His head raised, beautiful blue eyes staring at her questioningly, as if he had no idea what she was talking about.
After waiting in silence, he reluctantly shook his head and returned his gaze to his phone.
She sighed, turned away, and started walking toward the window. Suddenly, the melodious sound of his laugh reached her ears, making her turn abruptly. Confusion clouded her expression when she saw him, engrossed in his phone.
"Alvin?" she called, raising an eyebrow at him. He remained serious, focused on his phone, and she felt like she was disturbing him.
"Annabelle… what is it?" he asked, sighing under his breath, still not looking at her.
"Never mind," she replied, shooting him a glare, and then she walked over to a wooden chair. Just as she was about to sit down, she heard him chuckle.
She turned back to look at him, but he appeared composed, as if he had done nothing.
