Chapter 4 - I am not going to divorce your brother.

The next morning when Miley came out from the room, she saw that Dexter had already dressed up. He wore a crisp white shirt with black trousers. This man was favoured by God. He had a face with sharp features and a perfect figure. He looked stunning in anything he wore.

Dexter was just putting on the last button on his shirt when Miley appeared. He took a look at her dress and frowned.

"Miley, are you going to the countryside?" Dexter asked.

Miley lowered her head and looked at her outfit. She was wearing a blue long skirt over a white T-shirt. This was her style and she liked it a lot.

"Why? It's beautiful." She replied.

"We are going to visit Grandma. Don't embarrass me with such shabby clothes. There are some dresses in the wardrobe. Go and choose something for yourself," said Dexter, frowning.

"This is how I usually...."

Before Miley could go on, Dexter leaned closer to her and held her chin in his hand, staring at her fiercely.

"Wear those dresses that you have tried to impress me." He tightened his grip on her chin, causing a sharp pain in her jaw. Miley's heart skipped a beat, fearing he would crush her with just a little more strength.

"Okay. Let go of me" She uttered.

"I hate disobedient women the most" Dexter loosened his grip as if in disgust.

"And I hate a man like you the most".

Miley grumbled in her mind as she sprinted to the walk-in wardrobe without another word.

As soon as she entered the room, she thought, 'Wow! This wardrobe is like a boutique in a shopping mall!'

Half of the space was occupied by men's clothes and half by women's. The men's clothes were all in basic colours, while the women's ranged in all kinds and colours.

"Oh my god! This is my wardrobe!" She gasped. She quickly caught a light pink dress and put it on thoughtlessly.

When she caught herself in the mirror, she couldn't believe her appearance. The off-shoulder top revealed her collarbone and shoulders teasingly. The knee-length, pleated hem granted her a dignified and elegant look. Surely, the dress was designed by some elite brand.

Dexter walked out of the door, and Miley tried her best to speed up and follow him. He honked the horn endlessly as she lagged.

When she finally got in the car, she made sure to sit as far away from him as possible. Sharing such a small space with him was suffocating. She looked outside the window pensively, wondering when this charade would come to an end.

The two of them remained silent the rest of the ride. The car finally pulled into the driveway of the Lombard Mansion.

"Miley, come here." The old madam waved at her.

Miley walked obediently, feigning a smile.

"My poor child! I am sad that you don't remember me." Nellie held her hand.

"Come take a seat next to me."

Miley walked over and sat next to her. Nellie scrutinized her from head to toe before saying, "Have you lost weight?"

"Grandma, Isn't she great at acting? Getting sympathy from others." An annoying female voice sounded.

"Olivia, how could you be so rude? Miley's your sister-in-law! You should greet her when you see her!" reprimanded Nellie as she frowned.

Olivia shrugged and said, "Grandma, I'm going out for a while. Someone here's stinking the air up."

With that, she walked out without a care in the world.

Nellie sighed. "Don't mind her, Miley. We've spoiled her too much."

Nellie patted her hand, her affection for Miley increasing. "Miley, Don't worry too much. I will hire the best doctor for you. okay? As for Olivia, just pretend that she doesn't exist."

Miley nodded her head with a smile.

After lunch, Nille felt tired and took a nap. Meanwhile, Miley took a stroll outside while Olivia trailed behind her.

"Miley, don't think that you can be the Lombard's daughter-in-law forever just because my Grandma likes you. My brother still loves Helena deeply. You should just give up," mocked Olivia

Miley gazed at her politely and smiled. "Sister-in-law, Why do you hate me so much?"

Olivia cast a mocking glance at her. "If you are trying to gain my brother's affection by pretending. Dream on!"

After a slight pause, she continued, "Stop pretending to be Cinderella and dreaming of marrying into a wealthy family. Just get a divorce with my brother as soon as possible. Perhaps you could still earn yourself a considerable sum of compensation instead of leaving with nothing in the end."

"Thanks for your reminder. But I am not going to divorce your brother." with that, Miley spun around and walked back.

"Is she sick?" Miley murmured on her way back.

"Grandma, I have something to deal with at work right now. I'm leaving." Dexter got into the car followed by Miley.

"Miley, if you have any complaints about me, just say it. Don't act as if I have wronged you. If you don't want to ride in my car, you are free to get out now," Dexter snapped. He disliked seeing her looking restless and fidgeting.
