I turned on the tap, and washed my hands. The taps, and by extension, the entire toilet used the same methods that the toilet's from my previous world used to function. This made sense, although using Magical Items were an option that would be an unnecessary expense.
And, though this place wasn't lacking funding, they certainly didn't want to waste their money.
Magical Items were different from Artifacts. Artifacts were things that were formed by the world, that were left behind by Gods or that were left behind by Heroes of previous eras. Magical Items were pieces of technology that used Magic to function, these devices were created by humans of this age.
They were handy little things.
'Speaking of Artifacts, I should try get a good sword at some point. I want to secure a powerful weapon, ideally on par with the sword Arthur will acquire. But, that's unlikely. Arthur's sword is a weapon of the highest order after all. An Artifact forged by the world itself, an Artifact that the world created to protect itself.'
In the original story, Arthur would acquire a sword that wad essentially the planet's defense system against foreign threats. And although I wanted a weapon that rivaled it, it just wouldn't really work out like that realistically. The number of items in this world that rivaled that sword were few and far between. The number of swords that fit into that category were even lower.
And, with such high ranking Artifacts, you couldn't choose it and have it serve you. Many of them chose their wielders. Now, that doesn't mean that you can't put it to use if you find it. It just means it's true power won't reveal itself.
Well, technically I already had an item that was of equal if not higher ranking than his future sword. And that was my Heart.
The God's were all dead. And many of them no longer even had corpses, and of course, their Heart's weren't something that tended pop up. Ever. As a matter of fact, things related to God's weren't common at all.
Though, there's no point worrying God's now. They're all pretty much dead, unless you were to consider the planet's will a God. In which case, it's the only one that continues to exist. It's that very existence that chose Arthur as the wielder of the sword it forged.
In any case, I'll worry about getting a weapon for myself later. Well, sooner rather than later, since I want to secure a growth type artifact. They have higher ceilings of power even if they may have lower floors.

And with that, I left the toilet once I had dried my hands. Charlotte was waiting for me in the hallway, obviously not wanting to go into the toilet. She didn't ask me why I left or berate me for leaving without speaking.
She just looked at me, her eyes very slightly dulled from what seemed to be guilt.
"My bad. I should've been a bit more tactful and not brought it up."
'Ah. From her perspective, it probably looked like I was having a meltdown from thinking about my kidnapping.'
"Oh yeah, Charlotte I need to buy a phone. And uh, I also need my bank details. I... don't suppose we can get those things sorted out today?"
The corners of her lips turned up as she smiled in an almost smug manner.
She stuck her hand into her shadow, and pulled out a black card along with a phone.
'Well that's a convenient ability if I've ever seen one. Storing things in your shadow... why can't I do that? Well, I suppose my cloak is probably the closest thing I can get to her Shadow Storage.'
And with that, I happily snatched the card out of her hands and summoned the Cloak Of Darkness. I was allowed to have the Cloak out at all times according to the school rules, though there were occasions where I'd have to put it away for the sake of fairness.
And so, I stuffed the card into my cloak. The Cloak would retrieve whatever I had in mind. And, its storage space was pretty amazing, though limited. However, I couldn't store living things in it.
"Thanks."
I was a bit bummed that I wouldn't get to go buy a new phone, but it was fine. I'd get a new one later if I needed it.
"The password's been reset. Anyways, come with me. They'll be posting the results in 20 or so minutes."
I realised just how long I had spent in the toilet, and while a little embarrassed I followed her. And then, I looked at the board, scanning the entire thing for my name.
But, I couldn't find it. No matter what I did, my name wasn't on the board. I couldn't see my ranking on both the board that showed combat ranking, or the one that listed the theory ranking.
'Did I... not get in? Me..?'

A/N: was gonna have a phone shopping mini arc but that can happen later.
