Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Why would there be ice cream if you didn't buy it

Jade Springfield sent the message. [The youngest son of the Mo family is next to me.]

"That?!" In a nanny car, a handsome and handsome man almost throws his phone away in surprise.

The manager in the driver's seat looked back at the man, speechless. "Can't you make such a fuss about everything? You're bothering the driver."

There was still a long distance to go, and he had no time to bother with such antics. After being stunned for two seconds, a pair of eyes looked at the phone. He grabbed his phone and sent a message to Jade Springfield.

[Are you serious?]

[Boss, aren't you too amazing?]

[I just told you yesterday, and you already have the youngest son of the Mo family by your side?]

[MY GOD]

She watched as message after message appeared. It didn't look like they were stopping anytime soon. Jade Springfield thought it was pretty annoying, so she put it on silent mode and threw the phone to the side.

In bed, Bun was so tired that his eyelids could close at any moment.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" Jade Springfield asked as she walked towards the bed.

Bun reached out and grabbed Jade Springfield's elbows. His big dark eyes looked at her hopefully. Jade Springfield walked over, took off her shoes, and lay down. Bun snuggled into Jade Springfield's embrace and his small hands grabbed Jade Springfield's clothes, only then did he close his eyes and fall asleep.

The next day.

Altair Mo and Lucien Goldstein left the city to go to a nearby village to investigate more about Bryce Smith, leaving Dante Westwood behind to protect Jade Springfield and Bun.

Not long after Altair Mo and her company left, Jade Springfield took the plastic bucket to go fishing.

Before she could leave her door, Veronica Cedar led a middle-aged couple to her house. This middle-aged couple was Veronica Cedar's older brother and sister-in-law.

Of course, her purpose would naturally be to discuss Jade Springfield's engagement to her son. The entire Alpine Village now knew that Jade Springfield had contracted the Eastern Fish Pond. So the moment Veronica Cedar suggested the idea to Edric Miller and Jasmine Brown, they approved the plan.

Early in the morning, Veronica Cedar and Edric Miller delivered two chickens to their door. Under normal circumstances, bringing only two chickens was too meager a gift, but Jade Springfield's case was different. She had no parents and her son, Monte Miller, was an outstanding candidate. Even if they came empty-handed, the girl's family would certainly agree.

Of course, they were from the same town. If word got out that they had come empty-handed, they would be painted as rude. So, early this morning, Edric Miller and Jasmine Brown had chosen two less valuable broilers chickens.

"Jade Springfield, dear! Monte Miller's parents have arrived!" Veronica Cedar walked towards her, all smiles.

"What does that have to do with me?" Jade Springfield just thought the name Monte Miller sounded familiar. As for who she was, she really had no idea.

"Look at you, I knew the girl would be shy," Veronica Cedar acted as if she were the hostess, inviting her own brother and sister-in-law into the house.

Jade Springfield frowned; she was about to lock up.

"Jade Springfield, I brought my brother and sister-in-law here. This should be enough, right?" Veronica Cedar shamelessly helped herself to the ice cream from the refrigerator.

When she came here in the past, Laurie Murray always brought her something.

"Why is there no ice cream?" Veronica Cedar turned to Jade Springfield.

Jade Springfield replied coldly, " Why would there be ice cream if you didn't buy it?"

Veronica Cedar's face stiffened with embarrassment.

Dante Westwood, who was standing to the side, almost couldn't contain his laughter. Without a doubt, she was someone who caught the attention of his boss. They both had this talent for being ruthless and aggressively sarcastic that it almost seemed like they were a family.

"Hehehehe…" Veronica Cedar laughed dryly. "It's getting late now. Let's finish discussing our business here quickly. We'd better not interfere with farm work."
