the last one, the only that showed a hint of magic, he picked it up and pulled out his wand but as he was about to say the password for the map, he realized something. I… don't remember what the words are to activate the map… Fuck.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following days after that incident Allen wrote down as many combinations as possible to what could be the password that ranged from "I have bad intentions so let me use you" to "I promise I am to no good" which only resulted in the piece of parchment insulting him, which in the bright side, it was progress since it showed him that it was indeed the correct map.
On the downside, their insults varied from the most childish ones like "snakes shouldn't take what's not theirs" to a bunch of words he honestly didn't understand, which he assumed was British insults.
How did a piece of parchment knew that he was from Slytherin? He couldn't say, but it knew, and it also knew that he stole it from Filch's office, or maybe the parchment assumed that Allen stole it from the original Marauders? In any case, the map is his now, and he only has to remember the password to use it.
As strange as it sounds, he remembers perfectly how to make the map hide all of its secrets. "Mischief managed" Allen muttered one time yet it didn't respond to it, only after a while with a half insult half advice, telling him that he was getting close but honestly, he didn't believe it.
So, Allen decided to forget about the map for a while, not before putting it in a safe space inside his backpack, always checking if it was there.
The days continued to pass by, they didn't felt as long anymore, but it tired him a lot to be looked at with fear, which then prompted the students to run away whenever they saw him, some professors questioned Allen about that, but he just answered them saying that he didn't know why they reacted like that.
While Allen preferred to be feared than mocked, it turned out to be more tiresome than anything, since the windmill of rumor doesn't stop in Hogwarts and it only continues to grows until the story becomes unbelievable.
One day, when they were doing their homework in the library, Sophia asked Allen if it was true that he can fly in the sky and levitate people to smash them against the ground while his eyes shine with a malevolent light.
Allen slowly looked up from his book towards Sophia, wondering if he heard her correctly. "Ah? I'm sorry Sophia, but what? What does that even mean?"
"Well, you know, Oliver said to Sandy which prompted Sandy to tell to Ginger, and Ginger told Robert then he told Elsie which then she told me what happened in your common room.
So, is it true? You know how to fly?"
Allen turned his head towards Armand and William, while Armand was still concentrating in his homework, William was holding back the urge to laugh out loud at the absurdity of Sophia's statement.
Allen massaged his brow, wondering how to respond. "If I knew how to fly without a broom, I would do it instead of taking the stairs."
"But what about the other stuff? Can you levitate people in the air and then smack them in the ground?" Elsie joined the conversation after listening for a while.
"… I haven't tried it yet, the heaviest thing I can lift is a bookshelf."
"Eek!" Both Sophia and Elsie let out a small scream, hugging each other as if they were scared of Allen.
"Ah, come on! I wouldn't do that to anyone!" He said, almost shouting, but making sure his voice was contained in their small bubble using his magic. "Unless they deserve it." He muttered quietly.
Apparently they heard him say that as well, since they let out the same reaction as before. "So it is true! Even your eyes ares shining right now!" Sophia said.
"Wh- What? Are they shining? Pass me a mirror!" Elsie handed him a small mirror where he looked at himself and his eyes were indeed shining with the usual tint of green light whenever he uses magic. Just like right now, he casted a type of bubble around their table so Madam Prince wouldn't hear them talking, so it made sense that his eyes shone. But I thought that only I could see that light, or does it mean that only I can see the light of everyone else but whenever I use magic they can see mine?
"This… is kind of a birth mark, or something…" Allen said, not fully believing it himself either.
"A birthmark? That make your eyes shine sometimes and sometimes not? You think we are dumb Allen?" Sophia remarked.
"N- No, I honestly don't know either why it happens. I swear" He put his left hand on top of his chest, showing that he was serious.
"Hmm, Alright then, I believe you, since I do see sometimes the light go and sometimes not. Just wanted to test you a bit." Sophia let a smug grin show on her face.
"Same here" Elsie added.
"And here."
"Here too." William and Armand said after the girls.
"Urgh, If you guys knew why didn't you tell me?" Allen asked them.
"Well, I thought it was something similar to a metamorphmagus and since you didn't tell us either, I assume it was something normal to you, sorry." Armand sincerely apologized for not telling him.
William turned towards Allen. "Yeah, same here mate, honestly, I wanted to ask, but since Armand didn't I felt like it was normal, but you should've seen how scary you looked when Avery and his goons saw your eyes, that's part of the reason why they ran so fast!"
"Oh, well, nice to know my eyes scare people, I suppose?"
"Hmm, they are nice eyes, I like the colour green." Sophia said before turning back to her homework. "N- Not that I like your eyes specifically, they are scary sometimes as well!"
"I get it Sophia, thanks" Allen waved a hand, letting her know that it was ok.
Even after going out of his way to keep his magic active the whole time, people still found out about his eyes. Allen wondered if it was worth it to keep it up or to stop doing it. He looked towards his friends and thought that it would be better to continue like that for a while. Maybe I can fool people by doing magic at random times of the day so they don't realize my eyes shine because I'm using magic. Yeah, that could work. Allen planned his next move so people wouldn't be able to tell anymore what activated the shine in his eyes, then turned back to his homework, it needed to be finished before five o'clock since he still has a detention to attend.
