Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 I can sleep on the mattress

"It's not her. She's already dead."

The woman who had dared to offend him was already long in a fire before he had a chance to get the ending she deserved.

Jade Springfield picked up Bun and approached them. With a searching gaze, she regarded the man. "Are you Bun's father?"

"Yes," Altair Mo replied weakly.

When she got the expected response, Jade Springfield frowned. With reluctance in her eyes, she looked at Bun. "Bun, your dad is here for you. You should go with him."

Once Bun heard Jade Springfield tell him to go away, big tears started coming out of his big round eyes.

"N-no. I'll go. I want mommy!"

Bun buried his face in Jade Springfield's arms. His hands, which were as big as steamed buns, crumpled Jade's shirt and he refused to let go.

Jade Springfield couldn't bear to be separated from Bun either. Besides, she had already promised Bun that she would make fried shrimp for him that night.

"But he is your father. He came for you."

Bun cried and said, "I'm leaving!" Because I have difficulty speaking, he could not speak clearly.

Even so, Altair Mo and the others were shocked. Last time, when Bun was in the house, they wouldn't have been able to hear him speak even after a whole month. But now, how many words had he said in those few minutes? The boy had even started to cry!

Altair Mo stepped forward, the woman's figure reflected in his dark eyes. He narrowed his eyes a little. "You he doesn't want to leave now, let him stay."

Jade Springfield looked at Altair Mo. She couldn't understand what she meant. Lucien Goldstein blinked. He was also confused.

"I'll stay here with him, for now," added Altair Mo.

Jade Springfield narrowed her eyes at Altair Mo, trying to find traces of the man joking, but she found none.

"My house is small. You won't be able to fit inside."

"Okay. I can put a mattress on the floor and sleep on it." As Altair Mo spoke, he took out the part of his dress shirt that was tucked under his belt and squeezed out the water. "Do you have clean clothes that I can borrow?"

Jade Springfield took a brief look at Altair Mo's abdominal muscles and showed no expression.

They are mine. They won't fit you.

"Okay. It's still better than wearing wet clothes," Altair Mo said.

"So come with me." After Jade Springfield finished speaking, she held onto Bun and walked ahead of them.

Altair Mo followed her and extended his hand. "Should I take it?"

Bun shrank further in Jade Springfield's arms, and she moved slightly to the side with Bun in her arms. Altair Mo's composite mask wrinkled a bit on her beautiful face.

"It's very heavy". Allair Mo felt that he needed to emphasize that he was not here to steal from Bun.

"It's not heavy. I find it quite light." Jade Springfield protected Bun in her arms. She did not intend to give Bun to Altair Mo.

Jade Springfield stopped walking after taking a few steps forward. She turned around and looked at the red plastic bucket and the basket of rice. "Could you take those?"

"Good." Altair Mo took them back,

"Boss, leave me." Just as Dante Westwood went to grab them, he saw Altair Mo pick up the plastic bucket and basket of rice. Then his boss gave him a look that he couldn't understand. But in the end, he didn't get a friendly look.

Altair followed Jade Springfield with the plastic bucket and basket of rice. When Dante Westwood saw this, he felt that his boss resembled a husband in a town who followed his wife to work.

Lucien Goldstein gasped in amazement and made a sarcastic quip: "And he said he was here to take a trip. Look at his boss. He came to town to find a partner?"
