Shaking her head to combat the dizziness, Annabelle turned away from the others, rubbing her eyes in frustration.
"Annabelle, are you okay?" Emily asked, concerned by her behaviour.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," Annabelle replied, grappling with the waves of dizziness.
Wiping away the silent tears forming in her eyes, she groaned softly, her eyes fluttering open.
"Emily, I'm not okay. Did you drug me? Did you put something in the juice? What have you done to me?" she asked, her breath weak as she struggled to stay conscious.
"I'm sorry, Annabelle, but I had no other choice," Emily apologised, avoiding eye contact.
"I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. I shouldn't trust any of you. I'm not going anywhere. Take me home, don't force me into—" Annabelle's angry words were cut short by the overwhelming effects of the drink. Still, she struggled to express her defiance.
