Chapter 34 - Slime Dungeon Re-Run (1)

Blasting through the first part of the dungeon, which was fighting against the ordinary slimes, Kalle didn't use the same strategy as before.

Rather than summoning 15 ordinary goblins to do the job and fill up the cave, Kalle went ahead and summoned two goblin shamans right away and started blasting fireballs together with them.

Of course, the ones who did most of the work were the two summoned creatures while Kalle saved up his mana for the dreaded last room of the dungeon.

While the two shamans were throwing fireballs, Kalle and Edric were walking on the back of the group, each of them trying to learn different things.

For Kalle, he was currently getting used to the new feeling his body felt after making a contract with Edric.

=========

-Mana-Hardened Scale

-Mana-Enhanced Strength

-Dragon's Eyes

-Absolute Mana Control

=========

Those were the four skills that Kalle got from Edric and even after some time spending his time trying to understand them, Kalle was only completely fluent in using the first two.

The first two skills' effects were very straightforward and there's no way Kalle wouldn't understand them.

For the first one, although Kalle didn't have scales, he still had skins covering his body.

And right now, Kalle's skin had been hardened by mana, enabling him to punch the walls of the cave without feeling the slightest bit of pain on his skin.

As for the Mana-Enhanced Strength, Kalle had already been getting used to this passive skill for some time now as he felt his body becoming very light and easy to control.

The added strength that he had made it as if the body he currently had was the body he always wanted.

Strong, light, and able to move however Kalle wanted it to be, just like a trained athlete's body.

For the last two though, Kalle was still trying to figure out what to do with them.

Of course, without the staff's help, it would be hard for Kalle to understand what the two passive skills do.

He had already asked the staff and found out what the two skills were.

The passive skill, dragon eyes, enabled Kalle to see mana.

Yes. He was also able to see mana that existed all around him now, not just feel them.

He had seen visible mana before, just like when the dark mana manifested and made the pentagram to cast the curse of weakening.

But for the other mana, Kalle could only feel them, not see their physical manifestation in the world other than through skills.

Thanks to the dragon eyes skill though, Kalle was able to do it now.

Kalle looked at the fireballs that his goblin shamans cast, and he saw how the neutral mana, which had a silvery blue color, turned to the fiery fire mana after the fireball skill had been cast.

Kalle then saw the fiery mana gathered in one spot and condensed as they made the usual fireball that he knew.

'So that's how a fireball was formed…'

Before, he only knew mana gathered in front of his staff when he cast a fireball, but now, he could see the process of the fireball forming from fire mana with his own two eyes.

As for the last skill, the skill called Absolute Mana Control, it was also a skill that gave Kalle a new perspective about the skills and mana all around him.

Just from reading the skill's name, it was pretty self-explanatory what the skill could do.

However, the skill wasn't as strong as what Kalle thought priorly.

Despite having the name Absolute Mana Control, Kalle couldn't just move the mana in his surroundings freely with the skill.

However, if he used a skill first, then that would be a different story altogether.

Kalle and the group met a large group of ordinary slimes where 10 of them were huddled together in the same spot.

His two shamans were ready to spam their fireball skills to deal with them, but Kalle wanted to test out his new skill first.

Kalle pointed his silver staff toward the group of slimes and cast the fireball skill.

The skill should have manifested in a second as the whole process of gathering neutral mana and turning into fire mana only took that long to manifest the usual fireball.

However, this time, the fireball that should have formed a split second ago was still in the process of forming as the amount of fiery mana condensed into it was doubled, and even tripled.

The one who was responsible for doing that was none other than Kalle.

Using the absolute mana control skill, Kalle redirected more mana from his body and his surroundings to the front of his staff as more neutral mana was turned to fiery mana that made up the fireball.

As a result, the fireball finally manifested after a couple of seconds.

Although it had more fiery mana, the fireball still had the same size as before.

However, it used to have a fiery red color, but now, the color of the fireball was bright orange, much brighter than before.

Just like any fireball, the second it manifested, the fireball flew forward toward its target right away.

Kalle saw how the bright orange fireball flew twice faster than the usual red fireball and it hit the ordinary so fast that the bouncing creature couldn't react at all.

Not stopping there, the second the bright orange fireball exploded, everything went silent, including Kalle's own internal thoughts as the bright orange fireball's explosion filled the room.

Not only was the sound of the explosion at least twice as loud as the usual fireball, but the size of the explosion was simply on another level as the 10 slimes were easily obliterated.

If there were even 10 more slimes near the first 10, then they would also be evaporated as the explosion size was simply that big.

As for Kalle who stood about more than 10 meters away, he could still feel the heat radiating from the explosion, warming up his skin and even stinging a little bit.

"This…"

Seeing the effect of his absolute mana control on the simple fireball skill, Kalle quickly realized something.

'I might actually clear this dungeon this time…'
