Chapter 30 - Boss Room

"This is it boys, we're only one step away from clearing this dungeon filled with vile creatures."

Kalle looked at his two contracted creatures, Grux and Betnulb.

All the other summoned creatures had been unsummoned since Kalle wanted to have a full 100 dungeon points for whatever challenge stood against him behind the huge stone door.

Grux had been running around all this time, killing the weakened fire slimes along with two other goblin warriors.

But he didn't use much mana as the only skill that he had used so far was his enchant weapon and recall weapon.

As for the stamina that he used to run around, Kalle also didn't find any problems as the goblin warrior still stood tall and his breath was still as calm as when he was first summoned.

The slightest bit of problem that he had now was on Betnulb.

Even though he had kept his spell casting to a minimum knowing that he couldn't just resummon the goblin shaman like the other goblin shamans to generate its mana, the curse of weakening did use a lot of mana to cast.

With his current mana remaining, Betnulb could probably only cast it three more times before running out of mana.

Kalle wanted to wait for the goblin shaman to fully recover its mana, but after thinking long about it, Kalle decided that he shouldn't waste that much time and just try out the dungeon.

Even if he did die, he would just come back anyway.

So that's what he planned to do.

"Let's do our best boys!"

With Kalle standing in front of the group, he closed the stone door and pushed the door open.

The huge stone door was actually not only huge in appearance but the weight that it had was also befitting of its size.

"Ugh!"

Kalle couldn't even budge the door open when he tried to open it with his bare hands.

He then activated basic body enhancement and enhanced his hands before trying for the second time.

"Just open, you damned oversized ancient door!"

Using almost 100% of his power, the stone door was finally pushed open as it revealed a huge space inside the cave.

It was brightly lit with many of the glowing stones all over the area, even existing on the side walls that were at least 10 meters tall in height.

There were pools of water, stalactites, and stalagmites decorating the ground and the ceiling of the cave, and added to the faint glow of the glowing crystals, it was just simply a beautiful sight to behold.

Unfortunately, Kalle didn't have any time to bask in and enjoy the view.

As soon as his feet stepped inside this part of the cave, Kalle instantly felt a convergence of mana beneath his feet.

It was a familiar feeling that he felt before and Kalle wasted no time telling his two contracted monsters to move away.

"Jump sideways!"

The three of them then jumped away, both Kalle and Grux using leap to move away as fast as possible while Betnulb just threw his body to the side so that he would move fast enough.

The moment Betnulb's body crashed on the ground, from the three's prior location, earth spikes that were tall enough to skewer Kalle from head to feet appeared out of the ground.

"Beware! It's the earth slim-"

Kalle couldn't even finish his sentence as he felt other spells being cast from different parts of the cave.

He looked to his far left and found wind slimes casting their wind blade toward him.

But it didn't stop there.

From the pools of water, Kalle felt more spells were being cast as mana gathered inside the pool of water. From behind the stalagmites, Kalle could see the earth slimes stopping in their tracks as they prepared to cast another spell.

Then another source of light other than the growing crystals appeared in Kalle's vision.

He glimpsed at them and found that the fire slimes were present, gathering fire mana and preparing to send fireballs towards them.

And as if those weren't enough, Kalle saw one slime, one that was as huge as a car standing in the middle of the room.

Albeit it did nothing other than simply exist, its presence filled up the whole space and eclipsed the other slimes.

"What in the actual fuck…"

Wind blades, earth spikes, water blades, fireballs, all of these spells were currently aimed toward himself and his two contracted monsters.

Knowing a retreat wasn't possible and wouldn't do anything at this point, Kalle decided to give it his all instead.

"Take down as much as you can and give it your all!"

Following his own command to his two contracted monsters, Kalle began casting fireballs toward the slimes that he caught in his sight.

Betnulb also did the same as he didn't even try to cast the curse of weakening that needed some time for it to manifest.

As for Grux, he activated berserk right away when he heard Kalle's command and saw what was happening around him.

Kalle's and Betnulb's fireballs flew everywhere as they cast as many fireballs as they could.

But of course, just like what happened so far, the slimes had their own way of saving themselves in the face of an ordinary fireball.

The wind slimes just dodged using their first ability and easily got out of the fireball's range, while the earth slimes just summoned an earth wall that held the fireballs at bay.

As for the fire slimes and the water slimes, Kalle and Betnulb didn't even bother trying to hurt them with the fireballs as the former was resistant to it and the latter was inside a pool of water.

Besides, the water slimes could counter the fireballs using a water ball of their own.

As a result, the fireballs did nothing other than light up the place and cancel some attacks aimed towards themselves.

But that was it. It only disrupted a few attacks.

Without a goblin warrior protecting it and no lifesaving skills other than the curse of blindness, which was useless if the creature you're fighting with was already blind, Betnulb was the first one to fall.

With a wind blade being the fastest spell in the room, it sliced Betnulb's body in half without him being able to do anything and turned him into particles of light.

On the other hand, Grux and Kalle survived for longer as they used the enhancement in their body to stay mobile and dodged all the spells coming towards them.

'What can I do… What can I do…' Kalle kept thinking as he dodged more fireballs and earth spikes.

However, Kalle didn't get to ponder for long as it was now also his time to follow in his contracted creature's step.

The huge slime in the middle of the room finally moved for the first time.

At first, it bounced just like any other ordinary slime and it seemed to not have any special abilities like the elemental slimes.

However, everything changed when the huge slime bounced over to one of the wind slimes and swallowed it.

After swallowing the wind slime, the huge slime's color turned from light blue to the wind slime's color which was green.

And what Kalle saw and sensed next made him swallow a mouthful of saliva.

The second the huge slime turned green, Kalle felt an absurd amount of mana gather inside the green slime before it disappeared in the next moment.

Yes, it just disappeared and appeared in another place.

Kalle could sense the residue of wind mana that it used, but Kalle couldn't see the huge slime moving as it moved so fast it looked like the green slime had teleported away.

And the worst part of it all was the green slime teleported right in front of his face.

Kalle wanted to use leap and basic body enhancement on his feet to get away as fast as he could, but the green slime was one step faster than him.

The second it 'reappeared' in front of Kalle, the huge green slime had already gathered more mana as it cast the green slime's wind blade.

Just like the green slime's first skill that had been amplified by the huge slime, the green slime's second skill was also enhanced as a wind blade that was wide enough to slice open an SUV car came out of its body and sliced Kalle's body open at the speed of light.

Having his last moments seeing his own bottom half of his body being swallowed and melted by the giant slime, Kalle lost consciousness again due to the pain he felt from having his body sliced in half

'You have died.'
