Chapter 27 - Vile Creature (2)

"RETREAT! HURRY BOYS! MOVE YOUR LITTLE LEGS AND RETREAT!"

It was Kalle's first time ever seeing another magic other than the fireball and the goblin shaman's curses with his own eyes.

To say Kalle was shocked, was the perfect statement to describe it.

He didn't know a wind blade, a blade made out of wind could be so strong even to slash apart his goblins, multiple of them simultaneously.

Of course, the wind was strengthened by mana, but Kalle just found it both fascinating and terrifying how much mana could affect something.

Then thinking about the creatures that Gilgamesh called Gods, Kalle could only imagine what kind of power they held until they were called Gods.

There were a lot of questions about mana and these unknown existences that Kalle probably never met before, excluding Gilgamesh, but he saved his curiosity for later as Kalle now had another thing that he needed to attend to.

Fortunately for his goblin army, the second they ran far away enough, the green slime stopped throwing wind blades toward the goblin army that had lost half of their number.

The goblin army stood in front of Kalle, facing him as they awaited their next order.

None of them seemed to be moved or traumatized from what had just happened, probably from them knowing the fact that they didn't really die and they could just spawn back in again as long as their master lived.

Kalle found that to be relieving for him.

He knew that these goblins didn't really die, but he was afraid that the goblins would think otherwise as they fought in battle and died multiple times.

Luckily, that's not what happened and the deaths of their comrades didn't affect them one bit regarding their loyalty towards Kalle or their battle prowess.

Knowing that, Kalle patted one of the goblins standing in front of him in the head before staring at the green slime happily bouncing some distance away from him and his goblin army.

The slime acted just like any ordinary light blue slime, but Kalle had seen with his own eyes how the slime was able to detect enemies faster and it also had abilities the ordinary slime didn't have.

The first ability was to use mana or in the case that Kalle saw, a wind made out of mana to propel its own body away from danger.

The speed that the green slime moved when using the ability was nothing to joke about as Kalle was sure that his leap skill wouldn't be able to reach that kind of speed.

Unless he used the double enhancement on his feet that was.

If he used basic body enhancement in his feet and the leap skill together, then Kalle was confident that he could move even faster than the slime.

However, that combination was pretty much still hard to control for him.

If he dashed too far away from the green slime when he used the skill to catch up to it, then Kalle would be facing the slime's second skill.

The wind blade was the green slime's second skill and it moved slightly faster than the fireball skill.

However, the speed difference wasn't the only thing that made Kalle worried and ordered a full-on retreat for his army.

It was the power that was held within the windblade.

The goblins, albeit only as big as a kid, weren't as weak as those children.

So when he saw the wind blade could easily slice 5 of them and kill them on the spot, Kalle knew that the wind Blade wasn't something that he could just brush off as another simple spell.

If he wanted to avoid getting sliced in half, then he needed to stay away from that wind blade.

Fortunately, Kalle had something in his arsenal that could attack someone from afar.

Kalle aimed his silver staff towards the green slime and spoke in his mind, 'Fireball.'

A fireball then appeared in front of the silver staff and it flew towards the green slime.

Kalle observed the fireball with focus as he saw that it got nearer and nearer to the green slime.

But when the fireball was a couple of meters away from it, the green slime stopped bouncing altogether and it started gathering mana and cast its first spell.

As a result, the fireball exploded on the empty ground as the green slime moved away fast and far enough from it.

Just like before, the green slime then cast its second skill, sending the wind blade toward the direction in which it sensed the fireball from earlier.

Seeing the wind blade flying towards him, Kalle quickly cast another fireball and aimed towards the flying wind blade.

The two spells then clashed against each other as the fireball and the wind blade exploded on impact, sending hot air all over the cave.

The green slime continued staying still for a few moments as it tried to detect any more attacks, but finding nothing coming its way, the green slime then continued bouncing around.

'As I've guessed, this little green thing couldn't be hit by a fireball because of its speed…'

Kalle then racked his brain once more.

He had thought about spending all his dungeon points to surround the green slime with goblins from all sides.

Although it might have worked as the slime would be running out of room to evade, Kalle believed that he would be losing a lot of goblins in a short amount of time.

And if the trend was the same as before where more slimes appeared the deeper he went into the cave, then the strategy would be unusable.

If there were 10 of these green slimes, then his Zerg tactics would just become unusable as 10 green slimes could defeat 50 of his goblins with their wind blade skill.

However, Kalle wasn't lost yet.

When he thought about the main problem with the green slime, it could be simplified as its superior speed.

Its speed was the one making it hard to defeat from a safe distance where it couldn't detect its enemies yet.

Fortunately for Kalle, he got hands-on experience on how to make someone else lose their speed.

Kalle was not sure about casting the skill himself, but after feeling their constant presence in his mask, Kalle finally got used to it and braced to do it himself.

Kalle first focused on the green slime and marked it as his target.

Holding the staff upright instead of aiming toward the slime, Kalle quietly said,

"Curse of Weakness."
