Chapter 5 - 5: The Moment

Ethan was quick enough to catch me, his masculine hands wrapping round the curves of my slim waist, like a palm would cup a woman's breast.

I didn't know how to feel at first. The towel around my body still clings to it, just like a baby would cling to her mother.

Then Our eyes met. That would be the third time our eyes would meet each other.

His blue charming eyes were like the stars of the seas, so sharp that it could pierce any rock, and it shocked me to find out that he was at the point of transforming into a wolf. I quickly jumped up, into my feet. I had sensed that the werewolf pack could transform once there was an intense danger or shock.

"Are you ok?" He said, with a high pitched voice, which happened to be a voice that was filled with concern. I didn't reply, what happened with his eyes was so shocking for me, that I couldn't even respond.

 "You almost transformed, why's that?"

I was confused. He proceeded to tell me how they could transform whenever they sensed danger. That the way I tripped, gave him some sense of impending danger.

"I heard you have never transformed?", he asked, looking so concerned and confused.

"You must be dreaming to think I'm one of you guys" I murmured under my breath, while I managed to act normal.

I was surprised to find out that my heart beat had normalized. This wasn't the case with Lady Amy and Ken. But I wondered why it was so with Ethan. Why was everything different with him?

"I was told I'm special, how come you don't know about it?" I replied, as I spun to the bathroom.

"If you say so, Adira," he replied harshly.

I was pissed, I didn't understand why he would be so charming and yet so aloof at the same time. The feelings I wished he had for me weren't even close to being there, talk more of being there. I reluctantly turned on the shower and began to scrub myself.

I dressed up in blue pajamas and went to the dining table to have dinner. He had called me to come have dinner in what was not fit enough to be even called a dining room, and he had made some sandwiches and two bowls of cereal for dinner, and gestured me into one of the seats.

I flung myself into it and began to eat.

"Were your parents werewolves?", he asked, his voice still cold and distant.

I had always loved men with a baritone voice, I thought them to have always sounded romantic even without the owners trying. But Ethan was going to make me change my mind about that. Every word that had come out of his mouth was filled with distaste, and with no atom of emotion in it.

"Can we not bring my parents into this?", I asked, still focusing on my meal.

Ethan was what I would call a fabulous cook. I had never tasted a sandwich that good, not even from my aunt, Helen, who owned a restaurant in Buffalo.

"You can choose not to answer if that's what you want, but just know everything changes when you get introduced to the pack."

"Everything changes how?" I asked, curiously.

" You'll have to take a new identity, and there is no going back when that happens", he said, while I watched him take a spoonful from the bowl of cereal.

"And what happens when I take on a new identity?", my voice became loud, and I knew it was a matter of fact before I lost it. Anger, another thing I considered to be terrifying.

I had battled anger issues growing up as a young girl, and it had been something I found very difficult to control.

"You don't have to be rude, Adira." He took a bite from the last sandwich on his plate.

The mark it made with his teeth infuriated me the more.

"Once you join the pack, you won't be leaving for home ever again. You'll start your career as a junior wolf for at least six months, there you'll be taught how to serve." He replied still focusing on his sandwich like what he said wasn't harsh or difficult to take in. I considered his words demeaning and careless.

"Is that what you guys want to use me for?" I thundered . I had hit the metallic spoon on the ceramic plate and it gave a little crack sound. I didn't want to annoy him, but my anger had clouded me.

"Is this the way you get when you're mad?" He spoke quite gently, and it sent some sort of electricity down my spine. I didn't know when I became calm instantly.

"Is this the way you get angry, Adira?", he asked again, this time with his baritone voice accompanied by a smooth electrifying touch.

He reached for my hands, drawing me closer to his body. Ethan was perfectly built, it was obvious he had spent a good number of months in the gym, building up those muscles.

"Aren't you scared of speaking to the Alpha that way?", he asked with a voice that was more concerned with making love than malice. He gently pulled me towards him again, slowly as he could, while I followed helplessly.

My heart had started racing in its confinements. The atmosphere we created was electrifying and I knew I wouldn't resist him. I gulped a couple of times as I looked as helpless as ever.

"Why are you mute Adira?", he said as he pulled me further closer to him, creating an intense tension in my body. The little linen of our clothes was the only thing in-between us.

He reached for my waist and cupped his hands around them. The borders of his lips locked mine, and our tongues licked each other, this made the tension even bigger. Ethan was a great kisser, his lips had done what my ex boyfriend of two years never did.

He quickly lifted me, causing me to wrap my legs around his waist. He led me into the room, but our lips never parted.

I reached for his shirt, and he reached for my pajamas. It was just a matter of time before we were all naked and he was about to slide in.
