While Kalle began forming a plan in mind, Edric, who was sitting on top of Kalle's shoulders, finally figured out something after seeing his father make the orange fireball.
Just like Kalle who was trying to figure out his new skills, Edric was also doing the same.
Kalle had told him about the skills and their usage to him, and Edric was trying to make something similar to what his father and the two green creatures were doing.
The skills did come from him, but Edric was still a newborn.
Although he has a really high level of intelligence for a newly hatched creature, Edric didn't just magically know how to do everything with his skills.
He needed to learn how to use them properly and that's what he has been doing all this time while he was perched up on top of Kalle's head.
After seeing the whole process of Kalle gathering mana into the existing fireball skill and how he condensed it, Edric finally got an idea of his own.
He didn't have the fireball skill so Edric couldn't just replicate what Kalle did.
However, as a mana dragon, his instincts had told him about what he should do to reach what he had aimed to get.
Kalle and the three shamans had easily gone past the ordinary slime area and they were about to reach the wind slime area.
This time, Kalle didn't have any new strategy and he planned to just use the same old strategy as before.
Using the curse of weakness to break the wind slime's body consistency and make it a struggling ball of dough.
The only small difference he would make was to summon a goblin warrior to do the finishing job so that his goblin shamans could save up more mana and he could do less of re-summoning the goblin shamans to replenish their mana.
They walked and walked deeper into the cave until the group finally arrived at the larger part of the cave that was brightly lit.
As Kalle was about to tell one of the goblin shamans to cast the curse of summoning, Kalle was stopped by a certain creature perched upon his head.
"Skree!!"
Although Edric couldn't say any human words yet, he could still make noises and Kalle could understand what he meant through the strong connection that bonded them.
"Edric? You want to try fighting it?"
"Kree!"
Kalle was about to let his little companion try and fight his first slime, but after remembering about the green slime, he shook his head.
"This one is quite dangerous, Edric, it has an ability to throw a wind blade that could even tear up multiple goblins with ease.
Although you won't die since I've made a contract with you, You shouldn't endanger yourself."
Edric didn't reply this time, but Kalle could feel his deep desire to fight the slime and when Kalle prohibited him, Kalle could feel sadness welling up in Edric's heart.
He couldn't handle his little companion's upsetness, so Kalle finally gave in.
"Alright. But if you do die this time, you won't ask me to do it again."
"Skree!"
After getting Kalle's approval, Edric began his preparation right away as he flapped his wings to float above Kalle.
Kalle had expected the little dragon to use its high physical prowess to charge in and bite into the slime with his teeth or slash it with his claws.
So he spoke upward to the flying little dragon, "You need to use mana if you want to defeat it!"
"Kre!"
Edric said that he got this, so Kalle just stayed silent and let him do what he wanted.
Kalle was right to trust his little companion and what he saw next made his respect for the little dragon rise several levels.
After floating above Kalle, Edric opened up his mouth wide and used absolute mana control.
Moving the mana from his little body that was somehow in the peak H rank, which was higher than Grux and Betnulb, Edric gathered more and more mana toward his mouth.
It was neutral mana since Edric didn't have any skills like fireball or curses that turned that neutral mana into another type of mana.
But even neutral mana was still something that couldn't be taken lightly.
The neutral mana that Edric had gathered in his mouth was so much that it was about the same amount of mana that Kalle used to make the bright orange fireball.
But as if to show off to his father, Edric didn't stop there.
He gathered even more mana, this time having about four times the amount of an ordinary fireball, which was one more than the bright orange fireball before he finally stopped.
Between his opened mouth, a small ball of light made out of neutral mana, about the size of a golf ball calmly floated.
However, when Edric aimed the ball toward the wind slime and released it, it was anything but calm.
The small golf ball that looked harmless flew past the dozen-meter distance in a second as it even disappeared in Kalle's eyes.
One moment it was in Edric's mouth, the next time Kalle blinked his eyes, a loud crashing sound resounded in the cave and a dust cloud formed up on the other side of the cave where the wind slime resided.
Looking in the dust cloud direction and waiting for it to simmer down, Kalle found out that the green slime was no more, replaced by a meter-wide crater in the ground.
There wasn't any exaggerated explosion like the bright orange fireball.
The small floating ball of light just made a small explosion and left a small crater on the ground, obliterating its enemy along with it.
Soon after that, the staff's voice rang in his head.
'Congratulations, through his own effort, Edric has successfully created the skill, mana bullet.'

A new skill had been added to Edric's list of skills, which means that.
'Mana bullet.' Kalle said in his mind, activating the skill that he had just gained.
Different from Edric, mana gathered on the tip of his staff and Kalle could now observe the skill from up close.
He realized that not only did the mana bullet skill have more mana compared to the bright orange fireball, but the mana was also condensed more into a tinier space.
Kalle then aimed his staff in a random direction and saw the action that he had just seen repeated once again.
The mana bullet from the tip of his staff disappeared before destroying a small part of the cave wall that Kalle had aimed at.
Kalle's mouth opened wide as he saw all this and he looked at his little companion that was still floating above his head.
"You are really the best Edric! You're a genius!"
Hearing Kalle's praise and feeling it in his heart, Edric's wings moved significantly faster than before.
The wings moved so rapidly that Edric almost flew right up, crashing to the ceiling of the cave before finally calming down and going back to Kalle's shoulders.
Kalle patted the little dragon's head and gave him more praise before he stared at the deeper parts of the dungeon, smiling so wide that even his teeth showed.
"We will for sure clear this dungeon now!"
