"You seem too surprised by my offer. Does your heart swell in happiness?"
She glared at the sarcastic vampire. She understood, though, why it was better for her to disguise herself as a maid if she stayed with them. Letting people know her as the mother of the duke's son would only draw attention and curiosity to her.
"If you are so worried that I will bring harm to my own son, I have an idea to put your mind at ease. You see, I am a generous man," Lemiel said, and Sienna wondered what he would do to convince her.
"Let's have a blood contract."
