"My phone." Jade Springfield nodded.
"I'll go back and look for it." Altair Mo stretched out his hand. "Keys."
Jade Springfield looked at Bun. She originally wanted to go back, but if she left, Bun would definitely go with her, and the path from the vegetable farm to her house was not easy to traverse. Bun would feel tired.
In the end, Jade Springfield handed the keys to Altair Mo.
She looked at the path she took here. It was bumpy. She should call the mayor later and ask him to fix this road.
Shortly after Altair Mo left, Monte Miller passed by the vegetable farm with the fruits he brought. There, he saw Jade Springfield plucking tomatoes for Bun to eat.
Is that Jade kid? He looks like Jade. Is she related to him.
Monte Miller walked to the side of the vegetable farm and saw that Jade Springfield had become even more beautiful during the time he had not seen her. She was even more beautiful than the girls in the city!
Jade Springfield noticed Monte Miller staring at her and frowned. Monte Miller saw Jade Springfield looking in him direction and was instantly delighted. Just as he was prepared to approach, he heard her cold and indifferent voice rising into the air.
"You're pressing on my fence."
Monte Miller looked down. And he and he was indeed pressing down on the fence and was almost make the fence crumble under his weight.
But he took an embarrassed step back and raised his hand, showing the fruits he was carrying. "These are fruits that I brought you from the city. They are really fresh. The fruit seller told me that he just received them."
Jade Springfield looked at the fruits in Monte Miller's hands. "I don't need them. I have them."
She had a lot at home. In the morning, Altair Mo had Dante Westwood drive to the county town to buy them. He brought a bunch of fresh fruits and she couldn't even fit them all in her refrigerator. Then Altair Mo asked Dante Westwood to go buy a refrigerator. She had to stop them in the end.
She didn't have much space at home and the new refrigerator would take up the space she had left.
Monte Miller entered the farm through the entrance and placed the fruits to one side.
"You don't have to be so polite to me.
"Mount Miller scratched his head shyly."
"My mother came yesterday to propose a marriage between you and me, and it is logical that you have refused. Logically speaking, I should do it in person."
There was a tap in the vegetable farm and it was connected to the well in the house. Jade Springfield turned on the faucet and washed some cherry tomatoes before handing them to Bun in her hands. Then, she started pulling weeds out on the farm while she treated Monte Miller like air.
Monte Miller knew what Jade Springfield was like. She was very distant, so he didn't think too much about things when he saw her reaction. Monte Miller even noticed that Jade Springfield's hands were fair and flexible. They didn't look like the hands of someone who worked in the fields.
However, if she continued to live in the village, one day, Jade Springfield's hands would become as rough as the bark of an old tree.
"Jade, I don't have a girlfriend yet. What do you think?" Monte Miller had been thinking all night coming up with a speech that would get Jade Springfield to agree to live with him.
When Monte Miller saw that Jade Springfield still didn't say anything, he could only prepare himself and continue speaking. "Honestly, I've been paying attention to you since I was young. But you left school early in elementary school."
Once Jade Springfield finished weeding this patch of the farm, she continued pulling weeds in a shady area. Monte Miller followed her. "I won't be afraid that you will laugh at me even if I tell you this. You have always been on my mind, and the day before yesterday, my mother called me to tell me that she wanted to propose a marriage between you and me, and I accepted it immediately!
"Over the last few years, a lot of people have been trying to set up matchmaking sessions for me with some other girl, and…" Monte Miller scratched his head in a silly and honest manner. "There were also some girls with very good prospects who took the initiative to court me, but I never agreed with them.
"Jade, could you give me a chance?"
Altair Mo held Jade Springfield's phone and stopped not far in the distance.
