Chapter 2 - Did you have zero feelings for her?

"That handsome man is my husband and the other man is my brother-in-law."

Miley feels like her mind blew at that very second.

Thunderstruck from head to toe, she just looked at her best friend, Cassidy as if she grew two heads, eyes as wide as saucers.

But then, she isn't over-processing the fact that she lost her memories yet, which is why she didn't understand a single thing that she said.

"I lost my memories?!" Miley then bolted out again, looking utterly.

"Are you sure that you don't remember him?. You married to him for eight months." Cassidy eyed her.

"You are giving me a headache, Cassidy." Miley frowned hard.

Miley, who is known to be so head-over-heels in love with her husband that she might as well be worshipping him like a god, just declared that she doesn't remember him at all.

"Let her rest!" Sam, Miley's childhood friend walked into the ward.

"Sam, you look like a handsome doctor." Cassidy turned to him with a smile.

"I am a doctor," Sam said in a flat tone.

"Sam, Did you inform my mom and Dad?" Miley asked making Cassidy and Sam's expression turn hard.

Tristan had to go back, so he told the caregiver what she should be mindful of when taking care of Miley, such as what she should and should not eat.

The caregiver was a woman in her thirties. She was holding a bowl of bland potato soup as she fed it to Miley.

After taking a few sips, Miley suddenly felt nauseous and vomited. The potatoes were undercooked and made Miley feel sick.

The caregiver quickly grabbed a trash can for her to puke into.

After Miley finished vomiting, the caregiver poured a glass of water for her to rinse her mouth.

She asked, "Do you still want to drink this soup?"

Miley's stomach was in pain from the vomiting. Her face turned pale. She weakly shook her

head.

"No. Throw it away.'

-----

Every memory she recalled of her mother and father's felt like a dagger stabbing into her heart, subjecting her to endless torture.

At that moment, the nurse happened to pass by and noticed Miley clenching her chest, visibly in pain. Thinking that something was happening to her, the nurse rushed over to check on her.

"Miss Lombard, are you alright? Where does it hurt?"

Miley wiped away her tears and replied calmly. "I am fine."

The nurse did not press any further. Noticing that the IV drip was already half-empty, she adjusted the infusion speed and slowed it down! After leaving the room, she informed. Miley's attending doctor about her mental condition.

Aside from Cassidy's visits and occasional visits from the nurses, Miley was alone in the ward, but she was used to When she saw the sunny weather, she felt it would be nice to take a walk outside. However, Miley spent most of her time sitting on her bed lost in thought.

Meanwhile, In the private room of Zec club, Dexter stood by the French window, overlooking the songstress on the first floor. The singer onstage was singing a nostalgic old song, "Every Breath You Take".

On the sofa, Kelvin Stewart had his arms around two pretty women with voluptuous bodies of wrapped in satin dresses and sultry makeup.

"Do you not care about your wife at all? My men told me she'd been in her ward crying all day, not leaving her bed. She might learn about her parents. Even I felt bad for her when I heard the news!" Kelvin mocked Dexter.

"If you have nothing good to say, shut your mouth." Dexter shot back. He turned back and placed his glass on the table. One of the ladies tried to pour more wine into his glass but was scared away as he glared at her.

"Look at you, scaring away my girl. Such a square," Kelvin muttered. He gestured for the women to leave the room.

Only Dexter and Kelvin were left in the private room. Kelvin put his arms around Dexter's shoulder and asked, "It's been almost one year. Do you have zero feelings for her?"

Dexter calmly removed his hand and stood up. He patted the spot that Kelvin had touched as if brushing away dust and directed his gaze toward him.

The singer finished her song and walked by Dexter, who ignored her and walked past. With her alluding makeup, the singer glanced at his departing figure.

"What a rude man!"

Miley stayed at the hospital to recuperate from her injuries. But as time passed, she lost a few pounds.

Hearing a knock on the door, Miley shifted her attention from her book and looked toward the door while resting on the balcony. She did not move and called, "Come in."

A bodyguard in black pushed the door open and told her that she was discharged.
