"My love for you is not a game your highness." Came Helena's dramatic reply and as she said those words, the creature standing next to her stepped forward ready to attack Rose who let go of Lucas' shirt and hugged him subconsciously out of fright.
The way she clung onto him made him smile and his hand that was still on her waist squeezed her and Rose who was so frightened did not realize the little action. Her waist was so small under his hold and even though it was not the right time for him to be thinking about this, he wondered how it would feel to touch her bare skin and that thought made his manhood twitch.
"What is this?!" Rose asked shakily while still clinging onto him. Disgusting was not the word to be used but looking at it's scaly dark brown skin, goosebumps started to form on her skin.
"It's a dragon...why don't you go to the kitchen and get something to eat." He suggested but in as much as Rose wanted to leave, she couldn't because every time she glanced at the animal, it's cold light green eyes were on her as if it was ready to feast on her.
"Go, I will destruct it."
She had hardly reached the door when the animal made a run towards her making her freeze in fear but Lucas stepped in between them with a dagger that was quarter length of a sword. His eyes that were filled with amusement all this time bacame serious as he still held the dagger tightly but the animal that was so intent on killing someone roughly attacked him and ripped his shirt and when it's rough nails touched his skin, and tore it apart which made him groan in pain but with all his might, he stabbed it's neck and at the same time, both women came towards him.
"Rose.., leave!" He ordered when Rose came to him. The wound on his shoulder was bleeding profusely and his fangs were out. "But your hi..._"
"I said LEAVE!" This time Rose did not need to be told again because she fled out of the room leaving two people and an animal that she did not want to ever see again.
Tilting his head, he looked at the woman who had been serving as the head maid for years. "Maybe you should have thought twice before executing this ridiculous plan of yours." He said calmly. It was very rare for him to show his emotions and that was one thing that most of his subjects knew and even though he was currently in pain, his face did not give out anything and that annoyed Helena who had her arms crossed on his chest.
"Maybe her death would have served you right. I'm not the only enemy you have Lucas. And if I do not finish this job myself, someone else will." Lowering her head to look at the dragon, she ordered.
"Finish him off!" But even after ordering the animal, it did not move. " Kill him!" This time, her voice carried anger which was mixed with arrogance but instead of killing him, the dragon growled in pain.
"What did you do to him?!" Helena asked but even after waiting for his answer, Lucas did not utter a word as his eyes were on the animal which continued to growl and as seconds came to pass, it turned into dust and disappeared without leaving even a trace of its existence. Helena who saw this panicked and quickly she started to utter a spell to which a portal was formed so that she could flee and once it was fully formed, she tried to move towards it but her legs did not move.
"You brought a magical creature that attacked me and not only that, you tried to kill her and you expect me to watch you leave this room alive?" The wound on his shoulder had not healed yet but that did not bother him at all. What disturbed him was the thought that they tried to take her away from him when he had just found her.
"What are you?!" Helena's question was ignored by Lucas who was enjoying seeing the witch trying to move but she was unable to lift her feet from the ground. "I'm not in the mood to answer your questions Helena. All I can say is that I will try not to forget the moments we spent together."
His words were empty and not waiting for Helena to utter another word, he lifted his hand that now had long sharp nails and ran it deep her heart. Blood started to come out through her mouth and Lucas who was still holding her heart added more pressure untill it burst whereby he finally let go and the girl fell on the white floor which was stained with her blood. At that very moment, Rose appeared with a first aid box but upon seeing the dead body on the floor, she dropped it.
She was alive a few minutes ago!
Her eyes were glued on the dead body and the sight caused her to tremble and when she saw the king's bloody hand, she shook her head and a single tear dropped from the corner of her eye.
She now regretted coming to attend to his wounds and the thought of running out of the room crossed her mind but as if he read her mind her warned her.
"Don't even think about it because in your current state, you can't make it halfway through those corridors."
"You killed her!" Came her whisper and Lucas who clearly heard her walked towards her. His shoulder had stopped bleeding but the blood on his silk shirt was still wet and his jet black hair was a little ruffled and his aura had changed into something intimidating which made Rose stand in the same place even though she had the urge to run.
"I didn't want you to see this but I am now glad that you did."
